Great video Chris, as always 🥇 What I love most about the humble Iswara (all models) is the cheap and the easily available spare parts nationwide... That gives me the confidence to drive this workhorse nationwide with confidence... Having to know deep in your mind that you're not likely going to be slapped with a hefty repair bill plus possible downtime due to the car needing to be docked long periods, in the event the Iswara breaks down... But with non rocket science motoring knowledge and doable motoring discipline for the mass, the Iswara is not likely going to breakdown on your journey small or big, near or far... Just like it's original chorus in the Iswara ads of the 19-naughties... "... Just you and me, Proton Saga Iswara..." 🤗
Chris, I love old cars. But you made me to fall even more for old cars. And Chris, you are amazing. Your reviews with your fun elements are just wonderful. I am happy to subscribe to a good channel. Keep going, Chris. Love from JB, Johor. 🙏
Awww man, this comment made my day!!! Thanks a lot for watching and the kind words bud, really appreciate it!!🙏🏽😊 Stay tuned for a lot more to come!!😃😃😃
My aunt had this model in silver with an auto box in the late 90s // until about 2005. Too young to remember how this car drove but the interior footage does bring back memories... thanks bro!
Chris i am still driving my 2003 Iswara LMST for my weekdays day use ..i still love Manual cars like you.. as for my Honda Brv only for my weekends use .. thanks for iswara review very beautiful well maintained
Thanks for the comment too!! Great to hear the car is still serving u well 😃😃😃 I am SO tempted to up my offer to uncle, but I also don't wanna deprive him of a car, so maybe I'll trade, but WHAT would I trade with... I love ALL my cars 🤦🏽♂️🤣😁
Love watching your videos mainly because of your reaction when driving these old Proton gems! The excitement you show reflects the nostalgia we had with the early 2000s Proton models. Good timess
I'm born in 86 and I used to ride in my mum's proton saga to school. This iswara brings back fond memories. We had laced seat covers too!!! Theres also the little ash tray at the centre console area for the back passengers, I used to hide my candies in there
DEAL!! When would u like to collect the car? Hahaha!! I'll arrange for Puspakom. This car is a 1 owner since new, old uncle, only used it to run around his taman, it's authentic, verified by the wkshop that takes care of this car 😃
No typo.. it is definitely worth RM25k if you like the car, and given the condition. But as much as I’d love to, I’m not in Malaysia, and won’t potentially return in the near future :( A Chris Wee treatment time the car would make it damn near perfect..
Love your reviews . This review brings me memories of my father's Saga LMST 1.3 he had until he sold last year to buy a Honda . My family went a lot of long journeys with that car and it's economical for it's age. I love that car , it's not problematic compared to my mother's 1st Myvi. Planning to buy it back and improve it's brakes and put power steering and most importantly maintain like a new car.
Thanks for the feedback Palani, sorry for the late response!!🙏🏽 It's still a very hardy car indeed, and we'll maintained it will last a lifetime!!🙏🏽👍🏾😀
My father owns a 1999 1.3S iswara aeroback, however he mainly drives an automatic 1.5GLi proton wira. Surprising, both of the cars still have their power locks always working.
Damn near impossible to find, esp for models like these!! By this age most are way above 300-400k in mileage already, 25k mileage can be considered brand new for a 20yr old car 😀
I used to drive this model during my uni life last 10 years. Got it from my dad, really good car. Bawa apa pun boleh, siap boleh lipat kerusi belakang.
used to have the sedan version during my colleague years, 1.3 manual as well. Had so much fun driving it around town, even went to genting multiple times without any issue. This car is extremely reliable and fuel saving as well.
Thanks for sharing that ownership experience!! I too have fond memories of this car, mine was the sedan variant, white, 6882 reg plate. I wonder if it's still running somewhere 😊
A very interesting throwback indeed. This rekindles the memories i had with my dad's 1997 Iswara Sedan MT 1.3 non power steering which we sold after 8 good years of usage. Actually the "wood like" frame at the dashboard and the gear knob is stock Proton as my dad's one had that design too. I never had the privilege to drive it as i was too young that time. Remember used to see dad performed minor service all by himself at home and he claimed that Proton is easy to maintain as the spare parts are affordable. I never understood this until I own and maintain my Persona Elegance. Something my Honda / Toyota friends cry about. Personally, I don't have any plans of buying any imported cars in near future as I see Proton cars are actually good. Not forgetting the fact that their build and interior fitting quality has improved so much over the years especially after Geely's intervention. Three things that many Proton owners can brag about would be "Great and unmatched handling tuned by Lotus", "Good air-conditioning system" and "easy maintenance".
Nice!! Thanks for the great feedback Arnold, much appreciated!! Yep, Proton did indeed set the standard for car a.c. systems from way back when, it's become a lexicon of sorts when it comes to evaluating a.c. systems for other car makes too. I've heard a.c. shop guys say "u want your car a.c. as cold as Proton or not??" Lol!!😄😄😄
I just drive this car a weeks ago from Jb to Melaka then travel back to Jb seriously I can feel the engagement with the car especially the “paut steering “ 😁 such a legendary car btw 😆
Awesome!! This car will faithfully serve its owner for many MANY years to come if properly maintained, basic, cheap and cheerful, a real honest car 😀👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
This brings tears to my eyes. My late father bought my mum this exact model. The Iswara 1.3 m aeroback in red. I remembered the car has a pull up visor at the back from the showroom.. I didn't know it is an aftermarket or a factory item... My family of 9 could fit in it I kid u not.. 3 + 6 config.. of course on the lap la... He did buy a van afterwards.. but man.. I loved the car.. 180km/h on the speedo on a 1.3 carb 74hp.. damn..
9 in the car???😱😱😱 Did the spot-welds come apart? Hahaha!! Wow!!😃 Aww man, thank you SO much for sharing that lovely memory, yes, I can totally relate, cars become like pets, part of the family after a while, and they invariably end up as memories later in life. Cheers bro, thanks again for sharing 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😊
@@ChrisWeevilGarage we were oldest 14, 12, 10, 9, 7, 5 and youngest I think he was 4months.. 4 sitting.. 2 on the laps. My baby bro on my my mum's.. on the long journeys... Brings back my memories to my old proton Iswara A/B. A 1995 made. Sold to my close relative about a year ago and bought myself another saga but this time a LMST 😆
I would venture that you preferred the one u sold over the LMST....sorry, no offense, but that car, oh dear. I'm not gonna say anymore cos I don't know if u still have it, hahaha!!🤭🤭🤭
Chris Wee that is true bro. Very2 true. I would prefer the one that i sold over the LMST. Coz for me Iswara’s handling is better than the LMST. Reason I have to sell it coz it has a very bad body rust just like the one u showed in the video. Especially on the roof. Got it fixed a few times already but it just don’t do it. Naaa. Decided to replace it with LMST but damn! How I wish I still owned that Iswara 🤦🏼♂️ Still have the LMST tho, (just a secondary car) still running. But planning to get it replaced by next year if God wills. And ofcoz, it will me a Manual Transmission car 😂👍🏻
Hey bro... Guess what.. I just got back the Iswara from the "new" owner. Now I am the "new old owner". Good thing, the previous new owner took good care of the car. Now, I'm a happy new old owner. So happy. I look up for this video again just to tell u this. 😁 PS. I still keep the LMST too tho 😜
Chris , i own this car too , manage to buy it on april this year . Its come out on 2000 too .. almost 20y/o .. still in good condition , milage just hit 147k km ... i tell u what , this aeroback model is much more comfortable n stable on hiway speed ,when hit 120-130km , its feel solid .. good car if compare to thier sedan model .. fuel comsumption also not bad , from Kuala Kangsar - Bandaraya Melaka just cost me RM55 only .. dats cool right .. haha
Yes their extremely reliable. But one defect that all post 2000 Proton have is the faulty radiator lol, mine overheated for god knows how many times haha. At the end this kind mechanic at the workshop that i always visit replaced it with a twin hose radiator from a Wira as what he claims lol.
Ahhhh nostalgia!!! My parents used to have Saga Aeroback in green color, such a nice car and been soo many adventure like stuck on mud, roadtrip and vacation. Best part is I can't forget the interior and aircond smell, so nostalgic. Unfortunately the car was sold to deposit a Ford Ranger T6
Can't argue with a Ranger, love it!! But yeah, this car is cheap and cheerful, basic, easy to maintain. Can't help but like an honest car like this 😊🙏🏽👍🏾
@@ChrisWeevilGarage Update! : I just bought myself a Saga Iswara sedan with my own hard working money for study use, it feels great to own and drive my childhood car lol
@@ChrisWeevilGarage low maintenance with careful driving, easy to find parts and it just goes and goes. A good work horse. Best part can park anywhere worry free.
Though not exactly this model, but growing up when i took the taxi with my parents and back when taxis were mostly Sagas of this generation, being a kid in the car I was somehow always so enchanted by the speedometer and dashboard design in general, I always looked fondly from the back passenger seat, remembering how the speed meter will always jiggle a little when taxi drivers drove the manual version, very nostalgic!
Awesome!! I love hearing about old car memories, thanks for sharing!! I used to have a sedan variant of this, so this unit brought back a lot of memories, especially the sound this car makes when u drive it, it's unique!!😃😃😃
@@ChrisWeevilGarage my pleasure Chris! Maybe one day I'll get a Saga of my own when its certified vintage in 10-15 years! Edit: sorry I mean certified classic. Vintage by JPJ's definition is 50 years whilst classic is 25!
I remember when my dad got this car brand new . The smell of this car I will not forget till this day . Then he bought a 1.5 A saga as his toys to play, then this iswara was pass down to my mother, then when a brand new kelisa with yellow colour came out,she trade in the iswara for kelisa which is super duper cool car too since i really like the interior of it . but the iswara had too much memories of me growing up in it going to school everyday and the iswara also go to janda baik once but absolute barai lah wehh hahaha . it was white . and most comfortable car by that time to me .
I had a white Iswara too! It was the 1st car I bought with my own money. My first first car was a hand-me-down Saga Megavalve 1.3 sedan. Thanks for watching and sharing that car memory, love it!! 😃😃😃 PS: yes I remember the smell, when I got into this unit, the small brought back a tonne of great memories 😊
Chris Wee no worries . I love to share my memories especially about old cars . btw please keep up this kind of contents and keep finding treasure hunt like this . when a proton with this kind of condition its just absolutely crazy . im sure there is more out there .
that lace cover is the official auntie and taxi drivers accessories 😂. Great find! addendum: you didnt cover the plate number sandblasted on the windows another addendum: have you tried the horn, I remember as a kid that its being super loud
Sh1t! Demmit..missed that. Ah, the horn, yes it was loud, I had the same car long ago, but the sedan variant, and I recall it being very loud indeed!!😃😃😃 Thanks for watching and the feedback!!🙏🏽😊
This brings back memories! Back in the days commuting to KTAR from Puchong. Loved the space, the flat dash and the balls cooler but the sampan like handling was horrible and my god, the fuel consumption was RM50 for 2 days. Immediately got back into Mom’s C.L.K. (Cute Little Kelisa) after a week and never looked back!
Hahahahaha!!! Thanks for watching and sharing that memory bro, yup, I strongly feel the crotch vents should have been carried on, what a great feature. I'd buy this car just for that 🤣🤣🤣
Bring back mr a lot my memory still remember I was order 1997 waiting stock coming take about 1year time from Edaran otomobil national with finance interest 7% per year (new car)~
Wow! You have a very good memory!! I had the sedan variant of this model, the first car I ever bought for myself, it was my 2nd car after the Saga Megavalve 1.3, which was a hand-me-down 😀
@@izzatfauzimustafa6535 and don't forget the crotch vent!! Hahaha!! That should have been carried on. I would buy this car just for that feature, lol!!🤣🤣🤣
@@izzatfauzimustafa6535 another feature that this car has and the blm/flx don't have is auto down driver side power window. Correct me if I'm wrong, even the current saga didn't have this feature 😅
@@austinejames6311 Spot on! My FLX doesn't have auto up and down electric window on the driver side. Cost-cutting measure in FLX is very trivial for its era lol
You can tell the mileage is true by looking by the seats which are super clean, the original decals on the door and also the horn button on the steering wheel. Majority of Iswaras out there with high mileage usually have broken horn buttons due to age factors. Another thing is, the wiper stalk which still have the original white fonts labelling. Yes, this is trully 25,000km car. Really rare these days to find a decent condition Iswara.
6:20 Not just the doors. Even the rust could appear on the boot and also along the top of the car. It is due to the “glue”. I had one Saga last time. I change all the doors etc. The rust just could not be removed and for a long term measure replacing them is the easiest way. After so many years this car seldom being used that’s why the rust appear just merely. Chris - Proton Arena next! Or Toyota KE30. 😀 🙏
Thanks for the feedback Jay!! Yup, apparently it was the glue, wow. Must have been one helluva strong glue!!🤣 I would love to review an Arena, let's see what I can wrangle, stay tuned!!🙏🏽🤞🏾😉
Damn, mydad used to own one. His first brand new car. I remembered all of us so happy and not long before we all go touring all pver malaysia in that car. Exactly the same as u got there, same! Lol!
@@ChrisWeevilGarage aih... 19 years old with that kind a mileage, mmg worth it la. One reason my nephews called it Silver Tortoise, because it's so slow during hill climb and the car is silver in color... hahaha. And guess ada kena mengena dengan idea movie P. Ramlee.
sat in a few of these before long time ago. always remember that weird shaped steering wheel and the bintang and moon logo on it. (before the proton logo replaced it right) the clock on the dashboard, and the buttons on the side. brings back memories, tho not my car la. haha (just suddenly remember, i had my driving lesson in this car!, yeah, the gear lever reminded me. man, brings back more memories now!! especially the going up hill, pull the brake, then go again part while learning in the driving school ) used to love driving manual, while now in my 30s , forgot how, only knows auto.
Ooh, u must try and get another manual someday, it's like riding a bicycle, u never forget, it'll all come back to you 😃 Thanks for watching and sharing that memory!! Yup these cars hold a special place in my heart too!! The sedan variant was the first car I bought with my own money 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😊
Chris Wee true, after getting my licence, only auto car at home, while driving them I just feel the same as u do. Manual is like real car driving. U have the control over the gears shifting . Doubt I will have the chance to get another manual any time soon. But I’ll be adding a ‘16 F55 cooper s to my garage soon. 😆
Chris Wee and the sort of facelift model of the saga iswara after that ( the one fitted with sports exhaust and mild body kit if not mistaken) comes in silver colour only. I was like I wish I can have that car!
My late father used to have two Iswara back in the early 90s. The 1st is a company car, a 1993 1.5s Sedan MT and the 2nd is his own car, a 1994 1.3s Sedan MT. I still remember what he said about the 1.3s when he first got the car, "Is it Proton got mistakenly put a wrong 1.3 badge on this car? This car feel the same power as the 1.5." Too bad sold it after 21 years of owning, to buy the Saga FLX (it CVT is a crap)... Really miss the good old gal, even though sometimes the speedometer need a tight slap on the dashboard to wake it up and UHU glue here & there in the cabin😄😄
Hahahaha!! Thanks for sharing that memory Weiho, enjoyed reading it. To me, these were still the best generation of Sagas. The current one is very good too, but just about everything in between that and this, I wouldn't touch with a 20-foot pole. The LMST? Shiversome!!🤣
Thanks too for reviewing the Proton Iswara. Bring back all those memorable moments of the car. It’s a car that brings me and my sisters to our first day of school and transport us back home when we graduated. That car also helped us obtain our L & P licence.. That LMST omg.. That is the car that recycle itself, especially those dashboard.. crack easily and sticky like glutinous rice..😂😂
@@weihotan205 urgh...the LMST, what a pile of poop, sorry that's one car that never should have been made. The way they cut costs on that cars production should be deemed illegal 😞😞😞

Awesome!! I've only had 2 Sagas in my life, a Megavalve 1.3 and Iswara 1.3, both sedans, both manual, and I really liked them both. Very fond car memories of them, and my dad's Iswara 1.5 auto too 🙏🏽👍🏾😊
Nice job Chris testing the Evergreen kereta rakyat, the legendary Saga, Iswara. Is it the 1998 or 1999 model? Coz got clarion head, wood panelling and Lace seat cover..., My first ever car bought is 1988 Saga 1.5 I (M) Aeroback, yes a manual Istimewa model with Magma 8 valve SOHC, quite rare since most I or Istimewa model comes with 3 speed auto. Bought it in 1995 from my sister. Standard from the outside only fitted with 14" rims. Mostly std items only changed full exhaust system to Everco and Quarter race Matspeed Camshaft. Inside only upgraded audio from OEM Blaupunkt to Clarion head, 2 amps, 6 JBL spekers, sound insulator and Momo steering. Superb car with even some Saturday Night CCT at Batu 3 speedway, hehehe. The manual gb burst at 240k mileage due to failed 3rd gear. Sold it to my brother at 2005, and he keep it until now, but the car now just lying around with failed gb again, failed carburettor, ac system and rust. Still figure whether to restore (5-8k budgetted) or just sold.
Thanks for sharing that great car memory!! The model is from year 2000 as per the title of the video. Yes I remember the Istomewa model, the "i" in the same was for that, not fuel-injection, hahaha!!!🤣🤣🤣
this nostalgia was in almost every malaysian household, still rmb my house had a wira and all of the stuff has been run down but the only thing work is the damn indestructible engine LOL
Hahahaha!! Many thanks to Mitsubishi, it was a great partnership. This car brought back a tonne of memories for me, its sedan sibling was the very first car I bought with my own money 😊😊😊
It's remain me to the old memories 😁... my father also bought the same model like you reviewing same features but it came with 3 spoke steering wheel and it's light green color back in 2001... he bought from EON and it was my father 1st car back then buy brand new as the malaysian says 'koyak plastik' car and at that time i just 2 years old 😂... after 3 years own that car if not mistaken he added the front lip, changing the wheel to 15 inch, lowering the car and upgrade the exhaust system as that was the trend for modify the saga iswara at that time 😂... there's a lot sweet and bit memory but sadly the car was not longer with our family when my father trade in the iswara A/B with a waja at used car dealer back in 2006... totally miss that car and only the owners manual and the pictures with that car are left 😅.... sometimes when i'm take a ride as passenger in iswara, the memory will remain in my mind as the saga iswara has a lot sentimental value to me and because this iswara i become a proton enthusiast 😂😂 from childhood to teenager today i will not missed to see the latest proton cars in showroom or roadshow 😂 P/S : the door air press is not the original one as the original one are the clear transparent with a EONTECH logo on it 😁 and the gear knob for sure it's not the original car as the original gear knob are match with the wood insert at the dashboard and look shiny as what i remember 😁 maybe the gear knob are aftermarket one that previous owner throwing the original knob to garbage and changing the sporty aftermarket gear knob 😂 that later they change to the same pattern gear knob but doesn't match that because of it's a aftermarket one 😁 and that sticker stripe at the door that my father called 'sticker bodoh' back then that cost RM130++, he peel it after a year own that car 😂.... Thanks for this review Chris Wee 😁 it remind me to the old days hahaha
Aww man, thank YOU for the awesome car memories bro, really enjoyed reading it. Yep this model holds a lot of good memories for me too. In total I reckon me and my family have gone thru about 10 Protons in our lives, and I still have a Waja. The company has definitely had its ups and downs, but many of us have remained faithful to our 1st national carmaker. Thanks again for sharing that car memory bro 👍🏾🙏🏽😊
The manual gear shift in an old Iswara is the best. Light and precise to shift. All current Proton manual gear shift feel heavy and chunky. Btw, those sport rims are classic!
My mom used to own one as well and it is also red in colour but unfortunately,my parents decided to sell it off as they want a bigger car. I remember crying because the car had so much sentimental value and memorable moments. How I wish to find back the car 😭
Aww, I know the feeling!! Cars tend to become part of the family for sure, my mum cried when dad replaced her Ford Escort with a Honda Civic many, many years ago, I recall that vividly. Thanks for watching and sharing that car memory bro, much appreciated 🙏🏽🙏🏽👍🏾😊
I used to have a 1993 1.5i auto iswara sedan, that car comes some sweet features, very nice material seat cushion, angle adjustable headrest, auto side mirror, 2 x power windows switch at door panel, rear seats back foldable. Too bad I sold it after 2 years ownership.... Now I'm looking to buy one unit again, maybe 1993 1.5i auto or 2003 special edition 1.3 manual. XD
Bro.. the original meter could have been rosak already.. that meter could be a replacement one.. my iswara last time also like that.. new meter starts from “0”. This car was the best one produced by proton. So tahan & long lasting.. steering very light & the gear clicks nicely.. 🤩🤩👍🏼👍🏼
I drove the Saga Iswara for 10 years...man these cars were made to last. Rain or shine, can go through. Simple to repair and maintain. Full tank can get almost 500km (Highway driving). Not kidding
I remember when i booked my Wira in 1995... accessories were pretty much a forced item... this lace cover, front fog lamps, front cornering lamps, door decals, rear 'motorized' sunshade and my favorite claw-like gear lock... haha.... and then Honda forced us to take air-fresheners, those cheap window blinds and a mountain bike with the CRV... lol....
The days of "Standard Options", a total contradiction in terms, hahaha!!! Yup, those were the days. If u refuse them, u have to wait a very long time for your car, what a shit scam, glad those days are over 😁😁😁
Just wonder, what model that you booked your wira. Is it 1.5 model ?? Hope you reply me because I really love to hear your story. From you got it until now. Please. I don't mind if its in Malay. Hope you notice this 😍😊
Omg hahahaha my mom had a wira sedan . It had those exact 90s decal down near the doors. It was always shaded so it never had rust problems. I'd pay $25000 for this if the mileage is indeed authentic

A Chris Wee treatment time the car would make it damn near perfect..
Thanks for the feedback Palani, sorry for the late response!!🙏🏽
It's still a very hardy car indeed, and we'll maintained it will last a lifetime!!🙏🏽👍🏾😀
My father owns a 1999 1.3S iswara aeroback, however he mainly drives an automatic 1.5GLi proton wira. Surprising, both of the cars still have their power locks always working.
Nice!! Those cars will go on forever if properly maintained, kudos to your dad!!🙏🏽👍🏾😊
Wish there were more cars like this! Low mileage, well kept, by 1 owner!
Right?? Such a versatile car, I love it!! Many good memories of this model 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😃
The interior finish quality and material far far better than today's B segment cars. Love the steering wheel.
That steering wheel design is so iconic, and the little nubs for your thumbs at the 10 & 2 o'clock position, lol! Lovely 🙏🏽😀👍🏾
Watching this after 3 years! This car is mint. Whoever gotten this, can bring straight to car shows.
Indeed!! Quite a gem of a find 😃👍🏽

used to have the sedan version during my colleague years, 1.3 manual as well.

Inside only upgraded audio from OEM Blaupunkt to Clarion head, 2 amps, 6 JBL spekers, sound insulator and Momo steering. Superb car with even some Saturday Night CCT at Batu 3 speedway, hehehe. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Damn happy to read this!! All the best bro, go for it!! #yolo #noregrets 😃😃😃🙏🏽👍🏾
Bro.. the original meter could have been rosak already.. that meter could be a replacement one.. my iswara last time also like that.. new meter starts from “0”. This car was the best one produced by proton. So tahan & long lasting.. steering very light & the gear clicks nicely.. 🤩🤩👍🏼👍🏼
Nope. Mileage verified by the wkshop that's been taking care of the car, single owner, an uncle who just uses the car around his taman 😊
I drove the Saga Iswara for 10 years...man these cars were made to last. Rain or shine, can go through. Simple to repair and maintain. Full tank can get almost 500km (Highway driving). Not kidding
I believe it!! Yes indeed, these earlier Protons were real workhorses 👍🏾🙏🏽😊
Hope you notice this 😍😊
Keta legend ni..
Betul! 🙏🏽😊
Teringat naik teksi masa kecik2. 😌
Aww, good memory!!! Thanks for sharing that 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽👍🏾😉
Omg hahahaha my mom had a wira sedan . It had those exact 90s decal down near the doors. It was always shaded so it never had rust problems. Had the same exact Clarion stereo and those "upmarket" wood trims. Bought it in the year I was born. We sold it to a friend for 7k. Sad to see it go ☹️😢. It was a loyal steed that never broke down once.
Aww, thanks for sharing that memory bro, nice one!! Hey, get another, just to relive those memories!!🙏🏽👍🏾😃
@@ChrisWeevilGarage looking to get those first generation wira with the giant orange rear indicators hahahah. Always fine those have an appealing 90s vibe
@@usopyeh2340 those rear light are very 90's 😍
I see the side sticker decals and I click on the video.
Hahahaha! Those decals are so recognisable 😀
They call it a soda cup pattern or something like that? You definitely don't see much of that anymore. Soda cups nor cars.
@@germaineliew2012 all gone already cos they didn't last very long. Can't recall what they called the design, hahaha!! So that means this car has never been repainted 😀
Hi Chris, if possible, do a video about your life, e.g. from your adolescent days and your life struggle and up to now, how did you become a motoring journalist. Sort of an inspirational video. I'm sure many are interested to know. Thanks
Already did one!! Earlier this year, but yeah, maybe a refresher on how it's been after a year, thanks for the suggestion!!🙏🏽😃
@@ChrisWeevilGarage sorry, so many of your video, didn't notice that 🙏
@@barry9838 no problem at all, it was quite a while back 🙏🏽👍🏾😊
Woahh.. tempat tayar spare dia sgt bersih..
Spare tayar & jack mcm tak pernah keluar tgk matahari, hahaha!!😀👍🏾👍🏾
@@ChrisWeevilGarage hahaha.. betul2... saya punya 2004 1.3 satria punya bonet habis berlubang dah.. masuk air.. 😭🤣
Aku nk sangat pakai keta ni tapi bila tengok kat used car, mudah tengok mcm keta terbengkalai. Kalau lah ada yang mcm dalam vid ni confirm aku beli. Hmmm
Kan?? Sama jugak dgn saya bro. Keta model ni berlambak kat Mudah, tapi kebanyakan dah ubahsuai, atau hampir nak jadi scrap dah. Bila pertama kali npk keta ni, mcm terjumpa berlian dlm sampah 😃😃😃
I love this car
It's still a damn good car indeed, love it too 😀🙏🏽👍🏾
I bought my 98 sedan 1.5 for 3k...it was my first bonus from my paycheck...that was 3 years ago..the moment i took that car...i drove myself to johor and came back on the same day to kl..just to see how good is 4G series endurance...
Nice!! Thanks for that trip down memory lane bud, good one!! Yeah, the powertrains on these cars were exceptional, still going strong 👍🏾😊
@@ChrisWeevilGarage ya...it's unbelievable experience...end of this month i want to drive it to the north.
Mind-blowing low mileage, wowww
Verified!! Incredible, I couldn't believe it 😃😃😃
I don't even have to drive the car and i can already tell that it feels like as if it was untouched
Indeed, a real time-warp machine this 👍🏽😀
The interior is so good for a 90s car
It really is in time-warp condition, brilliant specimen 👍🏾😊
In my view for the wheel of the car you review....
I think it might be in 1999 or early 2000 bcoz, during that time the saga used the new wheels which got on that red saga aeroback...
Yup, as per the title of the video, year 2000 😊
The little rust is believed to be the type of welding glue they use at that time for all protons. Wira is the biggest victim...
Right?? All at the same spots on the rear doors. Damn, that must have been one terror powerful glue!!😱
kt rumah aku ade sebiji plet PEN. tahun 2000.. abah aku beli tender.. bank lelong tahun 2002 tpi ape masalah aku xtau laa.. kereta tu dh 18 tahun terparking ja bawah garaj. accesories part semua mcm baru keluar kedai😅
Terbaik! Yg tu kita panggil "barn find", haha!! Keta tak gerak selama 18 tahun? Wow 😱
Chris Wee tu laa.. mng bid dgn 27k harga kereta tu.. org dtg nk beli tpi xcapai target sume mnx beli lg murah dari harga abh beli. pastu x trjual.. simpan aje laa😅.. aku ingt nk hntr bengkel la kereta tu servis bg hidup semula.. igt nk guna kereta laa skrg..😆
@@muhammadnizamfahmibinahmad7530 klu blh, buat gitu bro, bestnyer klu keta ni jalan semula. Mileage pon pasti kurang dari Iswara merah ni, haha!!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😊
Calang2 condition saga camnie....rare nie nk dpt saga condition cantik nie....klau cmnie cecah jugak la atas 4k rasenye
Betul bro, rare giler, mileage pon mcm setahun pakai je. I pon mintak oner klu nak jual tak, dia tak mau, hahaha!!😁😁😁
Hey Chris. Don't tell me that you bought this. I will jealous HAHAHAHA. I want to be honest with you. I am Proton Fan Boy HAHAHAHA. That seat cover, is rare.
No, the owner is keeping this car and I don't blame him!! I would keep it too 😊😊😊
2024 still driving this car around the town yoooooo legends!!!
They call it a tank iirc, still going strong 💪🏼 😄
Wow this Amazing !!
Hi bro!! Yup, giler btl dpt test keta ori ni, btl2 low mileage, hahaha!!😀🙏🏽👍🏾
I had the 2007 saga lmst. Engine was very good. Cheaper to maintain but had to sell becoz my dad wanted to trade in for a new saga plus parts are getting harder to source for the saga iswara models 1985 - 2007. Nevetherless, the model was a great Saga for Malaysians.
Yes indeed!! It's our "people's car". Thanks for sharing that car memory NY 🙏🏽👍🏾😊
owhhh my 2021 car..really good iswara
Much better than what came after 🤭
Boes i want ask u this car when original come out from proton the aircond panel already have light want?
U mean the switches, no I don't think so 😊
Oh okok tq
My dad have one of this iswara A/B but last model of 2007 if i am not wrong what the last model year.
Nice!! So many dads had this, there are at least 10 similar comments here, I love it, cos MY dad had one too!!😃😃😃🙏🏽👍🏾
I don't have any clue how you manage to find this "treasure" and many more like always.😁
This one was a fluke!! I just happened to be at the wkshop when the uncle arrived with it, and when I saw the original decals on the body I went to take a closer look. Asked the uncle if I could make a video and he kindly agreed. Now I wanna ask if he'll sell it to me 🤭🤭🤭🤞🏾
@@ChrisWeevilGarage Nice subject to start a conversation. Hopefully another one in the garage soon. Goodluck!
PM me best price...seriously. really like this vintage...miss a 90s a lot..simplicity ad beauty
PM tak layan. Hahaha!! There are offers here for 2.8k, 5k, 6k & 8k already 😁
Hi Chris, is it possible to review iswara 2003 special edition ? Thank you :D
If i can find one, sure!!👍🏾🤞🏾😃
Reminds me of my mum’s 1996 Proton Iswara
Nice!! Reminds me of my first car, same, but a sedan variant, but white 😊😊😊
My first was a Datsun Coupe
The side stripes stickers still there ! Thats so called mandatory accesories
Yup!! Still there, which means this is original paint! Red always fades faster than other colours (yellow too) so it's really in remarkable condition this unit, and the mileage is beyond comprehension. I did that mileage in 8 months with my ex Saga Iswara 1.3 sedan 😂
Chris, you reminds me the Proton Knight 😊
Holy cow, the mileage is the same as my Persona which is 1.5 years old now OMG.
Hahahaha!! I did this mileage on 8 months with my (then) new Iswara!!😂😂😂
chris, if you can find the saga knight, please review it
Pretty much the same car no? Just a different variant. Oh wait, 8V engine!!😃😃😃
nostalgia sungguh.
Kan?? Brought back so many pleasant memories of my early years of motoring 😊😊😊
Hi Chris. Please do a review on Wira 1.6XLi!
I had one!! But mine was a Millennium Edition. There's one for sale at the same shop I bought the BB from, let's see if hell let me review it 😉😉😉🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

Yes, very much like new!!👍🏾😊
@Jan kch I've asked about 3 times already, it's not for sale, haha!!😂
Bro u gotta have this!!!
I know right?? Where to find another like this?? Even the decals are original 😀
What a gem. The new owner will be very lucky, if that car is for sale that is. Or the new owner is probably you, Chris. Lol
A gem indeed!! I already made a decent offer, but he ain't selling...Not yet anyway 😉🤞🏾😁
