I know this is a late comment, but I live in the Eastern panhandle and grew up right on a great trout stream.. I have seen trout eat mullberries that have fallen in the the water and have caught them with them in their digestive system.. Pretty cool to see someone else has seen it because I've told a few people and don't think they believed me lol! Validation!! Great content been subbed for awhile just caught this video.. Keep it coming and tight lines from Mineral County!
@@FishHawk i think it's a summertime behavior them eating the mullberries or any other!! The berry bushes also provide shade for them, so food and shade is a win win for em i suppose?!?! Hardy County has some great fishing opportunities too, that's cool you grew up right up the road from me.. Thanks for the reply and as always TIGHT LINES!
Wow nice footage here where i live Trout fishing is something at this time of year is pretty much none existent. we really don't have any big streams around where there is a lot of natural production. So i only really get to go in the spring time and little in the fall and early winter. Thanks for the video i really do enjoy trout fishing they fight hard are great table fare and a ton of fun to catch..
Thanks! I have always fished downstream for some reason. Not sure why I started doing it that way. Right or wrong, it works for me. I know all the experts say to fish upstream.
Fish Hawk Result speaks for itself. Good work. I wade bridge to bridge here in WI so upstream is the only way to go. I try to keep from kick in dirt on downstream fish but general go upstream. Happy Fishing. R
Thank you! I try to be careful when fishing downstream. Like you said, don't want to kick dirt and mud downstream into the fish's face. Happy fishing & tight lines!
My favorite spinners are Rooster Tail spinners. Black or white is my go to. I usually use 1/16 or 1/8 oz depending on how deep the water is. I also like the Mepps Comet Mino. Good luck!
Just stumbled on your channel and I’ve watched like 5 of your videos now. Good stuff man. Jealous seeing you slay those trout. No trout where I live in Hawaii. I’d have to travel to another island for that lol.
Thank you! Unfortunately Trout season is pretty much over until the Fall season. They stopped stocking in May. I can't wait to start Trout fishing again in the Fall and next Spring. There will be a lot of Trout fishing videos in the future. Stay tuned!
Top of the line trout videos stumbled across them and have spent half the night watching them haha some great looking spots it’s crazy seeing videos of people fishing the same places I fish on the regular kinda cool actually to see what another person is having luck with catching fish I trout fish a lot and bass fish a good bit it would be cool to see ya fishin one day out there heck may have to meet up and swap a couple of good trout spots! Great videos though!
Yeah I have to agree. WV does a pretty good job. How far from WV are you? You can always come fish! I fish VA every once in a while. Thanks for watching!
Im sure you have mentioned this is previous videos. But what is your rod and reel set up when targeting trout in streams? I am trying to get into stream trout fishing, live in MN. Thanks!
In this video I was using an Abu Garcia Cardinal reel and a medium action Gander Mtn rod. I have since upgraded to a Field & Stream TEC-Lite Rod (5'6" ultra light) and an Okuma Stratus V10 reel. For streams I like to keep it small and light. Thanks for watching!
I'm in SE Michigan (Wayne County). I would have to travel out of the urban jungle to get to those. There's only one coldwater stream in my county and it's been getting warmer and warmer from urban expansion (sad). I've got to travel at least 2 hours north to find them, but it would be worth it.
For the best fishing in WV I have to travel about the same, at least 1.5 hours. I live in Charleston. Fish early Morning or near late evening when water is warmer
Thank you! They're stocked so they only average about 10-12 inches. Every now and then they stock some big breeder trout. Anywhere from 3-5 lbs. WV state record Brook is 7.6 lbs
You have awesome videos man good job!! Im just getting into trout fishing and was wondering if the brook get bigger than 6 to 9 inches in the streams during summer! Iv found a good spot near me but i cant seem to get hooked onto a big one just small ones i just wasn’t sure if they dont get bigger unless they move out the the lakes!
Damn I get soooo excited every time I see your rod dance and bounce it makes my heart race and I find myself twitching and setting the hook myself hehe. You on fishbrain? You should be
You should download fishbrain. It’s an app to keep track of all your catches. What you used, where you caught them, when you caught them and how big and heavy they are. It’s great

Alright thanks for responding and responding so fast, I have only seen a few of your vids but I’m definitely going to subscribe. Keep it up!
No prob man! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Actually, Gander "Mountain" was purchased by Camping World.....now it's Gander Outdoors.
Great fun. I wonder if it was the heat that made them all so lazy about being released.
I bet that had something to do with it. I never really thought about it but I think you're right.
did you put that berry back in its mouth?
Honestly I can't remember. I think I tried to but it fell back out lol
I keep rewatching your videos there just amazing fish
Thank you! :)
why didn't you keep those was it not the legal size
They were legal size. Just decided to put them back for someone else to catch.
