That would be awesome, only issue is how that'd work since lightning claws are usually equipped in pairs. The primaris lightning claws seen on the Sword Brethren kit could allow a pistol to be held in the off-hand still, or they could do just a single lightning claw but that would feel a bit odd.

Now if only it had the kind of impact force that it has always had in the lore. A combat knife staggers more reliably than a weapon meant to rip holes in tanks. Hopefully that gets fixed, because it really sucks having to set up your attack for a week and a half and then get murdered because the enemy you clapped with the pool noodle didn't stagger and just guns you down.
I'll have you know that Combat knife is one of the sharpest and most durable blades the Imperium has ever produced, it was discovered by the Mechanicus in an STC containing blueprints for ancient but superior tech from before their AI turned on them and wrecked the development of technology to a snails pace crawl. I don't know exactly how it made improvements on the previous knife, you'd think that tech would be reletively stagnant in terms of development, but they had a shittier one at one point lore wise. It's superior in every way to the previous iteration of the combat knife, it's quite a bit LIGHTER as well as more durable and sharper. It has been such an effective addition to the Imperium in general that they gave the people that discovered that STC and developed the Knife great awards and honors and are consider heroes of the entire Imperium. I have been trying to make the powerfist work since launch, and while i really appriciate that you also showed yourself in a messy situation, i can't say i agree that its a strong weapon. On paper it seems really good but in every single one of your combat clips you barely could scrape out a combo of 2 attacks, that makes the armor restores at the 4th and 5th in the chain obsolete. Especially since you really need the armor when you are almost flatlining, at that moment you need to be able to count on your weamon. If you do a leap with the powersword you also get the opportunity to gunstrike and i found that i usually end up cannonpunching everything and ironicly the 2 buffs for cannonpunch are at the back of the perktree (requires a straight top or bottom pick, really bad). I disagree with it giving you more manouverability, feels the same with powersword. If you try the chain 3 things can happen: enemy strikes back, wich is baffeling , because lorewise it can crumple up tanks, (HOW IS HE NOT STUNNED?), so break the chain or eat the damage. Enemy jumps/ports away, or you get shredded by ranged because you are is one spot too long. And i heard what you said, you dont need to charge it all the way but you are still in one spot way too long. I leveled up my fist first because the relic seemed really good, and was so dissapointed with it that i ended up leveling the powersword. To summarise, it feels ramshackle thrown together, its baffeling that a simple tzaangor with a shield can tank a powerfist for days. It should not be a mob clear weapon but something to feed a carnifax, in its face. Multiple things dont seem to be in the right place, and they could make it slow, but it should pack a serious punch especially ageinst armor.
Agree, current power fist dont have stagger nor reach to be "best" in slot. Instead of punching the air i can just do 1 swing into power whirl for unstopable hit and reset if i need to parry or dodge and fist simply dont have this capacity. Devs should just make charged fist unstopable it would sovle tzangor problem and it should increase stagger on majoris so you can actually finish combo.
First, the power fist can reach the fourth and fifth combos faster than any other weapon. No one said gaining armor with only those last combos was necessary since cannon puch can get you armor, which may have been a misunderstanding. Second, in the video, a specific move, the ground pound, was being tested, and it didn't need to keep being used. Third, there is nothing wrong with only needing your first or second combos, especially with the power fist, since you can quickly charge all attacks into direct heavies. Fourth, all melee weapons will have to deal with skill issues, such as enemies jumping away or dealing with ranged enemies based on skill level or class. Fifth, relic weapons will always be different from non-relic weapons, and some weapons will be better at various levels, so comparing a non-relic to a relic one is moot. However, that may affect one's preference for learning and using the weapon, and preference is not a feature of the weapon on what it is capable of. Lastly, I agree that some enemies tanking the weapon are silly, but that can also be said about other weapons, and more of the game balancing does not fit the lore. I don't think he said in the video that the Power Fist is better than the Power Sword; he only liked the Power Fist better. Then, he went on to explain why. The Power Sword is a great weapon, but he mentioned why he didn't like it and what the Power Fist could do that the Power Sword could not.
The latest patch allows armour segments to be gained from parrying regular minoris enemies. This change alone changes the way fighting hoardes works. People don't need to jump around anymore just to get gunstrikes going.
I find the powerfist better with assault, since the charge for the power fist has been buffed and taking the assault perks of not being knocked down when charging helps MASSIVELY
The damage in the patch notes was to max charged heavy hits. The damage on ground shake is still kind of meh, but the real issue is that the range on it is bugged. You can even see this in your video. It is definitely not 10 meters. The power wave distance in general is bugged. Without the range perk you get a range extension equivalent to a few feet (about one step of your character). Tide of battle for armor with the low health condition is just terrible. It takes so long to execute that it's just bad with that condition. The power fist would be great if they fixed the range bugs, got rid of the post setting pause, and gave the heavy hits some more forward movement on top of that because right now it's just a slow chainsword shoulder rush with less range that majoris dodge.
Calls it a ThunderFist realises he messed it then calls is a HammerFist XD love it, great video, i've been struggling to like the POWERFIST XD over the chain sword or power sword so hopefully after this i'll click more with the ThunderPowerHammerFist
We do need to be able to paint the Gauntlet separately from the arm, though. It feels a little silly to be stuck with an entire red arm. Makes it feel like our marines are like Disney's C-3PO
Speed on parry is huge from weapon to weapon. I noticed the same when I swapped from chainsword to knife on Vanguard. You are SO FAST with knife you can easily weave a parry against three majoris all attacking you
it baffles me that the power fist is described as a horde clearing weapon rather than an individual targeting weapon. the thunder hammer is the ideal horde clearing weapon so why is the assault if wanting to excel at individual targeting, isolated only to the chain sword. the only hope is lightning claws excel at individual targeting for when they are added because having the power fist be a horde clearer while having the range of half of your outstretched arm is ridiculous.
Power fist is for heavy attack enjoyers. Try using it with a focus on heavy attacks. Lights are for getting around and heavies are for actually bonking stuff.
Thank you for this video. This is what I was looking for to help it make sense. The combos did not work how I expected and this helped clarify it. Excited to put my sword down to give the close range bonk a go.
Started with the base power fist this morning, now at 11pm I have the entire tree filled out. Currently watching this just for my fix because of PSN being down
Based on the gameplay I think powerfist WONT work on assault because it takes you too long to clear a group and move on to the swarm of ranged enemies pelting you compared to the hammer clearing the group in one aftershock or a heavy attack or two. As bulwark you have more innate durability and occasionally your shield fully blocks ranged attacks while you’re fighting, you don’t have that protection against ranged as assault.
Went and tried it out for a few missions --- definitely going to be in rotation now. It's a fun and very effective weapon once you get the hang of it! Thanks man
Overall the combat after the patch feels more fluid, you’re rewarded for being aggressive but it’s still easy to get overwhelmed if you’re not with your battle brothers or paying attention to your surroundings
Long combos are stupid, because you will never get to use them outside of already super easy to handle situations Not to mention making your skills rely on your being at 30% health is terrible as well
No man, having a weapon that requires you to stand in place clenching your fist like an idiot, with a build that also rewards you for being one good slap from death (in a game where every fucking moment of action feels like you're stuck in a tumble dryer with a box of knives and rocks), is *amazing* design!
Great video series. Been subbed sinced BG3 and glad to see a similar taste in games! I don't feel like other channels respect my time as much as yours does. Also canon punch is one of my favorite things. Keep up the great work!
Oh and I wanted to mention that thinking about bulwark play as more like monster hunter (combos and positioning) and less helldivers was the way to go. Especially with powerfist, using shield bash and canon punch to control an area and take full advantage of the aoe really helps with minoris control. Canon punching out of the banner aoe then combo knocking enemies back into the banner/shock perk areas really helps maximize.
Steer your talent tree on sword that you get +50% damage on power rake. Then use power style at all times, on majoris enemies and higher just light>heavy>heavy repeat as needed. You feel like Sauron playing the sword, hurling the minoris around. And I can get some crazy damage on the endscreen with it. The light combo of power style also has some crazy mobility, you fly around real fast.
I stay in light style for solo majoris or a group of 2-3 minoris, but power style for everything else. That damage boost per light attack stacks up when fighting a single majoris or bigger enemy.
Damn, I'm so used to using Banner into execute for the full heal, didn't even consider that stim could do it at any time now, and cure a wound while it's at it. Awesome! Great video on the Fist - it's still not for me (I'm Power Sword on Bulwark and Chainsword on Assault), but it's nice to demonstrate its usefulness to the battle brothers.
Honestly you’re still better off using banner with execute and letting your teammates have more healing. Many skilled bulwarks I’ve played with leave all healing to teammates considering they get a full heal every time they ult, only taking a medpack if their whole team is maxed on medpacks.
@@DakkaDakka12 Of course - you should still try to Banner on a teammate's execute if it'll be effective. Just interesting to know about the stims. I know I've done it once (in the entirety of the time since the patch came out), when the Bulwark on our team wasn't great about dropping the Banner for my teammate or I if we needed it, and only did it for themselves - so after taking some damage from something (I think a wave + Helbrute) I kept holding my stim and hanging around the Bulwark until sure enough, they dropped their Banner for themsleves, and I got to grab ~20% extra healing from it for myself.
Great vid! I loved the power fist before the buff, and now feel it is the clear best weapon for the bulwark. The parry aoe perk makes large groups of enemies simple, and now the power fist gives the bulwark some much needed single target damage as well :D One little tip for for the terminids, if you ever get hit by the unblockable attack from the lash warriors, you can immediately perfect parry their follow-up attack on your recovery, helps you get back into the flow of things xD
You video help a lot for person who love fist fight thank. But usually it about individual perspective of which weapon their use, if you feel it, you learn it and utilize it. It sometime about how to initiate with your imagination and your instinct.
So basically it the same loop of attacks but each attack can be charged! Even the dodge attacks! Okay as goofy as the weapons looks i think i am gonna start FISTING!
Btw u can basically animation cancel into dodge on bulwark by holding block spamming dodge. Can also cancel the recovery of attacks with block to gunstrike faster
Thank god for you. I desperately want the fist to be my favourite weapon and I won't rest until it is! An Imperial Fist without a fist is just an Imperial, and that's non-descript.
I'd like to have a power fist for each hand. Use both together to make an energy shield. This game is very creative and makes me think of variants. Or have another option or class that lets us use a power staff with a blade at both ends. The special ability to have a melee shield for that class, and use the staff to fire plasma or energy beams.
Im having a ton of fun with this game and I'm thankful they wree able to make a passion project like this, very rare these days. After trying a bunch of weapons out im finding the combat to be very restrictive. You seem to have to rely on perfect parry and dodge no matter what weapon you use. Hopefully they can make block a different play style at some point. Looking foward to more conent from you and to see what these devs have in store for us.
The power sword (in both styles) and the Thunder hammer have good dash attacks that chain into gun strikes (better for assault), but as you say they are slower. That's usually how I've kept the survivability going as Assault (Dash attack, Gun strike, Jump, Ground slam, etc). The animation as you say though is better on Power Fist. I'm still leveling the Power Fist. It is a bit painful until you get to Relic. I also agree balance trait is fine. I'm actually struggling a bit on the parry with the fist because it is much quicker (used to the slower weapons timing).
I changed to power fist from sword around lvl 8 on my bulwark. Did some runs switching between them, and just stuck to power fist ever since. I really enjoy the control over my mobility with the fist (maybe I'm just bad at the sword, idk). Cannon punch + gunstrike combo is pretty consistent and easy. I go full bottom row for the cannon punch damage though, my play is super cannon punch heavy, and I also play with random teammates, so if a run goes south, it's much easier to recover with dodge spam with the occasional cannon punch + gun strike mixed in.
The biggest issue I have with the fist is sometimes it feels like light attacks don't connect to the enemy even at point blank. Like our character models can't get close enough to each other during that attack animation to actually HIT them. I notice this most with Tzaangors and Warriors if they're facing away from me or when they're at a very minorly different elevation, but also sometimes just in general.
I actually like going with the full bottom tree of perks for Powerfist. When fighting any enemy faction, I find myself doing the Cannon Punch, aka running/backstep attack, a LOT. Doesn't matter what enemy, I'm usually sprinting at them so that's usually the first attack I throw at them, and then I can immediately get into the second hit charge-attack and skip the first attack's ground slam that you don't like. Edit: I see what you mean with the Power Wave distance though. I might actually switch to that once I start leveling my Assault Class.
@@scrawny_ronnie7I do hope they add like, a testing arena or something along the lines of the psykanium in darktide that lets us see the actual damage numbers for everything
Might not be a popular choice, but with assault I don't mind picking the block defense value, as assault has a bigger perfect dodge window. It's not perfect, but if there's anyone that can use block to get those extra stats it's him. Biggest problem with block in the current patch, is you can regain armor on perfect parry from small enemies, whereas you cannot perfect dodge small enemies. Overall it's probably best to stick with balance if you can parry well, but if you can dodge well especially with assault, then maybe try a block weapon.
Unrelated to the power fist but during the gameplay examples when you were talking about the power sword I think that you need to look at the stances as two different weapons. I use the power sword a lot and the only times I switch stances are before heading into combat or a group of enemies. The heavy stance is used for minoris enemies and regaining armor because it will always open up a gun strike on a minoris. Meanwhile the light stance is only for duelling. And as for the whirlwind attack I never use it when I'm within melee range of a majoris enemy, I use it almost exclusively for hordes when I'm good on armor, it does more damage than the heavy stance's sweeps but it doesn't open enemies up to gun strikes as often.
Been watching your videos, really like your guide layout with the TLDW in the beginning then right into your details. Keep it up brother, Long live the emperor!
So far my issues with the Power Fist are 2 main things. 1 - Much of the time I can't get far enough into the combos to get to the good hits because of needing to dodge or parry. 2 - I find the tracking on the Power Fist to be weird. I can't tell you how many times I would be swinging on an enemy, and then it pulls me in an odd direction towards a different enemy. I don't have that issue with other melee weapons.
Just my personal experience and opinion: Going for the top line and grabbing the tyranid dmg bonus from the bottom line, ending with "Majoris Slayer" seems to be the best option considering the ground shake perk is bugged/lame in the current state (dmg fall off from distance is huge after 2m, like going down from 62 to 48, then even less the further then enemies are from the point of impact) and that you can now easily stay at full armor with the new changes on minoris parries without the need to get armor segments from the version 2 of thrust jab or back fist (especially since you'll almost never be able to chain that many light/heavy attacks without getting blown by enemies if you don't block/dodge).
I like it better aesthetic wise, sword gets boring to look at after sometime but i do hope tactical or assault gets access to that. Or hell give everyone more access to other weapons hammer bulwark? Hell yeah
I think that his distaste for the power sword is really just that... distaste. Once you master the "stance dance" (which really isn't hard) you'll quickly find that literally everything the power fist does the power sword does better. And it's not just slight improvements. In terms of mobility, speed, single target damage, versatility, hoard control, the ability to constantly set up gun strikes to reave lots of armor the power sword is better at all of it and it's better by magnitudes. I'm not even a super experienced bulwark. My bulwark is level 19 and I just got my relic powersword and lemme tell you I've been shredding through ruthless with it. On the other hand the few games I've tried the powerfist have been a dreadful slog. I it's just slow it's impossible to try and use it's combos under ay sort of duress which in ruthless is a near constant state of affairs.
One thing i would like is more perk points. It is bad enough you cant get every perk but if you deviate from the path at all there will be one you cant get at the end which to me is dumb
Thunder hammer synergises better with assault. It’s literally built for assault to use especially when using the jump slam. That said I like power fists.
Awesome video- I've noticed how the animations and been wondering if these combos count when trying to activate perks, great video. Do you know if the class perk that makes charge attacks do more damage, the one right above non-lethal gun strikes restore armor, count towards the power fist? I don't know if his heavies count as charged attacks.
For PVE the powerfist is great and I will stand by that. Sure ya gotta get the combo working to get it doing real damage but it is basically a faster stronger version of the hammer with only less cleave. The problem is using it in PVP cause you can never get close enough to get that first to work and by the time you do your immediately gunned down before you get your combo off which is why alot of people when playing assault will stick to the power hammer since it kills in just 2 - 3 hits while the fist takes 5 or 6. (In my prefrence) If they do end up buffing it again, they should just make it slightly faster but with less cleave, this way its on par with the power sword in speed and can rival the hammer for dealing damage.
Played a little with the power fist since the patch. I found it sluggish, the parry window greatly inferior that the sword (both fencing weapons), the damage and the reach really inconsistent. I just unlocked relic tier and i'll try to apply your advice. This is a weapon that i really like on the tabletop and i want to master it.
4:19 I think cleaving is damage that goes through block. My only hint at what it does is the Cleaving Strike perk from the tactical, also my Hammer has like three cleaving potential but I still hit everything 360° even enemies straight up behind me
I think the bad rep of the powerfist is mainly due to the expectation for it to be a damage weapon - which it is not. Imo it is not supposed to deal a lot of damage because it can make you extremely tanky. I play the bulwark without any of the parry perks with the fist, and it works very, very well if you are into the art of actually tanking damage. The fist is inherently the weapon that can HIT (not nessesarily, kill) most times in a short amount of time because its light attacks has AOE, meaning it is nearly the best melee weapon to gain back contested health (Which is on HIT), this is because contested health bar starts to decay after X seconds and thus you need to be able to dish out as many HITs as possible before that happens, or you actually start losing value. If you are on sword or chainsword, in a situation where you just lost a lot of health and keep hitting, you would have actually lost more health than if you are on a fist after the white bar completely fills/disappears. The perk to give you up to 2 bars of armour with charge4/charge5 takes this to a whole new level. As this rewards you event further for contesting your health and the difficulty now is how to push out the first 3 hits without losing the chain to a parry or a dodge. (It is worth noting that whether an attack will knock you back/stagger you is completely independent of the blue/orange rings and you need to remember which moves you can eat). For blue/orange ring attacks, rather than default to parry, sometimes you should think about whether you should just charge and eat the hit (for example, tyrranid warrior slashes) and not lose your potential to get to the charge4/charge5. As parry equals to at most 1 armour+your current contested health, but a hit + charge4/charge5 will be equal to 2 armour on top of that at the cost of eating 1 hit. Also, non-lethal gunstrikes, honestly, if you want to tank damage, why would you do it immediately after parry? It deals a burst of damage, but it immediately cleanses the dude out of his parry stun to immediately give him more time to interrupt you from your chains. Instead, you should just beat the shite out of the guy you just parried for all the contested health and the potential to get to the 2 armour, as he couldn't move, so couldn't stop you from getting the 2 armour, meaning instead of 1 execution, you can now get 3 executions out of 1 tyranid warrior. By the time he wakes up, you are already holding the hit that gives back 1 armour + contested health in your hand? To be a tank, you do not help your team to win by spending as much of your time dealing as much damage as possible in the middle of a horde, that is called a warrior. You help your team to win by letting the enemy waste as much of theirs on you and funnels safe time and space to your teammates who need it more. Let's say the fists deal 0 damage, as long as the enemy focuses you, every second for that enemy is 30 heavy bolter rounds, a grappnel, a ground pound, a laser fusil or a krak nade unseen.
Fist was the first weapon I ran. I have about 100 hours in now. I'd honestly say the power sword is the overall better choice. The biggest downside is that it's a bit braindead by comparison (which I think is definitely an aspect of your enjoyment here). Like, I'll find myself keeping it in wave mode and just swinging for the fences. You get passive cleaves and disrupts on minoris trash and then as soon as big boys come out, point blank plasma shot into a charged mode swap attack and a dodge/parry and they're already done. And if you like the canon punch gun strike loop, genuinely give the running sword stab a try. It's the same utility with slightly longer reach. Other than that, good vod, good points dude. Keep it up.
I have to say, I actually find the power fist the hardest to perfect parry with. I can parry, but getting that perfect parry, even with a fencing power fist, is much harder (mouse and keyboard).
Powerfist needs some heavy buffs. You can't even realiably interrupt Enemies calling in reinforcements, something i have no problem at all doing with the chainsword. Also it needs a lot more OOMPH. A powerfist should be slow, but when it hit's it should stagger and deal heavy damage. Right now Chainsword is better in every way so far
I'd argue all of the power sword finishers/executions are faster and more responsive than the power fist getting you back in the fight far quicker. The problem I see is that Bulwark players want big damage with the power sword and constantly rake; unlike the power fist, strong stance moves with the power sword are a gamble whereby you're committed to the animation (risk vs. reward). For all intents and purposes, the power sword is a stick and move weapon, with the flexibility of doing more damage when you see an opportunity. The power fist is a great "in your face weapon", but at the expense of speed so it boils down to how you want to play.
Lets be honest, its a legendary weapon that is outperformed by an combat knife. It needs to be buffed again. It feels pathetic. Its a weapon that can punch holes in tank armour. Not a crowed clearer but a weapon that can do massive single armoured target damage. So we know the problem. How do we communicate it to the devs and make them buff it properly?
So how are you getting deep into the combo tree when every 2 attacks its time to parry another enemy? Sometimes it just feels like I'm just doing the first two attacks in a combo over and over because its constantly broken up by parrys.

I dont know why but, Stormshield with Powerfist just looks cursed.
Powerfist only looks right paired with Dreadnaught armor.
@@hulley5223 my captain and lieutenant strongly disagree
I find the powerfist better with assault, since the charge for the power fist has been buffed and taking the assault perks of not being knocked down when charging helps MASSIVELY
Imperial Fists Templar Brethren denier detected
Power Fist has that natively. You don’t get knocked down when charging it.
"I keep wanting to call it thunder fist" - proceeds to call it hammer fist

@@italianspartacus xDDDDDDDDDDD
It’s crazy that the stomp is way better than the power fist slam. Smh
Shhh shhh. You can skip first attack in the combo by charging heavy attack by 1 sec (you need perk) on chain sword
"I CAST FIST!"..chaptarer master Marneus Augustus Calga
the powerfist is my go-to for assault and i love dressing up as a crimson fist for full fisting power
We do need to be able to paint the Gauntlet separately from the arm, though. It feels a little silly to be stuck with an entire red arm. Makes it feel like our marines are like Disney's C-3PO
@Kattbirb hopefully they update that. But for now xenos and heretics are itchin' for a fistin', and the Crimson Fist are here to oblige them.
Lights are for getting around and heavies are for actually bonking stuff.
ya 100% i treated it like a majoris and up killer and had a better time. I definietly kill minor enemies around me with the stagger
Thank you for this video. This is what I was looking for to help it make sense. The combos did not work how I expected and this helped clarify it. Excited to put my sword down to give the close range bonk a go.
Started with the base power fist this morning, now at 11pm I have the entire tree filled out. Currently watching this just for my fix because of PSN being down
The one thing that I love about the power fist is how it can stun lock chaos space marines like the thunder hammer while being faster
Hell ya Power Fist Glory!

Long combos are stupid, because you will never get to use them outside of already super easy to handle situations
Not to mention making your skills rely on your being at 30% health is terrible as well
No man, having a weapon that requires you to stand in place clenching your fist like an idiot, with a build that also rewards you for being one good slap from death (in a game where every fucking moment of action feels like you're stuck in a tumble dryer with a box of knives and rocks), is *amazing* design!

The light combo of power style also has some crazy mobility, you fly around real fast.
seriously.
There is no point swapping styles, just stay power style the entire time.
I stay in light style for solo majoris or a group of 2-3 minoris, but power style for everything else.
That damage boost per light attack stacks up when fighting a single majoris or bigger enemy.
@@DakkaDakka12 my brother in arms, that boost is for light combos, not speed stance.
Heavy stance has light attack combos
Was not expecting a Bilmuri reference 😂 their last album is a 10/10 imo
FUCK YES DUDE! I loved it! Big fan of the Hogcranking!
Great vid! I loved the power fist before the buff, and now feel it is the clear best weapon for the bulwark. The parry aoe perk makes large groups of enemies simple, and now the power fist gives the bulwark some much needed single target damage as well :D
One little tip for for the terminids, if you ever get hit by the unblockable attack from the lash warriors, you can immediately perfect parry their follow-up attack on your recovery, helps you get back into the flow of things xD
You video help a lot for person who love fist fight thank.
But usually it about individual perspective of which weapon their use, if you feel it, you learn it and utilize it.
It sometime about how to initiate with your imagination and your instinct.
Pairing power fist on assault, choice. With the ground pound boost and the boost to the power fist together could put a smile on kharn
I like playing with power fist as assault recently, made me stop sleeping on Vanguard and Heavy and try out Assault more
So basically it the same loop of attacks but each attack can be charged!
Even the dodge attacks!
Okay as goofy as the weapons looks i think i am gonna start FISTING!
The power fist is like the combat knife mixed with thinder hammer, it's sooo sick!
@7:50 bro, I didn't know Franck went off to do his own thing. Bilmuri, is basically countrycore
As always, I really appreciate your content & the effort you put into these videos. This game has so many layers & you explain it well.
Been watching you for years now. Happy to see you're still doing great content! Keep it up its appreciated!
I didnt need this video to convince me to use the power fist
I just like hearing how other people play with it
The sad thing is, trying some of the combos do not stun chaos marines. They are still able to snap out of it and either warp or break your combo
wow, wasn't expecting the Attack! Attack! shoutout lol
Stick stickly babyyy
The power sword (in both styles) and the Thunder hammer have good dash attacks that chain into gun strikes (better for assault), but as you say they are slower. That's usually how I've kept the survivability going as Assault (Dash attack, Gun strike, Jump, Ground slam, etc). The animation as you say though is better on Power Fist. I'm still leveling the Power Fist.
It is a bit painful until you get to Relic. I also agree balance trait is fine. I'm actually struggling a bit on the parry with the fist because it is much quicker (used to the slower weapons timing).
I love the power fist, really like it for assault as well
Amazing video can’t wait wait to use the assault class and Power fist 🤝🏼
Love your TLDR at the start, even though I watch the whole video!
Power fists are so underrated, wish I could also use them in darktide and rogue trader
The biggest issue I have with the fist is sometimes it feels like light attacks don't connect to the enemy even at point blank. Like our character models can't get close enough to each other during that attack animation to actually HIT them. I notice this most with Tzaangors and Warriors if they're facing away from me or when they're at a very minorly different elevation, but also sometimes just in general.
you can also get back the contested health on a finnisher. So you can cue up a finnisher, pop down your flag, preform the finnisher, bang full health.
What do you think about the cannon punch +50% damage. I feel like i use that move to engage on every single fight.
The problem is the running attacks were already like 33% the damage of a regular attack I think
@@scrawny_ronnie7I do hope they add like, a testing arena or something along the lines of the psykanium in darktide that lets us see the actual damage numbers for everything
@@AllegedlySomebody that'd be so nice. Everything is so word of mouth right now and can't really test it for yourself
Dude wth i was looking for a fist guide 2 houers ago, and here you are. Nuice
would be fun af to have the fist on the vanguard and you can charge a heavy attack while you're grappling for a massive damage attack
Personally I just wish we could have a perk or something where the fist retains its charged state once fully charged, at least for one chained combo
Your armor setup is SICK!!!
Been watching your videos, really like your guide layout with the TLDW in the beginning then right into your details. Keep it up brother, Long live the emperor!
That’s truly amazing! Let’s stay in touch!
Dude are you actually italian? Your english is flawless. As a fellow italian, I just wish I had your pronunciation
Thank you for the content, the information you provide is invaluable and time saving.
In your defense I feel like "Thunder Fist" must exist somewhere in 40k lore as a Relic Powerfist lol
Just my personal experience and opinion:
Going for the top line and grabbing the tyranid dmg bonus from the bottom line, ending with "Majoris Slayer" seems to be the best option considering the ground shake perk is bugged/lame in the current state (dmg fall off from distance is huge after 2m, like going down from 62 to 48, then even less the further then enemies are from the point of impact) and that you can now easily stay at full armor with the new changes on minoris parries without the need to get armor segments from the version 2 of thrust jab or back fist (especially since you'll almost never be able to chain that many light/heavy attacks without getting blown by enemies if you don't block/dodge).
At the time of make this video it did get a huge buff as well at melee weapons overall.
if given the choice to select a melee weapon to slay an invasive alien species, i would ALWAYS choose the doommittens, hands down
(pun not intented)
Been waiting for someone to do this, thanks so much
Awesome video- I've noticed how the animations and been wondering if these combos count when trying to activate perks, great video. Do you know if the class perk that makes charge attacks do more damage, the one right above non-lethal gun strikes restore armor, count towards the power fist? I don't know if his heavies count as charged attacks.
Can't wait to try this now
For PVE the powerfist is great and I will stand by that.
Great vid! Very informative. Question, can't you just wait for an execute to appear, drop banner and execute to full health?
Yes
Upon my playthrough even gunstrikes replenish this
@CarloPentel not to full health though, but a big chunks yes. Execute is always 100% grey health, plus it pauses it while doing it's invul animation.
4:19 I think cleaving is damage that goes through block. My only hint at what it does is the Cleaving Strike perk from the tactical, also my Hammer has like three cleaving potential but I still hit everything 360° even enemies straight up behind me
Cleaving is the ability to hit multiple enemies
Lord Calgar has two power fists and machine guns so it cannot be bad
Keep it up.
Thanks for your guides dude!
You Honor the Great Father Allexis Pollux.
I really wish I could use this on some of the other classes :(
I have to say, I actually find the power fist the hardest to perfect parry with.
Step 1 punch enemy Step 2 repeat step 1, best gameplay loop of my life
I'd argue all of the power sword finishers/executions are faster and more responsive than the power fist getting you back in the fight far quicker.
Thank you I wanted to get into the fist but the range made me hold off.
I never felt the hammer had to be relic. I did nasty work with it on aritificer easy even on ruthless.
The key is to chain heavy/charged strikes.
The key is to chain heavy/charged strikes.
I want a chain halberd or some kind of pole arm weapon.
So how are you getting deep into the combo tree when every 2 attacks its time to parry another enemy? Sometimes it just feels like I'm just doing the first two attacks in a combo over and over because its constantly broken up by parrys.
I would call that "cannon punch" "falcon punch" actually that feels much better.
After weeks and weeks of trial I figured out the secret of chaining charged punches
Seems like this would warrant a new skill tree for the assault class yeah?
