i see your point, but i think it's partly related to the whole "you fight like a girl", "don't cry, you're not a girl" thing, in which "girl" means "weak" to you from a very young age. that's why many take this word and use it and flip it around, which is a good thing.

yeah I agree because it's like we are infantalised and the attempt to accord us power in championing "girl power" then gets undermined.
I don't think the benefit lipstick are meant to be a combination of lip liner and lipstick. I think it's like the Korean gradient lip trend that has been going around for a couple of years now. It's basically your inner lip is a bit darker than your outer lip if you get what I mean. But since this is an American brand it could be the lip liner and lipstick 2-in-1 idea as well.
Benefit is promoting them as a lip liner and lipstick combo, its on the outer packaging (which isn't included in this press release, from what I can tell).
I have not read anything about the product other than this video. If that's the case, I agree with Fleur that the colours with a bigger contrast of colour would not be for everyone but if you use them to create a gradient lip look (like Laneige has brought out for a while), it would suit more people's style.

since Rosie for m&s are Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans and cruelty free they are certainly in better than MAC territory

They are not organic or natural as far as I know however m&s are very transparent in terms of ingredients so its easy to spot what products contain ingredients you are sensitive to...
I love your dog washing itself in the background 😂 and just walking around trying to find comfort. I for one like that the background is blurred, but it's true it makes it harder to see the products you're showing.
I think that Benefit color that was quite neon/90's would be gorgeous on someone with darker skin. Sometimes when you say something like "it's not wearable" I have to remind myself you mean on your skin tone. On someone with very dark skin, a bright pink would really pop and look fabulous. (As someone with red hair and pale skin, I would never attempt to pull it off, but I have a coworker who would look amazing in that shade!)
Devon Huntley thank you 😊😊😊😊😊 as someone who struggles buying makeup for dark skin, I tend to always buy products from MAC as I feel they cater more for women with my skin tone. It's a shame because I do like Benefit makeup!!
I love the idea of a valentines day perfume. I tend to switch my perfumes after big events so I can go back and smell then and relive the memory. BTW You look adorable in this video, you keep doing you girl.

Hey Fleur! I have a video suggestion :) I think it would be cool if you did a video in which you try out Korean and Japanese make up, especially some things that are popular right now. I know you don't have many Asian products that you usually use, so I think it would be so much fun to see you try it out!

I think Tati said the brighter colours are nice if you kind of blend them with your finger and it makes a bit of an ombré lip? Worth a go!:)

absolutely agree with you on the hourglass lip sticks. if you're going to borrow the vernacular of a movement to sell product, you should absolutely be supporting that movement in a noticeable way and part of the proceeds should be donated to something like He for She.

I think that those benefit lipsticks are meant for gradient lips, a big trend in Korea. Laneige has this kind of lipstick for quite some time already. Speaking of Korea, I hope you can try more of their skin care/make up products. Would be incredible to hear your reviews.

I struggle with Rosie for Autograph because of the price. They're too expensive to be drugstore but they also don't have the prestige to be considered luxury. The only thing that makes sense to me is that since they're sold in M&S maybe the brand is aimed at women who are 30+ and think drugstore makeup is too juvenile but don't want to shell out for luxury brands. Not saying that all drugstore makeup is juvenile but some brands more than others have packaging and branding that appeals more to younger people whereas the packaging on Rosie's products is quite classy.
Hi Fleur! I know you might get asked this question quite alot but especially for beginner bloggers like myself, would you make a "How to work with brands" video? I feel like this a "taboo" subject for the beauty world but there's barely enough info for someone in my shoes to get in touch with brands unless youre already a successful influencer. Would love it if you could help in any way! xx
I loved your comment about hourglass and feminism 💛💛 Obervations like that are so important, especially because I feel like it always reminds me of genuine your comments are (instead of just praise). I also completely agree that while they are promoting feminism, partially relying on it to get sales amongst a more urban feminist audience, they could take a step further to actually make a difference.

I'm a big fan of yours, so please don't take this the wrong way, I'm just curious: I've recently watched a video on affiliated links and how to spot them. It is my understanding that a few of your links are affiliated. Wouldn't you have to state somewhere in the description box that you are gaining a commission from the products sold through these links? I know that this is not the same as being sponsored, but I was under the impression that it is necessary (according to rstyle guidelines) to clearly state the fact that you're gaining a commission. I hope this doesn't come across as an attack, I was just recently made aware of this and still not quite sure how it all works, so maybe I'm completely off here haha :) hope this doesn't come across in any other way than just a clueless fan asking a question! :)
Some links go through 2 or more sites. For example, if you click on Guerlain parfum link you go through some shopstyle and being successfultogether sites and then debrenhams???
I would also be interested to know as well. I think I read some time ago that Fleur was against having to state "ad" in the title and given that fact I would be really interested in an answer from her ;)
applesplash731 I think in videos like this she doesn't have to put sponsored or ad, because she has just been sent these for free and hasnt actually been paid to show/use them on video. If she was using products In a video that's she specifically been paid to use and promote then she would have to mention it is an "ad" . I think that's right 🤔

I love Guerlain's La Petit Robe Noire perfume! I never owned one because it's a little bit too pricey for me at the moment, but I smelled it in my local drugstore once (our drugstores carry high-end products, too) and I fell in love with it instantly!

I feel like Benefit's thought behind the lipsticks were for them to create an ombre look. I've seen some of the brighter colours applied and the two colours blend really well!

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one of those lip scrubs by MAC. I struggle with dry lips dude to medication that I'm taking, so I'm always up for trying something new in that area. Also, the YSL mascara looks interesting. Mascara is something that I always love to try and change up.
