for “don’t need your love” with hrvy, haechan was with 127 on a tour during the filming so sadly haechan wasn’t able to participate, but for the DREAM SHOW (their concert) he joined and was singing hrvy’s part

Hrvy got pretty close to the group members and I highly recommend the behind the scenes it’s very wholesome
I can say HRVY is the only singer western collab that nctzens really love and support him very much since he treat and be friend with dream very well! Until today he still do feel the appreciation that he got from nctzens who also turn into his fans too.
honestly, other kpop fans who don't stan nct also admits that this is one of the best wester collabs

This collaboration is one of the best amongst all kpop & western collab that happened. They equally distributed the lines, HRVY dancing with them, the relationship they made before & after the promotions is just top tier. Haechan wasn’t there bc he’s busy with NCT 127 promotions and tours.
HRVY ACTUALLY GOT SECOND PLACE ON STRICTLY COME DANCING. BRITISH VERSION OF DANCING WITH THE STARS. SO HE IS NATURALLY A VERY GOOD DANCER
I think NCT dream has smooth and soft voice even for Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung deep voice member, they are soft spoken.

Yay!!! Been waiting for your reaction to these songs! Haechan had 127 schedule/tour and wasn't there when this collab happened but he performs it live with them.
Even in the Boom MV he was missing in some parts of the choreo and shot some parts separately. This was when NCT Dream was performing a lot as 5 members. Their future as a group was also unclear since the 4 00 liners were gonna graduate soon leaving only Jisung and Chenle. It was a difficult time for Dream.

First let me plug the upcoming projects NCT are releasing:
Ten is releasing his solo station song "Paint Me Naked" On August 10th.
Doyoung and Haechan are releasing an NCT U song called "Maniac" on August 12th.
"Boom" is such an iconic Dream song too, they had been getting mature, but this was the first adult feeling fr. It's not actually a favorite of mine, but it goes so hard. "Boom" was the first comeback without Mark and there were multiple scenes with only 5 members because Haechan was busy with 127 for some shoots.
"Riding" is a bop for sure. I feel Mark's absence a lot, but Dream has powerhouse rappers for sure and people are finally seeing it more and more.
The "Don't Need Your Love" collab with HRVY is so fun, he's one of the few western collabs I've seen where the artists really vibed the way HRVY and the Dreamies did. Him dancing with them was really awesome. They're the same age and had a lot of fun behind the scenes and to this day HRVY has been very supportive of NCT. He even got DNYL tattooed! We like to say he's an honorary 24th member lol This was also another instance of Haechan being busy with 127 (they were touring).

I was actually a fan of hrvy before I got into nct so it was hrvy who made me stan dream unit because I loved the song so much lol. dnyl is still one of my favorite dream songs of all time.

NCT, as a whole, has their own sound, but then, inside that signature sound, all units have their own sounds and vibes, too, incorporated with their brand's sound, which is really fascinating. NCT 127 has the cool vibes, NCT Dream has that refreshing vibes, WayV has that vibes that hits really hard, and NCT U is really diverse but united, at the same time.
Hrvy (Harvey) is a British singer and dancer and he was 20 years old in "Don't Need Your Love." He has been in the music industry since he was 13, so he has been around a while. The NCT-Dream members are 19-17 in this MV. This was the perfect western/Kpop collaboration. This song highlights all the members vocals really well and really gives everyone a chance to shine.
"Don't Need Your Love" came out in 2019. Mark "graduated" in 2018 and didn't come back until close to the end of 2020, and Haechan was busy promoting with NCT-127 on their North American/World tour at this time, so he didn't participate in this song. However, fun fact, in concert when they performed this song Haechan takes over Hrvy's lines in the song.
"Don't Need Your Love" is a single that was released as an SM Station song -- that's why you saw the Sta3 logo at the beginning of this MV. SM Station songs are supposed to be special songs and collaborations that are separate from any solo or group productions. That's why it doesn't feel like an NCT song because it's not really one of their songs, it was a collaboration project with a western artist, hence why SM released it as a part of SM Station.

I fully agree with the rapping!! Ofc it's not his fault but before he left, the other members (Jaemin, Jeno, Jisung) barely got any lines and almost no chance to fully show their rap talent. With Mark gone they were really able to show what they are capable of! I mean their rapping in Boom and Ridin is honestly amazing. But I'm sooo happy that now with Mark being back in Dream, they still kept a great line distribution and all of the rappers in Dream can shine equally:)
That’s true, but also it’s that Mark captivates you since the first moment he raps, because is exactly what happens in almost every song, no matter the unit he is in. Like for 127, U and SuperM he might just have that rap section for a moment and still he leaves you with a great impact. In my opinion it’s not only the line distribution (although it also doesn’t help, but now with the line distribution it’s much better) it’s also that Mark’s rap is truly captivating. At least for me. Because Mark doesn’t have that many lines in SuperM but yet his rap is the one that sticks out the most to me.
@@scouttyyyyy yes I agree! I totally understand why SM, especially when the Dreamies were younger, gave so many lines to Mark. Because he's very captivating in every song he participates in no matter the group. Now however, even though Mark is still as captivating as before, the Dreamies and NCT as a whole really made a name for themselves and Dream's rap line really improved a lot which is why I'm really happy with the new distribution:)

Omg I loved your reactions and watching you guys jam out because Boom and Ridin’ are bops. I definitely agree with you guys because I feel like Mark did have very iconic and memorable verses that stuck with you and not so much the other rappers. And although it was sad he had graduated at the time, it was definitely nice to see the other rappers get their moment to shine. Joining the fandom when I did and watching these music videos and seeing Jaemin’s iconic Ice Cream part definitely helped solidify his bias spot for me.
Dream songs are literally so good!!! Like I just love them so much, BOOM was amazing at first listen itself, Ridin' .... it has always been my fav Dream title track like it's just so freaking gorgeous and beautiful I've had it on loop aah and Don't need your love is just such a beautiful masterpiece literally my kinda song and I love jisung's voice there 💙, they really never disappoint !!!

I don't know why everyone writes about the absence of Haechan because of the tour with 127, because the main reason was his injury. MV was shot in February 2019 and at that time, Haechan was resting, as he broke his leg.
he was gone for 4 months. and even when he came out, the doctor and the company offered him to wait and rest some more, but he refused.
his leg was still out of order when he was on tour with 127. this could be one of the reasons why his dancing is almost non-existent in Boom.
Because "Boom" came out in 2019 there were only 6 members in NCT-Dream. Mark had "graduated" from NCT-Dream and he was no longer included in NCT-Dream activities. However, Heechan, who also is a member of NCT-127, was just recovering from an injury, as well as promoting as a member of NCT-127 in the U.S. at this time, so he was only able to participate in part of the MV. That's why you only see all 6 of them at the end. In the beginning of the MV there was only 5 members, but by the end there are a few scenes with all 6 members.
The whole point of "Boom" is to show how much the Dream members have grown and matured, etc.
I always find it funny that Jisung, who is the maknae of NCT, is the member who is the tallest and the one with the deepest voice. "Boom" is where we see Jisung turn from a boy into a young man.
So, when the group debuted, and currently, NCT-Dream was/is a 7 member group, but between 2018 until close to the end of 2020, you will see Dream with only 6 members. Even after SM announced the reintroduction of Mark as part of the group, Dream had a few comebacks without Mark, because he was busy promoting with NCT-127 and SuperM. (Mark is one of the busiest members of NCT because he participates in almost every project that NCT has ever done since pre-debut SMRookie Days, as well as several solo collaboration projects with other SM artists, and now as a member of SuperM. Some say Mark is SM's favorite NCT member.)
You should check out the NCT-Dream's dance practice for "Boom," the choreography is really fun. "Ridin'" also has a really good dance practice you should check out.

If we're talking about legendary collabs, I think you guys haven't heard of another SM collab, "Lo siento" by Super junior & Leslie Grace yet, who btw, recently got casted as Batgirl in an upcoming movie by DCEU for HBO max. She not only is in the mv, full on dancing and being with the boys, she also performed with SuJu in their tour. You HAVE to watch it!

DNYL felt very wholesome cos most collabs, some singers dont dance with the group. But no shade to anyone cos i do love collabs with or without dancing, but DNYL was a next level wholesomeness(if that makes sense haha) just like Halsey and BTS too. They are very enjoyable.

Mark did overshadow the others back then but at that time the other rappers were not that good too but gradually they did improve and alot of credit goes to Mark himself too because he always was there whenver they recorded ,he would give advice and critics and they themselves said they needed to hear what Mark thinks of their part during recordings etc .Ever since Mark is back ,they look more relaxed now that they have someone to rely upon .
When Boom and Don’t Need Your Love came out NCT 127 were on their world tour that’s why haechan wasn’t in DNYL or most the choreography parts in the MV of Boom

Haechan was busy with NCT 127 schedule, so he was on tour with NCT 127. But they made him sing too on HRVY lines. In DNYL he wasn't in the MV. In BOOM he is in the MV, but as you can see when they dance he isn't there, because of NCT 127 schedule, so they filmed him separate from NCT Dream.
