The "Black Dynamite" animated series, a follow-up to the movie, ended after two seasons. Carl Jones believed the series' end came after his controversial CNN interview about police brutality. However, Michael Jai White suggests that the series cancellation was due to high production costs, as it was animated in Korea and longer in duration than other Cartoon Network shows. Also, the high-brow humor and the authentic 70s references made it difficult for the younger writers to resonate with.

Michael obviously didn't have that much pull because he was told that it was too expensive to continue which is a generic excuse, while Carl was able to name who exactly called him and told him it can't continue due to the direction of the latest season being too smart for the audience.

I don't know. To me it sounded like he knows how to play the game, and realizes that there's nothing to gain by confirming something like that. The show died, but it's more important to focus on the next project than lament about what _THEY_ do. We all know that kind of stuff happens, and saying so doesn't benefit him.

I'll say this... I understand why Michael said what he said. You have to make sure to secure a platform, before discussing how you can or can't use it. There will be other projects and opportunities, so no point of burning bridges just to confirm the sky is blue. Everyone knows that.

I loved that show, it was excellent in every way. I wish it was still running i have seen every episode several times and i find new things to laugh about all the time. The whorphanage is the best thing I've seen in a long time as far as outlandish creatively funny mashups

What was his version? Because one of these people is the producer and the other one is just voice. Remember the people from Black Jesus never got an answer on why the last season never came out. I think Michael understands how fickle the industry is and how dangerous it is to speak out in parables. There are reasons WHY we don't have our own networks and the powers that be make it known that it won't happen anytime soon. This is an unfortunate circumstance but we have to navigate a certain way because you are jepordizing your future in an industry that doesn't want you there in the first place

I loved that series! I do wish it was brought back though and MJW would reconsider. I don't know which side is true about how the show ended but its definitely not a conspiracy or a "They" thing to think the execs would end a show/movie based off of something they heard someone say. You gotta remember the time we live in now where people are big on cancel culture. Personally I don't see why MJW chose to not bring it back if they were asking him to bring it back before. I think he meant as far as their original productions. Adult Swim/Cartoon Network was mainly licensed content/shows. Then most of their original stuff like Aqua Teen etc were 11 min w/ commercials. He talking business side of things. There could have been another show they were paying for at the time that was longer, but doesn't seem like it if I recall correctly to that time frame/era
