I don't know if you can remember me, but I just want to ask you a couple of technical questions (since I really want to escape UP for act sci honours next year lol, and go to UCT): you mentioned an entrance exam, what exactly is that and who writes it? What module had such a low pass rate? that is hectic!!! also, does UCT place emphasis on your transcript or is it all about exemptions? I hope your A213 board exam went well! Loved the vid as always.
Yes! I do remember you! Nice to see you in my comments again😊 So as far as I know, UCT places an emphasis on the amount of exemptions... I think I saw 4 somewhere but you would have to email them and ask just in case I am wrong. For internal students we need an average of 65% to get into honours in your major courses. And if you don't get it, you can write an entrance exam to try and boost your marks. Provided that you have passed the courses already. This was for finance. The course I was talking about was Financial Economics which is the ASSA A214. Yes I passed the board exam I wrote! Thanks for the love ❤❤

Act sci is a statistics degree not a math one. So yes it will help you in second and first year as @nicaKasende said, but we don't take maths past that, we switch over to mostly statistical concepts. I loved maths until I got to uni, now I hate it so honestly I didn't mind doing away with it! As for whether I advise it... Job security was a big factor for me. As to whether it is worth it, everyone keeps saying so but I am yet to see for myself. Hope this helps!

Math helps u in the first and second year, but u need to be good in accounting and economics, too.
