    Ive had my "pro" for about 15 months now and Ive a Renault master van , Land rover freelander (BMW) engine and the wife has a Yaris and it works great on them all.
    My daughter had problems with her Beetle (Golf based) and sorted the lights on that as well.

    Hi, i wonder if you can help, or pass on some of your knowledge.
    I own an early, 1996 SLK R170 230 K. In short, i have had it stored for the best part of 7 yrs, just now getting it back on the road and the dash is like a Xmas tree . I found a 50 amp blown fuse which has been replaced, new tyres and battery. Now to attack the dash lights, ABS, ESP, brakes, speedo, roof not opening etc etc. I have just purchased the, iCarsoft MBV1.0, with the round adapter to attach to the port under the bonnet. Problem is, it wont connect to the vehicles ODB, picks up a couple of things, airbag, seats are out for valet ! etc, if i enter the VIN manually, but wont connect automatic and give any fault codes . Do you have any ideas why, and if not, maybe recommend a diagnostic tool that will 100% work with the car.
    Many thanks.
    Regards Neil

    And sometimes a dedicated to one car diagnostic scanner /programmer, does more than the universal, like the MB 3.0, twenty one more features for that specific manufacturer, not just the basics, much better for my 211, I find in my specific work, nine out of ten times, an appliance, e.g heater/ac combination does both jobs, but a dedicated heater and a dedicated ac , do the same work so much better and is always more efficient and when your talking diagnostics of today's level of ecu`s, dedicated is a much better choice.

      @@GrooveOn Tough to say as I do not have that much time on it and it is my first iCarsoft diagnostic tool, although I have a few others (Launch 129E, Durametric, MotoScan software, OBDLink MX+, GS911, etc). You don't need diagnostic tool to put EPB into maintanance mode. At least that's my guess since it's posible to disengage EPB on Land Rovers by following these steps:
      Ignition on, engine off
      Hold EPB switch in "off" position for two seconds, then, keeping it pressed, floor the accelerator for two seconds.
      Holding both in the same position, toggle ignition off then on rapidly - EPB goes to "service" or "maintenance" mode.
      Turn ignition off and replace pads.
      To reset - do the same thing but holding the EPB switch in the "on" position.

    For Mercedes, can icarsoft be done to escape from Limp Home mode by removing the fault code or resetting TCM? I did AFT oil change, and conductor plate +13pin plug replacement. However, it still in Limp Home Mode, probably go for TCM reset.
    Should I go for iCarsoft CR Max? or MB Star C4 Xentry, HHT etc. ? Thx

    • @GrooveOn
      @GrooveOn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The icarsoft along with other diagnostic tools are solely there to provide fault information, if there are all existing codes and you have fixed the physical problem then you can erase those codes and they will stay away. Unfortunately however if you have gone into limp mode then there is more than likely a more physical issue that you would need to fix

    • @gbush1620
      @gbush1620 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GrooveOn Thanks for reply.
      The physical issue has done which is similar to this video th-cam.com/video/7EopyFUDrhU/w-d-xo.html
      Skipping whole until the end, he ain't succeed and the vehicle keep limp home mode. By N large, it is upset.
      After all, he further did something by resetting TCM like this video th-cam.com/video/Ne40hGr2GWQ/w-d-xo.html and the issue was fixed. Therefore, I know it should have a final step to go.
      MB Start C4 (HHT-WIN) support 38 pin connector under the hood for W210, I know it is the best but expensive. I may drive other cars in the future and therefore looking for if any good tools can do TCM reset e.g. iCarsoft CR-MAX or the video mentioned Autel MaxiSystem etc.
