@@gowithjo1 it's absolutely on my bucket list it totally is, I've had many many vacation s all over the world yet the broads holiday has never left my mind 😃
Wow more happy memories Joe, was there in the 70s and late 80s, with kids they loved it, ever day a different adventure. It was always a seven day holiday in those days. I must have enjoyed it as well, Iv worked on a pilot boat for the last 20 years 😊,
My kids loved it too - there's nothing NOT to love. It's a great adventure and they even get to drive the boat if they're over 8 years! We'll definitely go back...
Ah yes Jo, thank you for the memories, I live near Vancouver BC , but was borne in Norwich, and lived in Great Yarmouth in the 50/60s. I have friends who still have their vessels on the “Broads” . So I hope to visit good old Norfolk and sail again when things have eased up somewhat.. I can smell and taste those fish and chips now. Cheers.
Ahh, you'll have to come back over the pond when it's possible to do so then. Something to look forward to and that time will happen, I'm sure. It's a question of when, not if...
@@davehalst So, you were pulling my leg, but I actually realised they were water mills that looked like windmills. 'Wind pumps' isn't a phrase I'm familiar with - hence me not realising that you were joking with me!!!
Nice one young Lady... I used to spend a hell of a lot of time on the Broads... mainly the Northern Broads... far more picturesque. Potter Higham, Wroxham, Horning are all beautiful . Herbert Woods are a great company to hire from. Sadly I am now a double amputee so my boating is now a thing of the past but thank you for your videos... Most Welcome Please stay safe x
What a lovely message! I really want to try the Northern Broads next time - I've heard of Herbert Woods and might well try them. Thank you for the tip and you stay safe too X
the mill you climbed up was a great view, i reckon all these mills should be restored and in operational as there is one mill already restored and working on the northern broads at Thurne Dyke, having these mills working would make the broads an even bigger attraction as these would then be the only operational water mills in the UK what a tourist attraction that would be
Which windmill was that? And what was the name of the pub where you had your ribs? Were they good? Also can I say how good the Broads looked! They looked absolutely stunning in your video! I have to say that I love that entire area!
Aren't the Broads stunning? Especially in the sunshine...The windmill I climbed up was called Hardley Windmill. The one I didn't go into is the Berney Arms...The ribs were at Water's Edge pub in Bramerton - this was ALL in the southern Broads...Hope that helps!
Hey Jenn, very astute of you! But we DID motor to Burgh castle and then decided to moor for the night in Reedham! We only had the weekend and it was all about what we could fit in and pubs etc that were open at the moment!!!
Hi there and thank you so much. I cannot remember the music I used - it's free library TH-cam music, but there are so many tracks that I've no idea which one it is. So sorry...
No this a old post but thinking of doing this, was looking at hoeseaeons, do learn you how to drive the boat, ect amd best places amd times to stop as i would imagine say i pub on the river fromt will be busy and you would have no place to stop
Hello Ian, yes you DO get a lesson in driving the boat before you're let loose - someone came on the boat with us for a good 45 minutes and we actually drove the boat while they were with us. They do tell you best places and times to stop, but I also did a lot of research myself. If you go in high season then it is hard to find a berth at night time and you have to park up quite early (like even 3pm) to be sure of a spot...
@@gowithjo1 thanks for your reply I was thinking first or second week in September as no school holidays not sure if it would be abit quieter then, by the why your video is good, looks nice and peaceful wife said she just wants to sit relax with a glass of wine
@@ianpickard1605 Early September would be IDEAL I reckon. Very good idea to wait for the schools to go back. It is a LOVELY, peaceful holiday. So pretty and so lovely to have a glass of wine up on top deck!
poor it ... like a boat in "fun park" along the smelly river channels. An adventure for the poor who have no idea what sailing and lakes look like. No thank you !
It’s cruising not sailing and I can assure you that it’s not for the poor as you put it having your own boat on there is an expensive hobby so get your facts wright duffus
thank you so much for beautiful boat trip, very nice scenery.
Great presentation and filming, such wonderful weather for your Broads adventure.
Looks very peaceful. You had good weather as well.
It was - very tranquil and beautiful and the sunshine made everything look gorgeous! We were very lucky with the weather, you're right!
This looks absolutely beautiful and so much fun!!! Happy traveling my friend!!!
omg Joe, it was beautiful and SO good to be back on the road...as well as the water! Happy traveling to you too my friend!! How was your trip?

So pleased you enjoyed it! I've got an auntie and uncle David and Jill for whom it also brought back lots of memories!
It brought back memories for me 4 of us went up the broads for a week it was a memorable holiday I'll never forget. Thank you so much for this video 😊

Lovely video. Your next video could be about all the wind pumps that look just like windmills! 🤔😎😆
I know - I saw a huge line of them on one of our hikes. That's how we knew where Great Yarmouth was!!!
There are no windmills on the Norfolk Broads just wind pumps that look like windmills. They were built to drain the Marshes way back when. 😬🤗

Going on Friday! So excited x
have an awesome time!!
That's a great place to go for a Holiday for all the family. I spent many years going there.
Yes it really is. I'd like to go back and visit the north Broads next time for a change...I bet you've got lots of amazing memories.
loved this vid
Brilliant, my favourite place 😀
So good to see you "cruising" again!
Oh I know Aimee - it was so good to be in a boat...even if it is a very little one in comparison to a cruise ship!

'Tis oft said that WW2 American airmen in Norfolk found the abundant broads appealing.
funny!
Very nice video....By the way. Do you have a man ' On the Go ?'
Lovely video, very informative and well presented, just one criticism it's on the broads not in the broads 😜
Oops, sorry, it probably just came out my mouth wrong! Or did I write it too?!
is the boat you had pet friendly?
I think so, but you'd have to check with the company I hired my boat from which is Broom Boats...
