Just because you don't understand a movie, it doesn't mean there wasn't a message behind it. A lot of people underestimate artists like Miike and Pasolini because they don't understand the social commentary or the time period these were made. They have a hell of a lot more meaning behind them than Hollywood today that will do anything to make a profit like The Conjuring or Insidious---even if the movie is shit.

I think the first human centipede is more disturbing. The second one was gross and ridiculous. Just my opinion of course. But the narrator did describe the first movie and show photos from the second one (which was about the deranged security guard who acted on his obsession with seeing the film 'The Human Centipede.' With no surgical expertise, as the guy in the first one had, he performed a very crude and poorly put together centipede.) I am glad it was in black and white though because color would have made it way worse.
The one film really should be on this list is Men behind the Sun (1988). It's a Chinese film about Japenese war crimes in WWII in China and tells a true story of notorious Unit 731. The film contains several truly disturbing scenes focusing on the human experiments Japanese made with Chinese civilians. There's a scene featuring a REAL autopsy of a local boy who had recently died and the body was offerent to film makers to use. Also, it's really powerful and emotional film, you should definitelly see it if your stomach can handle these kind of things.
The trailer for the first Alvin and the Chipmunks movie showed Alvin eating Theodore's dung, and in the fourth movie, he meets John Waters and admits that he saw Pink Flamingoes.

I never thought there would be a movie more disturbing than the serbian film but I was wrong. The idea around the movie is a man is forced to do one thing and if he fails that thing he gets killed. No matter what but his friend helps to get him free all while being tracked down waiting for a death sentence by a psychopathic woman who owns everyone and threatens to kill his parents. That movie was horrible if I could only give advice once in my entire life I would say this. Do not watch the emoji movie you'll never be the same. I know I'm not the same now..

I’m Serbian and i didn’t know we even had a movie like this. Srđan Todorović is a very famous actor in Serbia and i still didn’t know he did this kind of a movie
Unfortunately some people don’t and these types of movies speak to them and inspire them to then go on to commit atrocious crimes. It’s happened multiple times, not everyone has the capability to distinguish the differences between fiction and reality.
I've either seen or own all of these, and yes, they are disturbing. I don't think Pink Flamingos should have made this list though. Divine thought putting dog crap in her mouth for the camera would be funny. It is. A Serbian Film is disturbing because there are people out there who do stuff like that. These movies were made with the intent to evoke reactions of disgust, horror and make us wonder about the depravity outside our normal lives. Go in with the expectation that you're going to be tested or put the remote down.
It's really not all that. Over acted, nice effects and filmed in a cool way but it tried to be much more than it is and basically ruins the overall film. If you want a film to check out that's rough to watch instead of horror is Irréversible or I stand alone by the same direction.

I think the first human centipede is more disturbing. The second one was gross and ridiculous. Just my opinion of course. But the narrator did describe the first movie and show photos from the second one (which was about the deranged security guard who acted on his obsession with seeing the film 'The Human Centipede.' With no surgical expertise, as the guy in the first one had, he performed a very crude and poorly put together centipede.) I am glad it was in black and white though because color would have made it way worse.

The one film really should be on this list is Men behind the Sun (1988). It's a Chinese film about Japenese war crimes in WWII in China and tells a true story of notorious Unit 731. The film contains several truly disturbing scenes focusing on the human experiments Japanese made with Chinese civilians. There's a scene featuring a REAL autopsy of a local boy who had recently died and the body was offerent to film makers to use. Also, it's really powerful and emotional film, you should definitelly see it if your stomach can handle these kind of things.

I never thought there would be a movie more disturbing than the serbian film but I was wrong. The idea around the movie is a man is forced to do one thing and if he fails that thing he gets killed. No matter what but his friend helps to get him free all while being tracked down waiting for a death sentence by a psychopathic woman who owns everyone and threatens to kill his parents. That movie was horrible if I could only give advice once in my entire life I would say this. Do not watch the emoji movie you'll never be the same. I know I'm not the same now..

I found the "I Spit On Your Grave" franchise to be very comical. It's gore reminded me more of Friday the 13th and I was rooting for the main character the whole time.

I hate it when people say that directors of this kind of movies should be in jail. Like, don't you know the difference between fiction and reality ?
Unfortunately some people don’t and these types of movies speak to them and inspire them to then go on to commit atrocious crimes. It’s happened multiple times, not everyone has the capability to distinguish the differences between fiction and reality.

I've either seen or own all of these, and yes, they are disturbing. I don't think Pink Flamingos should have made this list though. Divine thought putting dog crap in her mouth for the camera would be funny. It is. A Serbian Film is disturbing because there are people out there who do stuff like that. These movies were made with the intent to evoke reactions of disgust, horror and make us wonder about the depravity outside our normal lives. Go in with the expectation that you're going to be tested or put the remote down.

It's really not all that. Over acted, nice effects and filmed in a cool way but it tried to be much more than it is and basically ruins the overall film. If you want a film to check out that's rough to watch instead of horror is Irréversible or I stand alone by the same direction.
