imo the only diecasts from nascar to collect that r gonna be worth a fortune. I have a bucket load of 500 of em and 2 1/24 scale ones. Bought them superrrrr cheap in the later 2000s-2012
Earlier this week, I got the 2009 Dale Earnhardt Jr Amp Energy Relaunch car from my Math Teacher earlier this week. Her son happens to own some COT Diecasts, including a few rare ones.
David Reutimann ran all 36 races in 2008, first 5 in the 00 while Dale Jarrett ran the first 5 in the 44, Bristol spring race was his final points race, with Martinsville spring race Reutimann moved to the 44 car, and Michael McDowell took the 00, but at the end of 2008 MWR shut down the 44 team and Reutimann went back to the 00 team.
That Joey Logano car was from 2009, I remember getting that car in Meijer in spring 2009, and there's no rookie stripes, yes the Jimmie Johnson was an early 2010 release.
Awesome collection from 2009 Garrett, I think I have the most COTs from 2008 but you’re missing a few good ones like both Jeff Gordon Pepsi cars, the Red Bulls, JPM Target, Sadler Stanley Tools, Dale Jr’s black and green Paint the 88, those are a few of my favorites I noticed you don’t have. I’m sure there’s others but hope you can find those ones man I’ve wanted to see how your COT collection has grown and compare up to mine like I said I have almost everything and I’m still looking for some of the rare odds and ends like Blaney’s BDR 22, AJ’s silver Red Bull, Bobby Labonte’s 96
Also I think looking back on it the COT was probably my favorite era of racing in Cup, not just because of nostalgia since I was a kid but there was a lot of parity, even in qualifying you’d see guys like Reed Sorensen, Brian Vickers or David Reutimann get a random pole here and there. and the racing was great at all tracks plus it was the end of us seeing a lot of mechanical failures which I like to see these guys push the cars as hard as possible. I also feel like the COTs like you said had so much power compared to Gen6 and even next gen they’re not as good on short tracks
And one more thing on the decals yellowing; not sure what clear coat you use but I’ve had good luck with clear nail polish holding up and not yellowing. I can find a bottle of it from the dollar store and with 2-3 coats I can make about 4-5 cars with it. Not as cheap as floor polish but I’ve never had any yellowing happen and I’ve been building off and on since about your time too 2020 or so during the pandemic
Thanks for the comments! Yeah i've been researching and investing in new equipment and techniques to prevent yellowing, the hard part is you really don't know if it will yellow until time passes but based on my current build process the results are exciting but time will tell
The Tony Stewart swagger cars looks shiny and amazing but doesn't pass the Jeff Gordon rainbow car and a custom you should do is the John Andretti's 2009 Taco Bell car or Reed Sorenson's 2009 McDonald's or Air Force car, do you remenber?
Awesome collection! 19:10 Yeh Truex had a lot of paint schemes with Guitar Hero, TomTom, GE Reveal, even Vaseline Men's Lotion. It's insane how only the Bass Pro car was the only one produced when there were many other schemes available. Also, what was your favourite COT year in general?
I thought I remembered that some winners circle cars didn’t have the rookie stripes on Joey’s 2009 car
Great video, nice collection there! Especially love the #47 💙😎

@@jakejohnson9827 Probably the only rare one I have is a Destroyed Juan Pablo Montoya Juicy Fruit car.
Harvick's camo was real, I don't think the others were, had a Dale Earnhardt gen 4 Monte Carlo too.
You know its a good day when DiecastBuffet uploads his collection
God bless! :)

That Old Spice Swagger car looks like something Ramone from Cars would like...he'd see it and give himself that paint job.
