Channel 5 did a documentary called Peter Kay In His Own Words which Peter denounced because he said the title implied that they involved him in the making of it which they didn't. It was just a mixture of old clips and interviews.
Trying to work out if this was round the time of the ‘Jill Dando Incident’. Jill Dando was a news reader and presented Crimewatch over here, she was shot and killed on her doorstep. Peter made a joke about it, and The Sun ‘Newspaper’, I use the word newspaper very loosely, went mental. They said something like ‘We don’t know who Peter Kay is, but this type of comedy is unacceptable’. Now they can’t stop printing stuff about Peter, saying how great he is and how funny he is. Hypocrites.
Channel 5 show a lot of American content: week-day afternoons usually have a made-for-TV US movie. It was the last of the traditional UK analogue channels to be introduced (in 1997), although initially some areas of the country couldn't receive it on their TVs.
I loved the comedy store when I was younger, my favourite sketch was always by a bloke called Matt king.. many years later peep show began, so I guess that makes me a super fan of super Hans! 😁
litrally had the tv setting convo the other day. me: look on the the tv i chaged the setting now the sound travels you can hear taffe behind us how did that happen . lol jamie: dan can we please just watch still game ?
Channel 5 out of the 5 main tv channels is bassicly the trash tv channel. A lot of law enforcement programs, unofficial documentary and tribute programs and especially at Christmas a lot of low budget hallmark tv films that no ones ever watched all the way through.
I like Phoenix Nights, Max & Paddy and Car share, but watching things like this makes you realise that Peter Kay has built and maintained an entire career in Comedy with the same 20 Jokes. I've heard people say his most recent tour isn't as good. I think once you're known and successful for one specific thing, people don't want to see anything else. So maybe that's why he always did the same jokes and his new tour with new jokes has disappointed the ones who just want to hear this same old routine.

Channel 5 is a UK channel owned by the US TV company Viacom.
Channel 5 is the one that cancelled Neighbours, now full of documentaries and 'Best of' programmes around Christmas time.

Channel 5 puts on a lot of those 'The Boy Born Without an Arse'-type programmes, too.
When I was 12 I used to love channel 5 for 2 reasons- they showed WCW and also blue movies...
When I was 12 I used to watch BBC2 for any French or Swedish films that might show something 'naughty'...
You’ve seen all these jokes in the Top of the Tower and Bolton Albert Hall performances

And ‘Nightmare Tenants & Slum Landlords’
Peter Kay knows how to do stand up comedy genius. I know heard this joke’s before but just way he delivers them can’t but not laugh.
