Tosca est le roi des opéras (bref, aucun temps mort, aucun déchet musical, des personnages d'une puissance remarquable qui vont au bout de leurs désirs et de leur personnalité, une musique fascinante, des arias sublimes) et, ainsi chanté et mis en scène, c'est un véritable régal.
io ero all'Arena quel giorno. Roba da fare venire i brividi. Ho visto gente piangere quando la Marton ha cantato il Vissi d'arte. Non ho più visto una Tosca così. Effettivamente avete ragione quando dite che Aragall lascerebbe indietro tutte le mezze calzette di oggi. Mai sentita una voce così, non solo tecnicamente perfetta ma dotata di una plasticità e modulazione straordinarie e poi la carica interpretativa di Aragall e della Marton, semplicemente meravigliosi. Li ho poi rivisti a Trieste al teatro Verdi. Come al solito è venuto giù il teatro, non li lasciavano cantare tanti erano gli applausi e le richieste dei bis. Li ricordo sempre con tanta nostalgia. La Marton ha cantato l'anno scorso a Budapest Nonostante i suoi 70 anni suonati la voce è rimasta la stessa. Semplicemente stupenda.
Lei è fortunato di essere stato presente a questo spettacolo indimenticabile. Senza dubbio una delle sere più memorabile dell"Arena. Forse la più bella Tosca già registrata...

It's amazing how wonderful Giacamo Aragall sounded when he sang in tune. I remember a few performances where he sang flat the entire time. It's also nice to hear more controlled singing from Marton before she became a wobbly mess. She oversings so much here, it's no wonder. Wixell is a class act, as always.
Giacomo Aragall não apenas canta bem(e como canta bem), mas dá uma verdadeira aula de impostação vocal e mastigação facial. Neste último detalhe, é uma das melhores escolas entre os tenores. Aos jovens alunos de canto, aconselho a tomá-lo como modelo para suas emissões e colocação muscular-facial. Parabéns a todo o elenco. Uma das melhores encenações desta bela ópera. Bravíssimo !!!

Tosca is an opus full of passion: love and hate, jealousy, religion, revolution, power, murder and ultimately suicide. I like immensely the the arias, the duets and the Te Deum.
Esta versão já com "alguns" anos da Tosca tem grandes cantores. "E lucevan le stelle" na voz de Jaume Argall é impressionante! Maravilha! Grande tenor....Que voz....interpretação genial! Tem tudo....é fantástico! Bravo!
A beautiful splendid quality of voice. Impeccable diction. Aragall suffered from stage fright and migraine headaches. He and Antonio Cortis are my favorite Spanish tenors.
Makes one understand why opera is such an expensive undertaking. Setting as magnificent as the performers - as good as any I've heard (once in Verona) Scarpio, human as well as wicked, though more emperor than police chief....but maybe not SO out of place, then as now, in some places!....we are very lucky with so many superb productions available - many thanks to all concerned.

entusiasmante spettacolo a Verona. stupendo colore di voce di Arragal e la Marton è stata magnifica tutti bravi. Questa produzione presenta la performance eccezionale di Eva Marton nel ruolo di Tosca ,quella di Scarpia interpretato da Ingvar Wixell e di un Cavaradossi interpretato da un magnifico Giacomo Aragall . tutti bravissimi .
We saw Tosca in Covent Garden. Pavarotti was onwel to sing his role and Giacomo took it over. It was breathtaking in Zaffirelli's stage setting, when the orchestra started for the cathedral scene it brought the house down. We were all shocked of the beauty and intensity of the music. I still go cold feeling the drums louder and louder, the choir, my my, it was unbelieveble beautiful. Great, very great singers,....top 👍 🎉
C'est une belle version originale et une belle interprétation. L'orchestration est bien faite dans l'ensemble et les musiciens sont excellents. Musicalement.
Visite nuevamente la arena d. Verona para ver. Tosca. Me maravillo. Quizás uds piensen q no se nada d lírica y no se equivocan. No se técnicamente pero amo la opera. Y la arena d. Verona es un lugar bellísima para cualquier tipo d representación.!!!!

Une des plus belles versions de Tosca jamais enregistrée. Aragall y est impérial. Marton merveilleuse et Scarpia très bon. Et quelle extraordinaire musique ! Puccini est bien le plus grand musicien du XIXeme/XXème siècle !
Regardez à partir de 1:19:30, juste après le grand air de Tosca « vissi d’arte » de quelle manière Eva Marton salue le public. Quelle délicatesse ! Eva Marton est merveilleuse, et d’autant plus méritoire que c’est une soprano dramatique et non une soprano lyrique, et que le rôle de Tosca n’est pas tout à fait dans son registre. Quant à Aragall il a une voix solaire et lumineuse et son « victoria victoria » au 2ème acte est l’un des plus extraordinaires de l’histoire de ce rôle (avec le « victoria victoria » de Daniele Barioni, un magnifique ténor qu’on a un peu vite oublié..

The whole experience of Verona is too much for many and they take a long time to settle and appreciate what they are seeing and hearing. It overwhelms most people who are used to opera houses.
Aragall' s voice sounds much more than any other live. There is no recording to sow his real voice. Much more beautyfull and powerfull than in the recordings. You can hear him outside the theather...

Eva Marton, the greatest dramatic soprano ever! She is retired now, but she can still belt those notes out! I also miss very much Pavarotti, never again a tenor like him in this century!
This version is so interesting on so many levels. A large voiced Tosca, a lyrical yet dark and strong voiced Cavaradossi and of course a vocally clear yet suavely ugly Scarpia .This opera has endless versions. This one is a THRILL to listen to. Verrett/Pavarotti is one of my favorites. Others show the loss, others show the power , the death ,the sex..etc. This one? It shows a bunch of vocalists living the opera and literally running to an exciting vocal climax headed by Marton. Immensely enjoyable.
Ho anche trovato "Scarpia" meravigliosa. E francamente, questa line-up mi è piaciuta molto meglio di quella alla Scala di Milano. Luca Salsi mi ha particolarmente colpito a Milano!

Si, Karl Gustav Ingvar Wixell è stato un'ottimo baritono: una tessitura vocale piena e profonda, con timbro scuro, che rimane inalterata nei vari registri. Evidente frutto di una buona corda vocale e di una scuola rigorosa. Riposi in pace. Anche Salsi è una buona corda baritonale, ed è giovane, ha ancora margini di miglioramento. Speriamo, per lui, che non sia mai più un Scarpia in maniche di camicia e bretelle. Che fenomeni questi registi.

@@catoderaltere6823 Il suo italiano è buono, complimenti. Marko Mimica possiede una bella corda da basso cantante, o basso lirico, come si usa dire, con estensione facile nel registro baritonale. Mi sembra adatto anche nel ruoli dove il baritono deve avere una tessitura grave, come il Rigoletto oppure la Carmen nel ruolo di Escamillo, per esempio. Con repertori in lingua italiana dovrebbe fare maggior attenzione alla dizione, come le consonanti doppie. Essendo giovane il tempo non manca.

Ingvar Wixell was noted for his bel canto approach to Scarpia, and his two arias in Act 2 are magnificently sung.

Recuerdo que tendria 8 o 9 años cuando vi esta puesta en escena en mi pais. Era la primera vez que veia y escuchaba algo llamado Opera. Me enamore perdidamente del genero ❤ Gracias maestro Aragall R.I.P.

Aragall cuando estaba bien...era simplemente insuperable, la voz de tenor perfecta, el paradigma. Marton siempre se ha quedado corta en los agudos.
I've looked for this for years. I first saw it on BBC TV about 40yrs ago. It made a huge impression on me.
This is a terrific version. Wonderful vocal performances and staging that is true spectacle in the grandest sense of the word.

Eva Marton, the greatest dramatic soprano ever! She is retired now, but she can still belt those notes out! I also miss very much Pavarotti, never again a tenor like him in this century!

Romántica y tragica Öpera Tosca ,una maravillosa puesta en escena, y magistralmente interpretada por Jaume Argall Ingvar Wixell y Eva Marton.
This version is so interesting on so many levels. A large voiced Tosca, a lyrical yet dark and strong voiced Cavaradossi and of course a vocally clear yet suavely ugly Scarpia .This opera has endless versions. This one is a THRILL to listen to. Verrett/Pavarotti is one of my favorites. Others show the loss, others show the power , the death ,the sex..etc. This one? It shows a bunch of vocalists living the opera and literally running to an exciting vocal climax headed by Marton. Immensely enjoyable.
Kabaivanska/Domingo is one of my favorites!

Una superba esibizione di entrambi i protagonisti: Mario e Tosca Floria. Un piccolo errore nella gestione dei fiati durante "lucevan le stelle".
Ho anche trovato "Scarpia" meravigliosa.
E francamente, questa line-up mi è piaciuta molto meglio di quella alla Scala di Milano.
Luca Salsi mi ha particolarmente colpito a Milano!

Si, Karl Gustav Ingvar Wixell è stato un'ottimo baritono: una tessitura vocale piena e profonda, con timbro scuro, che rimane inalterata nei vari registri. Evidente frutto di una buona corda vocale e di una scuola rigorosa. Riposi in pace. Anche Salsi è una buona corda baritonale, ed è giovane, ha ancora margini di miglioramento. Speriamo, per lui, che non sia mai più un Scarpia in maniche di camicia e bretelle. Che fenomeni questi registi.

Di recente ho visto "Placido Domingo a Verona - 2019", ad Arte, e ho notato un artista che stavo cercando con Google. La sua voce mi ha affascinato. Marko Mimica. Sarebbe bello sapere di più da lui. Come scritto, sono davvero ignorante, sono un fan dei Metal, ma ho sempre amato l'opera, anche se ho così poca idea. Ecco come con la lingua italiana. :))
E un giorno vedrò anche Nabucco a Verona. Il mio più grande desiderio.
@@catoderaltere6823 Il suo italiano è buono, complimenti. Marko Mimica possiede una bella corda da basso cantante, o basso lirico, come si usa dire, con estensione facile nel registro baritonale.
Mi sembra adatto anche nel ruoli dove il baritono deve avere una tessitura grave, come il Rigoletto oppure la Carmen nel ruolo di Escamillo, per esempio.
Con repertori in lingua italiana dovrebbe fare maggior attenzione alla dizione, come le consonanti doppie. Essendo giovane il tempo non manca.

E nonostante la mia ignoranza, andrò a Verona ogni anno e guarderò un'opera nell'arena. Ad un certo punto applaudirò nel posto sbagliato applausi, ma quello è quindi un applauso sincero.
