About the cover:
A few years ago in English class, we had to read this book: "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children" and I absolutely loved it. Instead of stopping after the first book, I bought the set and read all three. Right at that time, the book was being made into a movie and so I went out to the cinema and watched. I instantly fell in love with the movie, the meaning and this soundtrack. With all of the things going on, going to a different school, switching violin teachers, etc. etc., I had completely forgotten about the song, but never the movie. I always wanted to watch it again, but never made time for it... Until May 2019... I watched the movie again after years and heard the soundtrack again. And just like the years before, I instantly fell in love with the song again. I looked it up and listened to the covers and felt like it was time to create my own cover.
I have never actually done a cover with just piano, I always added a layer of strings, so I thought it was about time that I made a cover with just piano. I think this is the perfect song to have just one piano, one vocal line and a thin second vocal line in the chorus. I actually really how it turned out and I hope you enjoy my version as well.
About the video:
I shot this video at sunset in a period in which I had a lot of long days and late nights and I look it. I look tired, but didn't want to wear make up for this cover. I feel like the no make up look fits the mood of this song well. This song for me represents a feeling of missing that I thought was indescribable. I didn't want to use any cover-ups. The sunset idea came from the fact that I love looking at clouds, especially at sunsets. Every bone in my body feels like expressing itself around the time and that's why it felt like this video should be filmed at sunset...
