    Good editing on this video. For about six weeks, until my paycheck bounced, I was the donut queen of Seward, Alaska, frying donuts in a fishing town. It’s a ballet of hot oil and glaze, a sticky fun vibe.

    Yes I was waiting for you to mention timbits! I live in Northern Ontario...no Krispy Kreme here. I remember when a store opened in Missisauga when I was a kid and I remember going there with my family to watch the doughnuts on the conveyer belt. And someone would just pass you a free, extremely fresh doughnut. That was luxury 😂 Plus I remember trying to sell boxes for my ringette fundraisers. Some parents would legit drive 4 hours down south, pick up the stupid amount of boxes and drive back so we could sell them 😂

      When I was in Canada I never went to one, I've only had them because of people bringing them into work or something. I pretty much only got my doughnut fix from Timmy's... 😬

    My good friend in college,back in the 80s,was the donut maker for our school. They were made fresh every morning and looked like this. They were the only donuts I’ve ever really liked.

    I think that one thing that KK does is use flour with a precise protein content, among a bunch of other super secret ingredients that makes their product do with it does. Good for you for trying this out. What did the glucose do for the icing? Maybe consider selling aprons like yours too. Have you considered making a chocolate babka? Watch the Seinfeld episode about this. You can also make a cinnamon babka. It is surprisingly easy and the results are stunning.

    When Krispy Kreme came to Australia we were really stoked to try them first chance we got we grab a box and myself and my friends tried them and our response was Meh Krispy Kreme went the way of Starbucks there are still some around and you can get them at 7-eleven petrol stations but that's it.
    but yours look good I might try the recipe see if homemade is better than the store bought.

    Their dough probably is very wet/soft since "an air-pressurized extruder produces the perfect doughnut shape and gives the pastries a head start on puffiness" and are not rolled out. Yours look great, though!

    • @antichef
      @antichef  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So awesome to hear that. I want to! Do you have any recommendations for Indian dishes? (I’ve already done butter chicken)

    • @samriddhibhatnagar6312
      @samriddhibhatnagar6312 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@antichef You could try Kulfi, which is basically Indian icecream but creamier! Rasmalai- Everybody's favourite dessert!
      Chicken tikka, samosa, biryani and Chhole Bhature!
      And next time you make butter chicken, pair it with butter naan! (Heaven on a plate, ngl) And oh, over night marinated butter chicken tastes better, and add 8-10 cashews in the sauce while cooking, and blend it then! It makes the sauce creamier and better! Also balances the spices.
      I'm sorry, I get VERY excited when I talk about butter chicken. 😭

    • @antichef
      @antichef  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Tell em, Izzie, Jude and Beanie! With standard baking supplies on hand this doesn't cost anything. But if you need the supplies, then you have them for this recipe and countless others. Makes those $9 doughnuts @ KK a pretty penny. If you're craving some Krispy Kreme, especially while under lockdown, I'd say this is a pretty, pretty, prettttay good option.
