Sorry for bothering Susan, I need this list of timing here for my purposes and keep it updated (neglect YT notifications!):
5:33 Oh grazie. Vai a metterti vicino a lei!
5:48 tu non sei una mia fan, vero?
6:12 pardon?

Thank you so much, Susan! Question: is it normal for a woman to call an older woman, "mother" in Korean? (at 5:22)

    • @KoreanWorkbook
      @KoreanWorkbook  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

😉Thank you for being with my channel!
In Korea, we somtimes call someone "어머니, 아버지, 이모, 삼촌, 언니, 오빠" etc. as calling famliy members, even though they are not the real family members.
It is an expression of familiarity or politeness.
In this scene 고문영 call the lady "어머니" since she has a daughter and comes with her daughter.
If 고문영 met the lady in different situation without the little girl, she would call the lady another name like "저기요, 언니, 아줌마, 이모", etc.
Watching TV shows and movies is so helpful to get used to the cultural differences.🙂
