Rosemary always said that the thing she was most happy about from being in “White Christmas” was it gave her a lifelong friendship with Bing.
You can feel the love and respect between these two lovely people.

All I ask for from television are these adorable casual (though well organized) singing conversation sessions. There’s nothing more sweet and romantic.
Even Bing's ingrate son, Gary, mentioned in his Daddy Dearest book (which he later admitted was greatly exaggerated) that Bing was the most generous duet partner in show biz. He always focused on making others sound great. The Andrew Sisters confirmed that he was never a " line counter" like other star singers they'd worked with. Rosie definitely got showcased on this clip, for example.
And I've read that the gentleman who wrote and has researched his fantastic Bing books had interviewed, I think, some 250 people who knew, worked with or for as well as family, about Bing and most of them loved him.
These two consummate performers make this very tricky medley seem so easy and inevitable. Listen to how deftly they make all of those key changes and tricky entrances - not to mention the altered lyrics. They might be using cue cards but you'd never know it. I know Bing helped Rosie through a rough patch around this period and I think him for it. Their work together is show business magic.
He rescued Judy Garland in the era before her Star is Born Comeback too.
Never will we see talent on earth like this again... ever.

I remember seeing Bing Crosby in HIGH SOCIETY. He sang a song with Louis Armstrong and it was the best. Bing looked like he was really having a ball and SATCHMO was just brilliant. Wow. What a performance. Indeed that was King Jazz Armstrong bringing out the very best in Bing. Beautiful.

Channel 9 in st. Louis, Mo just had hits from the 50's. It was dedicated in memory of Rosemary Clooney. She was 74 years old when she died. M.Kribs Rolla,MO Yes another great we lost.

Bing mentioned that kids want to pitch for Pittsburgh. Folks don't generally know that Bing was a part owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the year that they made this TV special they won the World Series.

If you'd like to hear some fresh, NEW songs by Rosey that had never been previously released until a few months ago -- showcased in NEW musical settings supplied by some of today's top musicians (such as from the Atlanta jazz scene), you should check out a CD called "Rosemary Clooney: Rare & Unreleased."
Unlike that expensive 4 CD boxed set that was issued on Ms. Clooney that just has her dry vocals and that hideous organ predominating (yuk!), the producers of this new CD have managed to track down their own sources for some incredible performances from when Rosey was in peak vocal form in the mid to late 1950s and early '60s. Her voice is unbelievable…rich and clear and smooth. WOW! She never sounded better.
The sound quality is STUNNING. They have added just the right touch of reverb and then put together some tasteful new instrumental backings like sax, clarinet, flute, trombone, new percussion, strings, etc. This is a very classy product and even the photos of her are gorgeous.
This CD covers 3 distinct periods (unlike the box set): Big Band, the pop period (with songs she never recorded commercially), and finally some exciting live performances. You owe it to yourself to at least look at this because you can listen to some audio samples on a Facebook page.
