Young singers today should watch these guys and they'll see what singing and performing is all about, no backing tapes, no miming, just talent in abundance.
I'm not going to pretend to know that everything was better in that time. But dang, you really don't see this type of lighthearted, but classy, entertainment any more. Well, maybe in Vegas or in some rooms on Broadway. But I feel nostalgic for a time I've never lived in.
Because everybody these days gets their undies in a twist over lighthearted jokes that may be slightly politically incorrect. People know nothing is really meant by it. They just love to cause drama.
I really love how each of their performing style is different! Frank seems so straightforward, Bing so elegant and Dino so swaggy. idk if this make sense but this is what i feel and see whenever seeing them! I love these three but Bing def my fav
I am genuinely very upset that I would never be able to hear them on the Radio as the big hits, or see them live at a show, and quite a lot of people see it as "Out of the Norm" for me to like this type of Music because I am young. I'd love nothing more than to be able to live through this time and see these people, and others live, because they are just Spectacular and Music is not the same anymore. I am very upset...
Mr. Crosby sir, you were one of the most gorgeous men I have ever seen, especially the big blue eyes. That voice was like molten gold, how I would have loved to have seen you in concert. Mr. Martin was also divine and a huge talent, I always thought he was a terrific actor as well as singer. I loved him in the movie he made with John Wayne. But back to Bing, for me he was the complete package.
I had the pleasure of seeing Bing in London 76 and 77. I was 16yr old! I should have into punk but went with parents and an open mind. I will treasure those memories forever. He was spellbinding.
@@davidbell549 My oh my, how much do I wish to have that honour. He was at the twilight of his career, but can certainly still pack a punch. No wonder they called him the Old Groaner
phoebephoebo .sydney If you ever saw him perform with The Treniers or the Four Step Brothers on the Colgate Comedy Hour or later on his own Variety Show, or with various female partners in some of his films or TV, you would see what a good dancer he was. Yet another of his under-rated talents.
There are not any entertainers that exist today that comes close to the sheer talent, class and charisma these gentlemen have provided. We are missing so much that this generation can't even comprehend.
You can’t old Skool music my fav 3 with tony n one only nat king Cole I’m always listening to them just wish we had time machine n I could see all of them live it be amazing
As an 18 year old teenager, I find this beautiful and entertaining, like all other acts and hits from this time period. That being said, I also like some music from this period. The cycle of music keeps repeating itself. The cycle, lets say, starts in the 1950s and 60s, with you(the older generation), as teenagers listening to Elvis and Buddy Holly(two of my faves), what was your parents reactions: "that's trash, garbage, sinful". Well right now, those two are considered of the best artists of all time. Flash forward to present day where we have Adele, Justin Bieber(ughh?) and others, today's generation likes them and their parents reactions were the same as your parents, so what comes next......
MUSICAL BLASPHEMY! Without Bing Crosby we wouldn't have had Dean, Frank, Sammy, Michael Buble, Perry Como etc. Bing influenced many people & without him music wouldn't be the same today. If it weren't for Dean we wouldn't have had Elvis, if it weren't for Sammy we wouldn't have had Michael Jackson & many more great artists. BING CROSBY IS THE FATHER OF POPULAR MUSIC!
The three musketeers.😊 Legends. They're so adorable. They'll always be remembered. Love this video. Thank you for the post. Healthy Happy New Year🎈🔔everyone.
They were the best popular baritones of their time, technically Bing was unbeatable, then again there were no beating the uniqueness of Frank when jazzing, and there was no beating the smooth sweet coolness of Dean, Bing was a bit of resentful of Frank, and Frank was a bit about Elvis.. then Elvis was about the Beatles...the only one who never gave shit about anything was Dean :D Cos hes was THAT cool!
Frank in his early days has the sweetest voice which made me feel like I was cuddling with someone I love in fluffy big blankets. Bing gives me goosebumps and makes me sigh like a first kiss in the rain (not that I've had a first kiss). Dino is like chocolate chip cookies fresh out of an oven in the winter with the smell of cinnamon in the air.
what garbage. Sinatras style was not jazz..and sweet coolness is not a singing voice..there is no evidence bing resented frank..and Sinatra did not resent elvis...he just felt he couldnt sing...and dean did give a shit about some things..he despised jerky lewis..for one
Loved all three. If only we had something like this on the Singing Contests. Alas, we have to listen to someone screeching, The more they screech the more applauds they get these days. Why not have a listen to Mel Torme, Cleo Lane, The one and only Ella. Now that is singing, and Scat
Dominic Sedicino No disrespect to you (or to Frank, who I agree was a great singer) but for me it's always been Dean. He just had a wonderful warmth to his voice, and I just love his million-megawatt smile and terrific sense if humour. I guess in the end it just comes down to personal preference.
For me the gorgeous Bing was and always will be the best but I do also like Dean, I felt he was not appreciated enough for his acting skills, he really was very good.
I respectfully disagree. Bing, who was the major influence on the other 2, takes the 2 boys to school. His voice is rich and effortless. He, almost instinctively, clearly takes command of the proceedings. By this time, all 3 were seasoned pros of course, but Bing's even more vast experience, and talent, gives him a bit of an edge here; there is a level of confidence about him that the others just don't quite manage to possess, although Dean is much more confident here than Frank. Dean, who even more so than Frank learned under the tutelage of der Bingle, took what he learned and perfected it, taking Bing's voice and refining it by polishing it with a silk cloth until it was even more smooth and effortless. Then add to that his natural wit and charm and he steals much of the attention for himself. Bing and Dean were somewhat more alike: relaxed, smooth, effortless, and much more at ease in general. They were almost like 2 peas in a pod, leaving Frank the odd man out. He seems to be trying a bit too hard to keep up. It is my opinion that he was just outclassed here by the other 2.
the days of these sort of performances are gone, mores the pity what great harmonising from 3 great entertainers just add sammy davis and perry and it would be pure magic.
Nearing the end of the video there was a portrayal of speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil by these three men of pure entertainment. Oh my how the bondage beckons for years to come. :)
They are still the best and NO ONE will replace them!
amen
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Noone needs to replace them, why do you speak like someone believes they will be?
Should be mandatory watching for today's artists
+cjrrun Very true.
Agreed
Yes! I would watch these all day
should be mandatory watching for those who think today's artists are artists
these 3 guys really liked each other. bing was 11 yrs older and his career had waned. robin and seven hoods a classic 1963.
Not exactly waned he was winding down his career by this stage. It was wonderful the way they all liked and respected one another. Masters all three.
Enjoyed the additional lyrics and clever rhymes.

To use a line from Frank: You can wait around and hope. But you will never see the the likes of this again.
Sheer magic
Blue eyes, Dino, and Bing in the same room, singing.... Mind blown. Sorry if little bits of brain or skull land on your screens.

This is fantastic these are three of my favourite singers, and Together, they were brilliant.

Well, perhaps Tony Bennett still counts.
