Yeller heels! Instead of the Lady in Red, she's the lady in yeller heels. I was surprised the disclaimer at the end of the video didn't mention the yeller heels. 👍🏽😁 8/8/22

The heels. I would have her leave them on though!

Normally a rail system, forklift, hydraulic lift, or hoist/rail system is used. In addition to your solid piece floor tracks, I think you could benefit by looking into a tank track style system as well. The original design seems to replicate the same ideas of a tank track. If you used a linking system you could expand your process to up and downhill applications.

I agree, as proper footwear would be more appropriate for an industrial application demonstration.

fishboytroy Hi Troy, as we mentioned in other comments, steel toed high heels are a real
thing! She is very knowledgeable, and a great resource regarding the Hydra-Slide...maybe she will look into the steel toed option in the future!

Seriously, steel toe high heels. Own up to the fact that this was a bad idea.

I'm trying to understand where this application would succeed a normal piece of equipment like a forklift, rail hoist, etc.

What applications do you normally see this system used in? The process seems to lack mobility, restrictions based on available space for tracks, setup requires extra equipment to lift and place slide plates, reduced the-put time (cases, crates, equipment) moved per hour. What applications would you say could benefit from this system?

These slide systems are mostly used on transformers in substations but have other applications also. In lots of substations, you can't use a crane due to overhead wires.
You also have to keep in mind that the setup in the video is rated for 500 tons. When moving a 500 ton load about your only options is a gigantic crane, a hydraulic gantry, or a slide system. Slide systems, even though require other lifting equipment to setup, are fairly small compared to the amount of weight they can move.

Looks like a decent piece of equipment, but what the heck is up with the yellow heels? She could have worn anything other than those ridiculous shoes.

Greg Stanger Thanks, Greg. This is used frequently for transformer switch outs, bridge moves and vessel moves,
especially where low-head restrictions and power line concerns. Funny enough, steel toed heels are made. She is a very knowledgeable source in the skidding industry and has a the personality to match the shoes she chose to wear. Hope this assists with the common applications.
