    Thank you for this! I have a sleeveless blouse that the armholes are much too tight, but everything else fits perfectly.

      Happy to help. I hate when the arms are tight. It’s so uncomfortable.

    Thank you, I am going to attempt to make some of my existing clothes into ones with drop armholes, as I don't like the way clothes get all sweaty in the underarm area. Now that I can sew, I can do it! Thanks so much for sharing your expertise

    Love this! Thank you! Can you now do the reverse? If you have an armhole that is too big? How would you make it smaller!

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can! Your options for taking it in are through the shoulder seam, side seam or any other seams in the armhole or you can make a dart. Hope that helps till I make a video on it. 💕 Thank you for watching.

    When you serge around the armhole, put fusible thread in the lower looper. Then turn it to the inside and press it into place and the fusible thread will melt and hold it into place. Be careful that you serge in the direction that would put the lower looper on the inside of the garment. You can then topstitch it in place.

    • @georgegruschow

      Wow! Fusible thread?! I didn’t even know that was a thing. Good tip!

    Dearest Anatasia - I am loving your jewels of videos! Do you have a recommendation for making a Halloween costume bigger ALL over? I purchased a basic robe and need to adjust to fit my husband that is a couple sizes larger than the purchase. Can I presume to start with the arm hole, add an addition to the bodice and then work on the sleeve to finish out the upsize? Again, love your teachings !

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching. I would add a strap of fabric from the wrist to the armpit to the waist and then the hem. Basically a giant long rectangle down the sides of it to widen it all over. Hope that helps. We could also do a virtual lesson together! Sign up is on my site sewanastasia.com

    Can one add a sleeve after doing this? I disassembled my winter coat so I could use it as a pattern for a new coat. I followed the same pattern and added an inch of seam allowance and sewed half an inch, but when I pinned the vest part together, the armholes were too small.

    I have a question I bought a dress but the arm holes are too big and stick out ? How do i bring it in. It is polyester shell with lining

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@venustreat701 You can take it up through the shoulder seam depending on the design but that means you will probably need to reshape the neck.

    Could I use this method on a shift dress paper pattern? Dress fits great everywhere but armhole too tight in front. Thank you.

    Do you know if there's an easy way to adjust one arm-hole with hand sewing?

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could do the same thing to just one armhole & hand sew it.

    How do I make the sleeves fit the bigger armholes?

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ahhh well you can't make the sleeve bigger unless you let out the seam in the sleeve.
