- In this video, I'll show you how to make even more simple woodworking gifts! We'll cover how to make a knife block, how to make a finger joint towel rack, and how to make wooden tongs. These quick woodworking projects are perfect birthday presents, holiday gifts, housewarming items and are also ideal gifts for hosts! And all of these woodworking gifts can be made in one weekend. These woodworking projects are the 2022 gift of the year for woodworking lovers.
My wife's birthday just passed, and I know she appreciates a good handmade gift. I made all these gifts from walnut and included some bloodwood as an accent, two of her favorite lumbers. The towel rack incorporates finger joints to give it extra strength for holding the towels and the downward force it will bear.
Make these simple DIY woodworking gifts for your friends and family, and watch the smile on their faces as they unwrap their woodworking gifts! As always, let me know if you have any questions in the comments. Enjoy the build video!

I came for the knife block - nice ! My wife already has a 5 knife block but at least 10 decent knives . Rather than make a new 10 knife block , ive simply adapted your idea and added it to the original side ways on .
That's awesome! And you can never have too many good knives. It's always cool to see people adapting and customizing projects to fit their needs.

I'm going to attempt that towel rack. I've looked at my cheap chrome-finish bars for 20 years now and enough is enough. What I can't see right now is how to hang them on the wall. Do you drill through the back piece and use a right-angle screwdriver thing to screw into a stud? Or maybe this a good use for that keyhole slot bit from my 768-piece router bit set - which is one of about 760 that have never been used?
Nice! Here is the flush mount brackets I used - amzn.to/3nbUZ5S I just made sure to hit a stud with one and used drywall anchors for the other. You could also use a keyhole bit but I would worry about those breaking if someone pulled down to aggressively.
What kind of random orbit sander is that?
