One thing I’ve noticed is the bump stops are still stock just extended. If I wanted to jump my 17 I definitely want a new bump stop. And for some reason the trailing arm on the front end don’t look like they can take the abuse but obviously it does.
Thumbnail shows the axle shifted far to the drivers side, any worry about alignment issues when it comes back down to ride height? Maybe a spring popping out?
Nope! That's normal behavior for a solid axle truck with a track bar that has over 10" of travel. The axle pivots around the frame side joint, which causes the axle to shift as the suspension cycles. Any solid axle radius/control arm truck with a track bar will do it!
I'm really struggling to understand the difference between Dominator and a Back Country. I realize it doesn't have an E-click...and it sounds like this is only for the 4.5" size...but whats the real differences here? A differently tuned Back Country?
The Backcountry is a 2” diameter shock, made for basic to light off road and daily driving. This system uses a massive 3” diameter King shock, and is designed for all out off road smashing. We have a great video comparing all the ins and outs of the different systems: th-cam.com/video/Hip28kg3Bd0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oMkZFPBHAE4w8-lD
That's what solid axles do! The front axle moves side to side as the suspension cycles since the track bar is pivoting off of a fixed point on the frame. It will shift to the driver's side as the suspension droops, and passenger at full compression. With 10" of travel up front it's pretty noticeable.
@@CJCOffRoadin previous videos about 3” suspension systems, you have mentioned adding 300lbs like a winch bumper and using diesel systems on a gas truck. Can I run a this on a gas truck with a heavy bumper?
Which is normal. A track bar pivots around the frame mounting point, so the axle moves to the driver's side at full droop and passenger at full compression. This is true on any Ram, Ford, or other solid axle vehicle with a track bar and totally normal.
I put the Dominator 3in Kings on my 6.0 long bead ran it hard at Pismo it was badass till I broke track bar, shock and leaf spring nothing can handle the weight of a Superduty I know tried it, Lol. Got 23 F350 Tremor leaving it stock.
How does this system work vs the E-Venture? I don't see an E-Click style controller in the parts list, so how does the system change between highway/on-road and high-speed off-road and rock crawling modes?
The Dominator system uses a static valved shock, so it doesn't respond actively to terrain like the E-Venture. Outside of this using a 3" diameter vs the 2.5" used in the E-Venture, static vs dynamic valving is the other big difference between the shock packages. The goal of this system is to be as off road capable as possible. If you aren't pushing your truck like what's shown in the video, then the E-Venture will be a better fit.
It won’t in a real desert race. Like a Baja 1000. Apples and oranges tho. Solid axle are better for heavy crawling and towing. IFS is better in the desert.
@@CodeMoab It will absolutely do better if you've ever been in a stock Raptor in the dirt. There's just not enough shock control to do stuff like this in a stock Raptor without the truck feeling totally out of control. Some upgrades change that, but stock to this truck, the Raptor would fall short. We say that having done lots of side by side trips in Baja, including part of this video.
Main thing is the weight of the diesel up front. I could maybe see the gas version hanging with a raptor but front end weight hurts pretty bad when doing raptor stuff. I done a gas conversion on my old truck out of necessity when my diesel blew and though I lost some pulling power it helped off road capability tremendously.
@@CJCOffRoadstock maybe, but put a little money into any ifs 1500 truck and it’ll destroy this truck. Still impressive what such a heavy truck can do though
It's actually the body moving! The bumper is mounted to the frame, but the body and bed are mounted to the frame with polymer body mounts, so you see them deflect under hard off road usage in slow motion. Totally normal though.
The Firestone bags greatly reduce suspension travel up and down, so that would be the reason. We recommend swapping to this Full Travel airbag kit: www.cjcoffroad.com/collections/dodge-air-bags/products/full-travel-rear-air-bag-kit-2014-current-ram-2500
@@CJCOffRoad Hmm, they are installed with the cradles with the bags bolted to the cradle. Is that correct? or is the bag only supposed to rest in the cradle?
@@StrateOutdoors The bag, brackets and cradle all reduce upward suspension travel by several inches, even if the cradles allow for full droop travel. That was the best we could do until the Full Travel kit got released and was designed from the ground up to allow for unimpeded suspension movement.
@@CJCOffRoad I have everything installed properly now, looks and rides great as intended. Hopefully hear back from Firestone on a warranty claim for both of the old bags breaking at the female threads on the bottom tho (I think Scott? at your shop opened the case for me)

Doesn’t the tremor have a couple electronic 4x4 extras like hill decent and something else? If so can those be unlocked with forescan or is it exclusive to the tremor?
80% of these are going on cartel trucks and thats been true sense the beginning lol. the other 20% are going on security contractors trucks and i bet i know who they contract with loooool.

How many people can actually afford the new truck AND then afford all the extras to “upgrade” it all to just destroy it on a dirt road? Can’t be that many
To be fair, this truck is by no means destroyed. The suspension means you can do stuff like this and not damage the truck, which is exactly why there's value in doing it. If you have to drive oil field roads daily, you're preserving your truck with nice suspension rather than making yourself miserable and rattling the truck to pieces with stock suspension. To a lot of people, upgrades like this are a vital improvement to make daily usage more enjoyable.

How big of tire can you safely run with this setup? 40"s?
It all depends on how you feel about trimming. 40s can be used, but do require heavy trimming front and rear on the truck.

This is not available for the GM platform, but we do offer rear airbag systems that work with this setup and maintain capacity for Fords.

At this time this system and all other 4.5/5.5 systems are diesel only that said, Carli offers all their level systems in gas versions.

I'm waiting for selectable locker as well. Limited slip isn't worth the trouble.

Sadly at that height there's so many drop brackets and parts that you really start to lose strength and off road capability.
