8/11/2023 Update! The Xterra's main timing chain guide broke, causing the infamous timing chain slap. Since I'm not qualified (yet) to do such a job, I took it to a shop. Check out the shorts I made related to the issue.. th-cam.com/users/shortsM1w6qSuSpB4?si=o4y5b-JPKjiqQITz th-cam.com/users/shortsyEK1yZXifDM?si=oS0I17bSGP2Zmgb_
Solid work, Moe! That was the first thing I did when I bought my X. It had a leak behind the oil filter housing. Bought a Nissan part and replaced the oil cooler gasket. Leak fixed and is doing great now 1 year later!
Good video ! I remember changing my oil filter O ring when o just got my X at first I got the O ring from advance auto but it didn't fit so then i got oem part and ot worked lol

Yeah I've been losing about 1.5 quarts every 5k miles. Hopefully this was the issue. Lol
@@_moes_garage_ hindsight, you don’t need to change oil, just add some every 5k miles! 😂
🤣

Yeah I like the OEM for the X. Other vehicles are ok with aftermarket ones. I ended up going with the one from mahle tho.
Fantastic content. thank you for sharing. have a nice day!❤👍
Thanks for watching!
The real question is, how did you hop onto the steel rims dubbing as ramps?🎉
4wd my guy! Lol jk. I have ramps but they're plastic and I have trust issues. So I drive past them into the steelies.
@@_moes_garage_ that’s what so figured! I thought you used a jack to put the front wheels onto the rims, 😆
@@MaximumDIYGarage that's also a possibility but way more work. Lol
Friction reducer? Isn’t that what the oil is for? You know, to reduce the friction 😂
I know but the test from Project Farm was pretty convincing
@@_moes_garage_ I enjoy Project Farm very much! The guy is the Legend of tests and experiments!
Is this the same motor as the 350z?
I believe so, except as a 3.5l rather than 4.0l
