- On this frigid -6 C winter night, we are daring to camp alone at this popular BC rec site!
The drive was nothing short of treacherous, with slippery icy conditions forcing us to cautiously wheel downhill toward the crystal clear blue lake on looking epic mountains
As the sun sets, we conquer the cold and whip up a mouth-watering meal to savor around the blazing campfire. The breathtaking night sky makes this an adventure to remember!
And it all leads to a stunning morning where we create the most epic breakfast sandwich ever! #wintercamping #wilderness #toyotatacoma

Wow, thanks for taking us along. Nice mental escape from recent heavy events. Having Hale all to yourself is priceless. It’s so hard to find solace in the zoo these days no matter what time of the year. Mind you the cold weather probably helped you that day. Your spot reminds me of all the days we spent at Pitt Lake by boat at a buddies rustic cabin in my teens and twenties. We live in such a beautiful place but getting harder to get away from the crowds here. That’s why we love our escape to the West Kootenays so much for over the past 20 years. It’s worth the 5.5 hour drive in the summer and shoulder seasons in the spring and fall.
We totally get it! The West Kootenays are an amazing escape! Just tough on a 2 day weekend for us.
Was definitely a score to get Hale to ourselves, I'm sure the cold helped, lol

Doughnuts were amazing, that apple pie one WOW!! We had the caramel crunch the night we got home, was also good but probably better fresh...lost a bit of the crunch

It was so weird being solo at that spot. Typically, it's swamped with people. We were quite happy, however!

I would love to do some winter camping, but I haven’t a diesel heater yet, and the weather has turned pretty frigid out. Those breakfast sandwiches looked intense! My kind of breakfast, but probably a little too sweet haha
@@MountainManAdventures they definitely were a little to sweet for us but it was fun to try! For sure a diesel heater is a game changer to year round camping! Some of the best camping is done in the winter ☺️ Thanks for watching
