We're Coming to China! This is How We Prepared

- It's almost time for Bobu and Meimei to travel to China, and in order to help them prepare for their upcoming trip, I sent them some rice noodle rolls; a classic Chinese dim sum dish, because they'll be eating loads of dim sum during their first week in China.
Plus, seeing as their first stop in China will be Hong Kong, I also thought it'd be good if we all learn a bit of Cantonese. However, my Cantonese is terrible, so I don't know if that part of the video went according to plan. Dear Cantonese speakers, feel free to correct our mistakes! Thank you!
If you like this video, please do HIT THE LIKE BUTTON! It really helps. Don't forget to leave a message and SEE YOU IN CHINA!!!!

Welcome to Hong Kong 🎉 Hope you and your parents enjoy the trip in China 😊 By the way, you can speak English in HK, most people understand 😃
Better to speak mandarin,
Bob’s pronunciation is relatively proximate to that of the local people and May is very elegant as always tbh! Well done! Appreciate to see you enjoy throughout the course of discovery! Thank you!
Thank you for watching! 😃
I’m Cantonese in HK. I feel funny when you teach your mom and dad Cantonese. Haha. 😂anyway, welcome to HK.
I can't wait for Bob and Heather's arrival! It would be so cool to see them having many feasts while in China! I somewhat recently watched Paik Jong Won's videos on Hong Kong, and from them, the local people in Hong Kong seem to understand Mandarin even spoken by a non--native speaker. I hope many oyster pancakes, Cantonese crispy chicken, Cantonese (yellow) poached chicken, roasted goose, char siu, and fried squab are eaten in Hong Kong. In Shanghai/mainland, I hope they visit the Uyghur street market as I would love to see Bob eat kao baozi. If there are the respective, Chinese, non--local restauranteurs in Shanghai, I also hope they all eat donkey burgers, guo bao rou, beef dumplings, giant xiaolongbao, etc.~
Yay! The lovely couple is going to have a good time in China again.
This is what a family should be. Instead of parents looking at their phone, kids looking at the phone.
祝福他们enjoy their travel in China.
Being from guangzhou and hearing stu speak Cantonese is the funniest shit ever 🤣🤣☠️☠️
Yeah... Sorry. Total fail.
@@TravelinChina
Stu, don't feel bad; you speak Cantonese like a Northern Chinese.
Welcome to Hong Kong!
Haha, your dad just can't wait to tuck in!
When you said in Cantonese the food is nice or delicious your Cantonese pronunciation as “ Hou Hou sei” sound like have a “ good death”😂
Oh... No... I think we'll stick to English
Good Bye in cantonese is Bye Bye😊
I'll never remember that
When you visit Hong Kong, find a place selling 雞蛋仔 (Egg Puff/Egg Waffle), it is one of the signature snacks in Hong Kong. Also, try the egg tarts (酥皮 or 牛油皮, both are equally tasty) when you pass by a pastry store. Hope you and parents enjoy the stay in HK.
I almost started learning Cantonese with you until I saw some comments under this video 🫣🤣Thank you for another great video ❤👍🏻
You’re (almost) welcome 😊
YAY ! This time, ask 韓梅梅 to try on more Chinese alluring dresses. She looks so beautiful in them !
Stuart you are so sweet to your parents. It is not easy for them to learn mandarins and Cantonese the same time. Lots of people speak English in Hong Kong
I had a good laugh 😂
Your family is so lovely 🥰🥰
Stu : Hold on , dad !
Bob : No way , bad !
I'll be honest. If you're to say those "Cantonese" to me, I would just give you a "huh?" look.
LOLS..I speak Cantonese as well and can't stop laughing. LOLS.
i am a native cantonese, its hard to learn for a foreigner i know.... it can turn to bad language if u speak 1 word in wrong tone. Theres a british at ig teaching cantonese which u may learn more from there, he speaks very accurate
As a guangzhou raise and born. what you must try in southern China, is 白切鸡 steam chicken. Trust me, the chicken is the most recommend dish when you in HK or any city in Guangdong!!!
What a lovely family! A great son! 🍡👏🏻👍
Your parents are the best! Practice your Cantonese.
祝你們遊途愉快,have a nice trip, bye
How come Dad's and Mom's look much more delicious?!
Although I am Chinese, I have no 5 Star Card as I am Hong Kong people. I envy you very much. 😊😊😊
My fav dim sum! "ho sic" =tasty. Looking forward to your new food adventures! 🎉❤
They nailed the 再见 👍
Hope your parents will have a wonderful trip😂🎉
Thanks for sharing.
Stu.. please don't teach your parents Cantonese. They might cause a riot using what you've taught them. Perhaps you should try to pronounce it with English sounding words.
Ni Hao (How are you) can be easily remembered as Lay Hoe (similar to Lay-Low)
Duo Xie (Thanks) Duo Jie (Door Jay)
Piao Liang (Pretty) just say (LANG) with more intensity to emphasize it.
Zai Jian (bye) just say (Bye bye) it's acceptable in a conversation in Cantonese
At the airport just ask for the Wifi password in English (You'll save everyone's time)
Also, Ho Sick or Ho Hiehk could be used to compliment food. Öh (like the o in good) Di--eh could also be used to say thanks. Instead of just using direct translations or cognates, nay/lay ho ma also works to say hello. To specifically get shrimp one can just say ha chiang fön or if char siu is wanted, then cha siu chiang fön.
cantonese is not bad except the last part of the wifi phrase. I believe you're looking for "meh yeah", which is like "what".
Thank you for teaching me to learn some dialects!!! Could you please tell me which app can I use to access the TH-cam in China. I really appreciate!!!
No, "chang fen" is not made from glutinous rice. it is made from regular rice.
Sorry
Yes, Chang Fen is made from short or long grain rices. In order to have the right texture they need to mixed with aged rice or mixed with Basmati Rice.
Oh! Are you guys coming to HK! lloking forward to seeing u guys
炸两 zha liang(肠粉 chang fen 里包油条 you tiao)还是鲜虾 (prawn) 油条肠粉也不错。
Hope they enjoy the trip to Hong Kong, Macao, Hangzhou and Shanghai!

Hope you like Shanghai cuisine 本帮菜 (ben bang cai) too! I do like it, but some people find that the flavours are sometimes a bit sweet for savoury dishes.
There are many guides to Shanghai food online, but I hope you find a nice traditional Shanghai restaurant. I am sure there will be many recommendations from your fans👍
Welcome to Macau!
Your parents are a perfect couple 👍
Bravo Stu for trying to speak Cantonese. And good on your mum and dad for trying as well.
"I'm going to use knife and fork. Apologies in advance" 😂 your parents are so entertaining to watch!
👍☕️
hong kongers know english, dont have to learn so hard❤
👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
Well done 👍,👋👋
Welcome to HK! Bobu has a knack for pronouncing Cantonese! But please don’t say “ho Ho say”, it sounds like “die a good death”.. it’s “ho ho cig” instead 🤭
Also it’s “hi meh ah?” (“Meh” like the sound a sheep makes) instead of “hi may ah”
You have such sweet parents, hope you guys enjoy hk!
Thanks, I think we'll probably stick to English
i have been in shenzhen for 20 years but i still dont understand contonese.
Live in Guangzhou and other cities China foreigners(including African) can move to near High speed train station is convience direct to HK can get plane there.

😂😂😂😂
hoow hoow sick
0:30 mate you said "good, good, die ar"
Stu! Please give a heads up to your mum and dad about the culture of Hong Kong! They are wickedly "efficient" and may come off as "rude", don't want them to take it the wrong way!

😂
Just say "goodbye" or "bye bye" 可以了
You said good death instead of good to eat 😅
Oh no the tones are wrong. Instead of saying it tastes nice you’ve told them to go die happily 😂😂😂
Oh no
I am shock to hear that, a son plan to bring his parent to China for food and hope have a good death!! 🤣🤣🤣
@@TravelinChina It's pronounced more like "ho ho sic".
