A good range of races there. We've always found the Fenland a strange area of the country. Seemingly devoid of character but paradoxically possessing an eerie timeless quality.
I think you have it absolutely spot on Brooms!! Its certainly been a shock but one that Im determined to make it work from a running point of view! :) Thanks for watching and all the best for the both of you in 2023. Has Dawn signed up for that Ultra yet? ;)
What a wonderful place to run flat courses on forgiving terrain! I'm looking forward to all the race adventures! Happy New Year Phil! Keep pushing my friend!
Thanks for stopping by Paul. The problem is, all the races I have signed up for.....arent flat! I've just got to make it work! All the best for 2023 and I hope you stay fit and healthy 💪 👍 🙏
Awesome stuff Phil! Sounds like 2023 is going to be a cracking year!!! RTTS is going to be brilliant! Thanks for introducing me to Ash too I will go and check out his channel! Happy New Year buddy! 😎🤘
Good to have you back on TH-cam, Phil! Good luck to your trail running endeavors in 2023, they all sound incredible! My 2023 goal is to finish the last 10 states in my goal of running a marathon or longer distance in every state in the U.S. I will aim for a trail race whenever possible 😁 Happy new year!! 🎉
Hey Thomas 👋 That sounds like an incredible challenge your taking on there. The logistics of getting to them all must be as tough as the runs! I remember watching "the iron cowboy" on tv do a triathlon in every state in 50 days...that was mind blowing!
Good to see you back on telly mate 😁👍🏻 You've packed April to July with some big runs. Have fun out there! Which shoes are you enjoying at the moment. I bought some inov8 mudclaw g 260 v2 and, possibly coincidentally, my foot is hurting at the moment. 2023 goal is to get to the Spire Ultra start line without being a broken mess 🤞🤞
I have been continuing to wear barefoot shoes mostly all of the time and due to this I seem to be able to feel more comfortable in the lower cushioned Altra shoes I have like the Lone peaks and the Escalante's. Unfortunately my Inov8 shoes are a little on the stiff side for my liking :(
@@NickvanderSluys ok well spending a few moments on your channel, its obvs that your fit and healthy enough to complete a 50k with no worries. The things that will let you down is blisters and chafing. Longer runs than 50k then you add in food intake and this im afraid is all about practice to see what works for you. I didnt eat enough on the thames path and suffered for it!
Hi Phil. That's quite a change of location. The St Cuthbert's Way over three days sounds wonderful, I hope you get to do it and take us along. At my age, I tend to keep the same aim every year now: Just to be alive at the end of it! I made it in 2022 anyway. Hope you have a great year mate.
Excellent stuff Phil. Really like the range of plans you've got from adventure runs to big races. Look forward to tuning in for it all. St Cuthbert's Way looks epic too 👌
I’ll be seeing you at RTTS in July Phil, I’m also doing the 100km straight through. I’ll be there in my trusty Vivos as well…😃😃 Your races sound awesome! I have 3 x 6 hour looped races planned before RTTS so that should give me a nice build up. Then I’m September I’m really looking forward to Equinox 24 at Belvoir Castle, where my A Goal is to get to 100 miles in the allotted time! Are you going to the Running Show next weekend?
Great to hear about your plans John. Strange you mention the looped races, its certainly something that interests me. Currently mulling over the Wendover Woods 50miler for later on in the year which is 5 laps of 10 miles. Thanks for watching and I hope you stay fit and healthy for your races!
@@trailrunningphil The loops are so good! I used to think I’d hate them but they make life so easy. Wendover is meant to be one of the toughest looped courses there is! 50 miles in 15 hours isn’t it?? There are a few point to point races I do want to do but my interest in looped races is defo increasing as logistically they are just so easy.

@@trailrunningphil Lots! As far as running is concerned, I'd like to run my first ultra marathon
@@NickvanderSluys Awesome mate. Let me know if you want any help or advice on that.

Interesting ultras lined up there, Phil. The Race To The Stone in July will be a great classic!
