      Its also job choices. More men go into STEM than women. And when women do go into STEM they make just as much if not more. My sister is an astrophysicist and one of the highest paid in her area of expertise and experience. No social scientist worth his salt believes in the wage-gap myth.

    • @Joe-ns4cg

      the vast majority of people agree with this, but the way media portrays it says otherwise.. In doing so they create the idea that believing this is the norm, and in doing so they influence the public and makes them believe the bullshit they are peddling. Why do this you might ask? Well, media is politicized and politicians control the media we have access to for their own gain. This whole setup is pretty simple to see, but people don't do enough research and choose to rest the decision with the biggest hype behind it. And the media is the hype. So yeah, politicians abuse media to get away with whatever they want by furthering bullshit causes that benefit them. This argument also explains the "popularity" of social justice movement in recent years when the movement isn't any real help to the real issues minorities face, and they claim to be the good guys regardless of their destructive attitudes and actions in the past three years.

    I'm all for equality, and women getting paid the same amount for the same work, but, BUT, women are the absolute queens of double standards. They say they want equality, but what they're really asking for is privilege.
    Bill is spot on when he says they cherry-pick. When it comes to the perks and the rights, sure, they want it all, and they should get it, imo. But when it comes to the responsibilities, suddenly it's like, fuck that! You do that shit, I'm just a girl, treat me like a soft little princess, you big, strong man...
    I don't care what gender or race you are, every human being should have the same basic rights and responsibilities. But don't come at me about the former if you're going to shirk the latter.

      Something as simple as working as a server in a restaurant the men have to do everything all the women do to earn their tips from their own tables, then also do extra work to help their female coworkers. Carry the tray with 6 plates of food to Lisa's table at the other side of the restaurant, so he's away from his own section of tables when they might need something. Down goes his tip. Or help shorter women coworkers reach for things up high, move things in the kitchen 10-20 times a shift for female coworkers. All in all male servers at a busy restaurant spend 10-20 minutes ignoring their own tables per shift helping out female coworkers service their tables. If the shift is mostly middle aged women servers make that 30-40 minutes. The men working are basically busboys for the women in addition to taking care of their own tables.

      @@timothywoodruff796 by that logic, men are biologically designed to be stronger with more testosterone and muscle mass than women.
      So, as you say fish aren't stronger than men because they are designed that way, men aren't stronger than women because we're biologically designed to be stronger?
      You argument makes no sense.

    • @timothywoodruff796
      @timothywoodruff796 3 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      @@typhoonf6 sorry I should clarify. I’m responding to the phrase so often heard that “women can do things men aren’t strong enough to do. “ Many women say that in reference to the amount of pain they go through in child birth and that men wouldn’t be able to handle the pain, and therefore yay women. Im saying that women’s bodies are designed for childbirth while men’s are not, so it’s not something to feel so superior about. Men are indeed biologically stronger than women, which is why no one cares if a man beats a woman in a physical contest. So my point was that congratulating women for giving birth as something that shows them being stronger then men, is essentially equivalent to congratulating a fish for being able to breathe underwater when a human can’t.

Equal pay is fine, equal everything is fine, but you can't pick and choose. I don't see women lobby for more women in dangerous jobs, it's always about the CEO position. Men occupy both the top and bottom of the distribution. You want equality you need to do the same. Are you ready for it?

      We have already established that if you leave people to their own devices, then the women, at least a majority of them, find jobs assocoated with people and the care of those people, like medicine and teachers, and so on. Men, on the other hand, will take jobs that are related to things, like engineers, and software development, where you deal with the optimizarion of objects. Facts. Theres a lot of factors. Take parenthood for instance. If a company wants to hire and they have a man and a woman they will probably hire the man first. Why?? Well, it's simple. Would you hire someone that's possibly going to have to take 9 months off of work??? Hell no you wouldn't. That's just stupid. You would rather hire someone that will be there to make you money.
      How about hours. If you ask any man across the nation if they would take more hours at work I guarantee 99% of those men would say hell yeah. If you asked women they would say no. Why?? Because women would much rather have free time to spend with the family. Men would rather work to provide for their families.

However, the minute someone says there are things men can do well that women struggle with, everyone loses their ever loving mind.

      A man and a woman sitting next to each other doing the same job get paid the same. The "wage gap" is not a literal thing. It's just the average wage. More women stay home and raise kids or do jobs like grade school teacher that doesn't pay as well. And really, most women, in the back of their minds know "If I don't want to work, I'll just get married". Men on the other hand, know that if they want to have a relationship, money is a requirement. Men need money to get women, period, and so they work more and work longer, and therefore make more money.

    • @j_g9109
      @j_g9109 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      DaWest I’d disagree with the idea that _most_ women think of marriage as an alternative to work, but I’m basing that on myself and the women I know. I know there are definitely _some_ that think that way, but since I can’t read minds, I don’t know what’s going on in “the back of someone’s mind”.
      Also, the men I know (I can’t say most because I don’t know most men) are more likely to look for/ be with a woman that supports herself. My boyfriend pays for most dinners, but he said that one thing that attracted him was that I offered to pay for/split the check on our first date.
      I think more and more men are thinking that way which makes the option of “dating _or_ job” a less likely scenario.
      All of this has been based off friends & acquaintances because I don’t know “most” men or women.

    • @dawest767
      @dawest767 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@j_g9109 To put it another way, women don't need money to get into and maintain a relationship, and are "stuck" at home raising the kids which pays exactly 0$ per hour. When they do work, more often than men it is in jobs that pay less. Money is not the primary motivator for women, they don't require it get enter a relationship, and they are less aggressive generally and don't demand higher paying jobs, higher wages, etc. when compared to men. The wage gap isn't a myth so much as a major misunderstanding. There are women who make more than men, are as aggressive as men in pursuing jobs, but if you pick a random woman and a random man, probability wise the man will likely make more because of the above.

    I think he fucked up in formulating the joke. What I think he meant it as, is a reason for why men, as a collective all around the world, generally earn more money than women. There are many reasons for why that is true, and his example is a valid and real one. Men do dangerous jobs, and danger is rewarded more. If you have 100 women, 20 lawyers, 30 doctors, and 50 nurses (none which are dangerous jobs), and you have 100 men, of which 20 lawyers 30 doctors and 50 structural iron and steel workers/logging workers (two of the most dangerous jobs in the world), it's normal to see why the 100 men have a bigger pile of money than women at the end of the month.
    To earn more than another person with the same exact job it's illegal. It never happens. If you know someone who does the same job as you, but got a bigger paycheck, it's probably because they asked for a raise, did overtime, or got a bonus because of their work ethics. In which case the disparity can be solved by.. doing overtime of your own, asking for a raise, or showing more dedication and results into your job.

You can get different pay by negotiating differently or negotiating with a different recruiting officer. And then you factor in the gender and you realize there is a myriad of reasons, totally legal on paper, that could lead one group to be paid less in general than another. Saying it "never" happens is just ignoring common sense.

    I just wanted to tell you that this was hilarious! I had the SAME reaction from my daughter. Until I explained to her that it isn't true. I have worked in jobs where a woman was paid more than me with less experience. The "pay-gap" doesn't exist and is only a talking point for democrat politicians to get elected. I have never seen a woman paid less to do the same job and I am 53. Bill Burr made this hilarious though!

      @@loudnoises213 dude these women are literally lying lol, their comparisons show that. Like some female fry cook getting mad that her male manager is making more than her, and they don't even ask questions. They just assume since they're working in the same building that theyre basically doing the same shit and should be paid equally. Or they don't take into account how long somebody has been working there either. Who do they think is going to make more, a female who has only been on the job for 3 months, or a guy who has been on the job for 5 years? Theyre also not taking into account raises that people get from added responsibilities. Dude I swear i remember hearing some starbucks bitch complaining that she wasn't making the same as the men working in construction. The pay gap isn't real, if you want more money it all depends on your work ethic and how hard you're willing to work. But feminists don't like taking responsibility for themselves so they blame other people for why they aren't making enough. I hear no old ladies that were alive back in the day when they had no rights complaining. Theyre knitting a sweater enjoying life right now, but for some reason these young and lazy women have it so hard.

Some of them that just phoned it in even got paid more than me.
      It's all bullshit at this point. The only reason a man gets paid more than a woman at this point in our society, is if he has more experience, performs better, or there is some real disparity between them that it wouldn't matter if it was a man or woman by comparison.
      Then, sure - there is the lifetime acquirement of wealth, and that is going to certainly tilt towards men who work longer hours, more consistently, for more years of their life.
      Right now, with over 20 years in the field, the most certifications of anyone in my department, we just hired two new people in adjacent regions. The one woman technician has 4 years experience and the company has been training her the last 3 months to get her first 5 certifications she needs.
      She is starting out at 1k less per year than myself. No shit. How do you think that grabs me and others in the field? I already put in my notice along with a couple of others. Thats the wage gap, you have to look at it juuuuuuuuuuuuuust right for it to exist. For the same exact entry job, with wage laws, we make the same. Now, when you start seeing the reality, men work longer hours, take less free time, and take more risks, so they may get may get bigger rewards from job performance and job negotiation. That last part is part of why the men's US soccer team made more money than the women's. They negotiated less stable income in exchange for a bigger cut of the World Cups prize money. The women's negotiated the other way around, then bitched when they got less money.

      The men get paid only when they are on the field (purely in bonuses or prize money for placing in tournaments).
      The women's team negotiated for a stable salary for every player on the team, whether they are on the bench, out on injury, or on the field, they get paid an annual salary (excluding individual sponsorships, commercial deals, etc.). This results in the their net income as a team being spread out evenly amongst the entire roster.

So at the end of the year Kayla has a nice chunk of change saved up in the bank, and Brad has barely anything to show for his year of work besides essentials like rent and groceries!! Because Kayla was able to save most of her money. She had to pay for groceries too, and gas, and her own rent, but besides that she has quite a bit, but Brad had to pay for 2 dinners, 2 movies, 2 pop corns, 2 cokes, some candy, and that's just 1 night, not to mention he has to do this almost every night of the week!!! So in my estimate, men should make double what a women makes for the exact same job, until we lose this shit from before the days of knights and castles where men have to pay for EVERYTHING, and then 1 out of every 500 dates, the woman will treat the man! Wow, thanks!! When that stuff started, women couldn't work, so the man had to pay for everything because he was the only one with money!!
