    Wow how do you record audio when riding. There was no wind at all very impressive!

      GoPro 4 + homemade deadcat double-sided tape over the mic does really well with audio (staple setup in mtb YT world)

    I just ordered a OneWheel Pint and want to pick up a scooter. I'm debating between the Rev or something that's a bit more off-road capable with better range like the Nanrobot D4+. Now that you have experience with the Rev, if you were buying today would you stick with the Rev or go with something else?

    • @boostedluke8346

      Took a quick look. Looks like IP67 (Rev) vs. IP53 for the D4+, so not really sure how the D4+ would do in wet/rain. Rev is 46lbs, D4+ is 70lbs. D4+ looks like it has better range, is more powerful, and has suspension. D4+ also looks pretty janky, Boosted is super polished/nice looking.
      Nanrobot looks China based, and they offer a 2 month warranty. Boosted is US based, 12-month warranty, solid customer service in my experience.
      For me personally, the rev is a better fit because I need something solidly waterproof + something I can pickup fairly easily and put on my work bus. I mostly ride on pavement. And the 7.5-8.5 mile range I get works for my needs. I'd trust the quality and reliability over Nanrobot.
      But something like the Nanrobot looks pretty cool if you don't care about waterproof-ness, need more range and power, suspension, don't care about how it looks or how heavy it is. But that warranty kinda sucks so you're rolling dice IMO if something goes wrong, would hate to lose $1k or have to chase around to get it fixed. That said I def. would love to have a second scooter that was faster + more range even if heavier.

    Debating the Rev vs Dualtron Spider? I know the spider is more expensive.

    • @boostedluke8346
      @boostedluke8346  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      any dualtron as a primary scooter for me personally would be a non-starter as they aren't waterproof and I have to ride in wet conditions. in theory the dualtrons look great - in practice they just seem risky. they just seem cobbled together and i'm pretty sure you can't just get free round trip shipping if anything goes wrong like you can with boosted.
      I really just want a boosted with dualtron specs.

      @@boostedluke8346 I hear you, the only thing worrying is the range, my office is 10 miles away. 🥺

      @@schazy ah yeah, i wouldn't do it unless you're really light - range sucks on this thing

      What if I would use mode 2 for some of the way? They are selling it for $1199 BLACKFRIDAY DEAL hard to pass.

    • @boostedluke8346
      @boostedluke8346  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@schazy that is a sweet deal. for me i'd prob pass though if I had a 10 mile commute. mode 2 is boring and in cold weather or over time the battery will just get worse. that's just me though - if you're really light and have no hills it might be fine.

    WOW that stock light SUCKS huh? I will totally also use my separate night bike lights, that seems not useful that built in one. :P

      The video makes it look worse than it is, but it's definitely too dim for me to feel comfortable riding around on mode 3 without being extra careful.
