He says "overexaggerate running on your toes" but that's how I run but that is why I'm here. It hurts so much. I am not a trained runner. I need to start training for my 3rd half-marathon. I am hoping, this time, it's pain free.
Thanks for the video. i appreciate that you do not take a black/white position and not saying hill striking is bad bad bad but instead bringing in more weighted argument and acknowledge that people are different
Thanks a lot! This is very helpful. I have been diagnosed with bilateral hallux limitus, and I think that part of that is because I changed my running form for the last few years and I began landing on my forefoot, but pointing my feet down (plantarflexing) before landing. That's killer for your big toes and your feet in general. Just a week ago I tried to start thinking in dorsiflexing my feet before landing, while keeping my stride short as to not overstride, and it has been working like a charm. I have been finishing my runs with much less pain than before, and I also feel that that way my running economy has improved. Also, wearing zero drop shoes (Altra) has been helping. Anyway, thanks a lot for all your videos! They're awesome! Cheers from Israel
thank you! Its hard to say I have lived in many countries but I was born in the old USSR - I started running at the ago of 25 so just about 9 years now
Another informative and entertaining video. I think it helped me figure out why my pace slowed so much when I transitioned from heel to mid foot landing last year... I do that flat swing, barely lifting my knees. I'm doing the ultra shuffle, even if I'm just doing 5k instead of 50k that day! Can't wait for part 2!
@@VladIxel just one thing. You didn't mention anything about our and as we're running. What way do we swing them? Do ya remain loose and relaxed and how? Thanks
Hey mate! Super cool video but...would you give a fix for those who are on the other side of the balance and land too much on the forefoot resulting in pain in the metatarsal area and toes? Thanks
Great video on form. I was wondering what thoughs you have on upper body and posture? I tend to bend somewhat from my hips when running. Is that a problem if so how do I get a more natural and taller running style?
Im guessing you are leaning forward? if so this means you might need to work on your core strength to help you stay a little more upright, try adding 3 x 10-15min core workouts a week for the next 6 weeks and see if that improves your running form
it can help for sure but its more about the mindset and you understanding how you are landing - for a long lasting change you need to be aware of how you landing
Hi Vlad! Few days ago I ran my first marathon and I saw something wrong in my landing technique - my left foot in the air and at the landing looks outside. How may I improve that, with which exercises? Another question about speed. What is the key to stay more time in the air (I see your knees go high and your push is strong), I mean to keep the same cadence of 180 but with better pace? And of course the HR... the faster I run, the higher my HR goes. What is the key to keep it the same but with a better pace? Is it my running time, is it technique? Please may you give me some suggestions, maybe link me to some of your videos! Have a great day!
2:00 it's funny watching you "teach" your expert level camera guy how to use a phone camera. I've seen the dude film you while he's riding a bike at a decent clip 😂
i have realized that i am not lazy but i just need to get in so much better shape to have a better form. as i am training more my form is getting slightly better but to run with a proper form more than a few minutes completely exhausts me and i have to stop.

No we aren’t, all other species move identical to others of the same kind, only we humans don’t generally agree on standards of movement.
I like this humorous approach paired with very good advice in your newer videos. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! appreciate that
Great content there! And funny as always 😂😂😂 laughing out loud of the end
Legend!

Nice, I just paid someone $200 to say the exact same thing you do in this video. Should have begun here!
2:24 is the best part of the video 😂😂😂
Great video, Vlad! Any opinion about reducing/removing shoe drop when transitioning to a mid-foot strike?

it will take a bit of time but once you get it you will be a much better runner, keep up the good work, it will pay off soon!

Hey Vlad, what about the upper body? You did not mention anything about it in the video.
