I have been a mechanic for years now retired living in Thailand and wish I lived in England near your shop, I would work for you just for something to do. Thai law is rather an odd thing about foreigners taking any job that a Thai national could do to profit from. Odd to see a dealer that wants to do things correctly, where the art of repair trumps the profitability of an item. Hats off to that mate. Great video and as I have said before I realize the amount of time recording and editing these is phenomenal and I for one appreciate all that work!
Guys, thank you for sticking all the LSE videos in a play list and numbering them! I had a proper binge on them yesterday while the kids were home schooling 👍
Rob absolutely adore this channel from the quality commentary to Chris master piece workman ship,so much detail brilliant & 1 of the best channels on youtube
Gosh guys, you have really opened my eyes to the amount of work that goes into restoring a classic car. You have to be so accurate with each cut perfectly measured and mocked up before final assembly. Keep up the good work knowing it is all being appreciated by your thousands of followers. Thanks for another noyse video.
We know Chris is getting involved when the apron comes out 😂 Great work both - really looking forward to seeing this come together. This channel is a well needed tonic in these difficult times.
This is why a proper restoration is so expensive, people dont realise the amount of work involved with things you dont even see. Great job, it's going to stunning.
Nice job Rob and Chris I really look forward to seeing your TH-cam videos the both of you have vast amounts of knowledge it’s good you can share this with all the TH-camrs thanks to the both of you.
It’s all in the detail Rob, little steps, little bits, - it all grows into big steps and big bits!! It’s a first class restoration your both doing and it’s a pleasure to see it taking shape.
Chris is a magician! Nice window frames all great stuff! Your brilliant Rob! The old saying is “ Do it properly, or don’t do it at all!” Thankyou fellas!
Nice to see another land rover donating parts, superb job by Chris. I agree that you wouldn't want a rusty window frame after all the work the pair of you are doing.
Brilliant to see such quality work going into the old Range Rover. I’m looking forward to seeing it finished. It was a car from my era and a much coveted one at that. You and Chris are doing stunning work with it - love it 👍
Evening guys. Another fantastic video on the LSE 😆 Chris has so many talents it must be an absolute blessing you’ve got him with you working in the garage 👍🏻 It certainly makes your channel the best car rebuild on TH-cam. Keep safe as always sed ya next time cheers Stevie 😎
Wow again Chris fabrication skills are awesome it’s lovely to see this coming together for me personally I love the older land rovers especially in that traditional green well done guys it’s coming along nicely
.Hi Rob and Chris, I'm reaching out to you from Australia, I'm addicted to your channel,I've watched the previous 14 videos on this Range Rover, have you made number 15? All the best to both of you for 2023, keep up the good work, the rapport bewteen you guys is priceless!
Hi Rob, every time I see one of your vids I am in awe as you must be of Chris's workmanship. Fabricator, painter, mechanic, is there nothing he can't do, obviously ably assisted by your good self. Keep making these great vids.👍👍👍
Fantastic channel, I only discovered it last week and spent last night watching all of the Range Rover videos which are Excellent and better then anything on TV ATM! I love the scrap yard walk arounds, more of those would be great. Loved the Cosworth videos and seeing the Classic Minis when you got it and at the auctions you went to. Have subscribed. Thank you
Well hopefully you guys have saved this beauty from being cut up into a green laner like most Range rovers of this vintage. This will be 1000 times better than the factory could ever dream of. Great series !!
That's a really nice tip for anyone tackling an LSE, or maybe people less familiar with Landies who are tackling a Classic. The first generation Discovery, and the facelift version, were designed and built using an awful lot of pre-existing Range-Rover parts as Land-Rover had to develop the Disco, a totally new vehicle for them, on a shoestring budget. A lot of Disco body structure up to the waistline is identical to the Classic. While early Discos are starting to attract a bit of a following, they're still a whole lot cheaper than a nicely restored Classic will be worth, so using Disco parts to restore a Classic makes a lot of sense. There's no point in buying a stripping a nice early Disco, though, as so many have been parted out over the years that a lot of Landie breakers are swimming in Disco parts so they're not hard to find and generally aren't expensive. With the exception of the door frames, which are the same on both vehicles, as illustrated here, the body structure about the waistline is unique to each vehicle, so that's not really going to be any help if you're trying to sort the normal rust damage caused by leaking twin sunroofs on an early Disco, which is something to bear in mind if you're thinking about buying one, one without the factory sunroof option is going to have a much better body shell, and it's really not hard to add in options like air conditioning or higher spec electrical toys to one, if you have a vehicle originally fitted with those parts to refer to, as some of the wiring runs are a bit odd and hard to work out just from the shell. A friend of mine has a Disco commercial that he's put all the toys in, air conditioning, cruise control, electric heated leather seats, it's all simple add in stuff as the basic wiring loom is designed to have the extra components plugged in...
Tons of work, anyone watching can appreciate that. Does make u understand why, when you see these at retail restoration garages, they command such high prices. Great work. Thanks for sharing.
Hiya rob! Great progress so far! Chris is a genius! So glad this is back on the agenda! Can’t wait to see the finished results and the numbers! Anyway ill see you boys in the next one...
I know early Rovers are just like a big Meccano kit, but having someone like Chris that can fabricate and weld must have saved you both thousands over the years and he makes it look so simple.I tried my hand at it myself once and very soon discovered that it's not.I wish i had his skill-set.Reckon that car will look pucker once it's finished
Fair-play Guys Great Work as usual people who are thinking of having a car restored should watch this to appreciate how much time goes into doing a Good Job.
