I love Wednesdays now because of your tutorials, Shelley! This is the best video on stormy clouds I have seen!! You are such a talented artist and instructor and we are all blessed that you impart your talent and knowledge to us every week!! The best result of COVID in my life!! Thank you!!
At home healing up from rotator cuff surgery, unfortunately affects my dominant hand. But even if I can’t put your techniques to use, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching several of your videos. I paint in oils or watercolors, and have watched LOTS of YT paint instructors for learning. You are especially gifted, in not just the painting, but also in the warm manner of your teaching. I’m glad I’ve found you, and I hope your channel grows exponentially. Randy in NC.
I saw you recently on Artschool live. I have been watching your videos and am learning so much. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, I am self taught and a beginner. You make me want to go paint!!!
It's my pleasure. You may enjoy my other 'cloud' videos as well. th-cam.com/users/liveUwv6pzFrRI0 (sunset) th-cam.com/users/liveBPWfXE7YvT8 (storm over ocean) th-cam.com/users/livetTDHTUGR-K8 (storm cloud) th-cam.com/users/live16wAApmO5IE (soft clouds)
I’m so happy to have found your tutorials and so grateful to have access to your vast experiences. Also as I am deaf I can use the auto generated CC in most of your videos so far. Maybe not all have this option, but plenty especially for a beginner. I would love to join the live presentations but haven’t worked that out yet. I’m in Eastern Australia and possibly not a realistic goal 😅. I really appreciate that you have the complex technology as seeing your face is helpful for lip reading and watching the paint mixing is just like I feel like I’m there, it just makes it so much more human personal. You’re a total wonder. Lazuli ❤ thank-you very much Shelley.
Hi Shelley, beginner watercolorist here, obsessed with learning how to paint clouds. I’ve watched all your sky/cloud videos and they are the best I’ve seen so far, thanks you so much for being so generous with your time on The Wednesdays demos. I live in Tucson, AZ, USA and here everyday we have amazing cloud formations. I have been taking photos for a while and there is one particular kind that I’m not sure how to paint. If I send you my photos would you consider using them for one of your demos pleeeaaase?
I enjoy your videos for the most part but even with my hearing aids, I have trouble understanding you sometimes. Please put up the CC if at all possible for us hard of hearing folks. It would encourage a lot of people to come to your site because you have CC.
Good point Robert. I thought it was a function that viewers had control over rather than one of my settings. I will look into it though. Hopefully I can add it to past videos as well. Thanks for making me aware 😊
I absolutely love your tutorials, I’ve just started and still feel like I’m able to follow along. I am struggling with my water/paint ratio and blending. Do you have a video that you’d recommend that covers some of those basics?
I dont see you using ultramarine. Is there a readon? I dont have many blues, and that seems to be included in my sets (small sets). I do have manganese blue. Can I use those colors for realistic clouds?
I use a combination including synthetic but mostly I prefer squirrel hair rounds (Biaelk). I have a list of materials that I typically use on my website. shelleypriorart.com/materials

Thank you very much Lynn :) I'm happy to share.
I love your lessons about clouds and the sky. They are great .
I am here from Zimbabwe but don’t know how long ago you did this demonstration . However i will enjoy now.
Your explanation helped me understand this better. Thank you.

I’ve always wanted to paint clouds more realistically. Thanks for a great tutorial!

thank-you very much Shelley.
Merci beaucoup pour la leçon d'aquarelle et d'anglais. Thanks you for the double lesson for watercolor and english
Working the second glaze in sections is far more manageable than trying to get to each cloud once you have dampened the entire paper!
Watching from Sweden although a while year late. I'm a socker for clouds as well so here i am.😅
So good! Thank you!!

What brush brand do you use?
I love how you do your clouds I’m struggling with clouds for some reason
I have a few different brushes that I use. They are listed on my website. shelleypriorart.com/materials
You’re talking about paper…may I ask which type of paper do you use for portraits…cold press, hot press…smooth or rough? Thank you
I use cold press for nearly everything including portraits
Hi Shelley from Australia
Where did you buy your circular pallete 13:55
Nice demo. The paper you use is actually pronounced 'Arsh'.
