Welcome to episode 1 of my FM24 Saving Southend story. We begin our one club story with Southend United in non-league. We have a points deduction, transfer embargo and a threadbare squad, but can we stay up in our first season before heading on a road to glory? In episode 1, we meet the few players and staff that remain at the club and plot a route to avoid relegation to the lowest playable level in non-league.

Hey man! Just started a youth only save (no transfers in, only players already at the club and youth recruits allowed) with this team without knowing anything about them, so imagine my surprise when I saw the 10 point deduction😂
Ended up in second place after Chesterfield (108 points after the 10 point deduction), got promoted after winning the playoffs but lost the FA Trophy final.
P.S.- Harry Cardwell is an absolute machine! 48 league goals, 59 goals total. Dude broke the all time goal scoring record 😂

This will be a nightmare save. Going to be a good watch for the year.
The first season is certainly going to be a laugh. We'll be fin when there's one game a week and everyone is fit, as we've seen with Southend in real life this season. Once we get to regular midweek games, we might have to pick and choose which ones we attack! 🤦♂️
Just watching this after the actual real life takeover happened in July 2024, Southend came perilously close to liquidation but are now saved.
Such good news, isn't it. Hopefully Maher is given time to build now and the club can get back in the EFL in the next few seasons. 👍
Can't wait got the next episode going yo be such a good save, going to be hard with the lack of squad depth specially for the first few months

Realistically all I can expect is to have 11 healthy players to play until January!!!!
That's the only hope to be honest. It's a competitive team at this level, but we're four injuries from not having a senior side!😂

I just want to survive this year. It's going to be a good challenge and depends largely on what takeover we get but it should be interesting. 👍

Nah Dagenham fans despise John Still. Was a legend but threw it all away for quick money. Plus left for rivals Barnet and took 12 players with him. Not to mention also rejoining Dagenham as a scout, then leaving for Southend and raiding our youth team.

None of the Dagenham fans I know despise John Still. He gave them the greatest times they saw in their history and the ones I know greatly appreciate it.
He's the best of players in non-league ever and he's going nowhere! 😂
