Thank you CNA. The story is inspiring. It shows the hunger and determination to succeed and the sacrifices they have to make. While it is done using AI, it is refreshing and well done.
What an excellent story. I'm from Australia but since I was young, I crossed the causeway regularly when visiting relatives in Singapore and JB. One of my childhood memories in the mid 80s was crossing by foot with my auntie as it was faster than the bus. I saw a huge snake on the rocks basking in the sun. It must have been 3 to 4m long and as thick as my leg. The causeway will always be part of my childhood memories.
I’m happy for this lady who never once blamed others for her situation but persevered and worked hard uplifting her own life. Most people would be blaming family, society, government and anything except themselves. My admiration for her, Huat Ah!
Well documentary. It is a lifeline for a better life for most Malaysians as compare to Singaporeans. Can buy a property in 7-years at such a young age alone is not easy.
We have to vote wisely next year. Else, more of these freeloaders and leeches will come in to leech money out of our economic to own freehold landed properties back home, take our jobs and depress our salaries over here. With their Ringgit cost of livings, they have more savings and they can even own properties in Singapore and compete with Singaporeans. Rising cost of living.
Such an inspirational working life story from a determined & gutsy & artistic lady from JB! Thank You So Much for sharing , as many Malaysians do being through this kind of life or worse while working in Singapore but staying in JB! Many of my generation already retired or passed into their next future lives by now in 2024 ... We were the borned in the 1960s & once worked in Singapore during the 1990s to 2019 era group ... Our working experiences & fond memories in Singapore will stay in our hearts to treasure & to learn ... 🙏🌷🌿
I always cross the border with this food for thought in mind: While Singaporeans are mostly crossing the causeway to enjoy cheap food, goods and services, Our Malaysian friends are crossing to end poverty, spending hours to commute daily/or staying away from their family and friends, so to provide something better for their family and themselves. This reminded me of how blessed I am, and I am reminded to never take them for granted, while appreciating the resilience and determination of those who work tirelessly to create better futures for their loved ones.
Nonsense, only non-educated Malaysians will sacrifice their life working in Singapore for a lavish lifestyle. Now imagine, non-educated Singaporeans have to work 3 to 4 jobs just to live in the world's most expensive city. Malaysians have a choice which Singaporeans don't.
Everytime you cross the causeway, just remember that your malaysian neighbour are always mocks Indonesian just because less than 1% of its population coming to work in malaysia but on the other hand more than 3% of malaysia's populations flooded the causeway to go to work in Singapore.
They aren't ending poverty. They can always earn the Malaysian wages but come because they can earn more here with the stronger Singapore dollar. Actually they spend their disposable income in Malaysia too.
@@s._3560 Exactly, they come here not to end poverty. Far from the truth. They come here for luxury. Just cross the causeway can get them 3.5x salary that's too easy and cheap for them.
