    So for those wondering the other Duaradin gods we know are active are Gazul Warden of the Halls of the Ancestors, Morgrim who has been hinted to be among the Kharadron, and Hashut the Dread Father of the Chaos Duardin. There are hints at others but those 3 are the ones that GW has been very upfront about.
    Valaya is still dead and eaten by Nagash. Though even still she has a large influence due to Grungni keeping her teachings and memory alive.

    I love the Fyreslayers. It bums me out how much they get crapped on so much when they have such and interesting story and Lore. So much cool potential for fun stuff story and model wise. All of thier short story stuff and when they show up places is cool. I know a lot of people hate that they are not old world slayers but I feel like they are such a good AOS high fantasy take on that idea and the breaking of Grimnir is such an interesting story device.

  • @PaintPlastic
    @PaintPlastic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    lol the missing god trope is so common in AoS. it features in fyreslayers (grimnir), hedonites (slaanesh), kharadron and dispossessed (grungni), idoneth (mathlaan) and daughters of khaine (khaine)

    • @theDackjanielz
      @theDackjanielz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well slaanesh has been reborn, grimnir is still around hes just in a million bits, Grungni is very much around he recently shoo'ed off Belakor - although i will admit i dont know about the other two.....I am under the impression that Morathi is basically Khaine now.

    • @2Tough
      @2Tough  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I’ll push back on this a bit:
      I think there’s a difference between a missing god and a shattered/defeated one, especially to a martial culture like the FS.
      Slaanesh has functionally broken out, the KO aren’t missing Grugni, they actively don’t want him, mathlaan isn’t a god in the same way in AOS and khaine is a lie

    • @ElodieCunningham
      @ElodieCunningham 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@2Tough The Idoneth worship Mathlaan specifically *because* he's dead. A dead god can't decide you're a mistake and attempt to genocide you, a living God, teclis, can

    • @adambielen8996
      @adambielen8996 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daughers thought they had Khaine but just needed to bring him back to life. The Idoneth completely understand that Mathlaan is dead and just venerate his memory. The Dispossessed still have Grungni as he still hands out blessings and some aid to his followers be they Duardin, Human, Aelves, or even Ogor. And yes, Kharadron reject Grungni (as a whole though they still have some that worship him) but he still helps them from the shadows.

    Its Valaya. She's essentially the ancestor goddess and wife to both Grungni and Grimnir who gave the knowledge of runecrafting to the dwarfen people.
    I will never call them duardin because it sounds stupid.
    She's known as the dwarfen goddess of wisdom and is known as the sleeping deity. She is the closest thing that the dwarf has to Isha in terms of a compassionate deity where she is all about the gentler side of dwarfs aside from oaths and grudges that focuses on healing and moderation.
    I was of the impression that she was killed.

    Valaya is our goddess of hearth and home. Aspects of duardin life which are as abscent as the maker god. Nothing but faithless capatalists, honorless merscenaries, and toymakers for the godking left in the realms.
    A while ago someone gave me a theory that Valaya is now leading the Chaos Dwarfs after getting frustrated with the other gods and chaining them to a mountain. So that lore bit about a schism in the dwarf pantheon is super interesting

    All the expectation about a dwarf soup battetome (orruk warclans stile) had to do with that secret. Specially with broken reamls belakor. In the end Grungni is showing up and the runefather Drongon just rescued decides to shout out to the whole tavern the truth about ur-gold. The Kharadron Overlords present starts respecting fyreslayers more now that they understand why would they be so fixated on Gold.

      Things is, its bad news all over again for Gotrek Gurrnison because supposedly the master rune in his chest is slowly transforming him into Grimnir 2.0
      It's possible because in a sense Grimnir has returned through Gotrek as their god reborn in new flesh and he is not a happy slayer. Gotrek would sooner strike down Grimnir if he ever returned.

    hello friends, I was doing some research in the previous core rulebook for worldbuilding purposes and I was hoping someone could answer my question:
    What were the other gods doing before sigmar discovered them?
    From the text's description, dracothion found sigmar clinging to the husk of the old world and led him to the mortal realms... but then he just sort of walked around and started finding ppl?
    Did ppl like nagash and grimnir and gork/mork just sort of--materialize--with the realms?

    • @theDackjanielz
      @theDackjanielz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah amusingly i think that is roughly it, when the old world exploded the magic inside released and then coalesced - so i think a number of these gods and mortals were already "inside the magic bubbles" so to speak and the new weird world materialized around them.

    The thing that sadly makes me despise the Fyreslayers (when the originals all were a cult of badasses) no matter their lore, is precisely that they take contracts from Chaos.
    The would be in for a veeery rude awakening to know that if Grimnir had his physical form, he would slaughter the fyreslayers towards extinction knowing that they traded with Chaos. And Grimnir has grudges aplenty with them.
    No ifs and or buts.

      @endwarAH80blackfoot 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theDackjanielz While I am not sure if its considered outdated lore, but as according to Realmslayer, while Brodur of Clan Umbak tried to spin it as honorable and spiritual, he did not deny about taking contracts from Chaos and by that logic train the ruinous powers, undead, skaven, ogres and greenskins.
      Worse still, it remains a possibile implication that his clan might have actually did done contracts for Chaos.
      Ergo accepting the 'oath' of Ur Gold contracts from whoever pays them. To be fair, mayhaps some clans do hold vitriolic contempt for Chaos proper much like Grimnir as they should, but it remains disturbing by the implications that it is considered proper to take oath contracts from the ruinous powers.
