Just catching up on reviews. Loved as usual. No change in gear despite writer being your friend. Liked this film enough, I just wish they went further with the comedy 😩😩
KOK has always had the ability of pulling off a comedic role with a straight face. Anglophone Nollywood never really exploited that, sadly; but those of us that saw him in Igbo-language movies like 'Circle of Doom' in the 1990s know the guy can be funny.
I think I should give you flowers for this review! 💐 💐 You said everything I had in mind when I watched it even though I know nothing about cinematography. KOK is goated, I enjoyed his character. When I gisted my husband about the movie, I remember hinting KOK was the only person that did it for me. And then Uzor Arukwe is an Honourable mention. It would have been better if Janta just spoke pidgin and he'd have delivered more comedic slang or acts. And then completely scrap the patua cos it was not giving at all. I said the same thing, that how can his FIL be a rtd general and no sign of soldiers in the building as security, and he's not calling in favours to rescue his grandchild but rather focused on why his son in law didn't confide in him. Making the army or force go after Uzor's character would have pushed him into more hiding and plotting strategies to still be at leverage, thereby making Janta more useful as he would be the only one that can guess his operations and find his hiding place where they are holding Sammy's daughter. That restaurant food scene was so organic to watch, I also wished I was the one eating the food 😂😂. Great Review. It was spot on, thank you.
I enjoyed the review as usual.
Much appreciated! Thank you.
