I agree and they're absolutely in the right. Stateside, if some clown would disrespect the Tomb of the Unknowns, the guard on duty would behave in exactly the same way as the King's Guard. Because they have closed most of the mental hospitals so patients now live on the streets or go in and out of the prison system. Part of Thatchers "Care in the Community". I was a psych nurse for years trying to clean up this mess.
Allowing people to get this close and taking their tourist photographs needs to be stopped.
I'm afraid it's going to reach a point where the guards and the public will have to be separated. I remember as a child back in the fifties, my parents taking me to see the changing of the guard outside Buckingham Palace. At that time the guardsmen paraded outside the Palace gates and railings. But even then, when we tend to think people were better behaved, the soldiers had to be moved back behind the railings into the quadrangle, because of the sort of behaviour we are now witnessing at Horse Guards. I remember there were incidents where some idiots were sticking apples onto the soldiers bayonets when they were stood at ease, crazy stuff like that. I'm also surprised there hasn't been an accident involving a horse. When I see irresponsible parents carrying babies in their arms right up to the head of an unpredictable horse, it makes by blood run cold thinking of what might have happened. No, the preponderance of camera phones and TikTok posers with their stupid 'V' signs have turned the place into a cross between Disneyland and a circus. Time to call a halt.

Aggressive ,calling on others to support her when any reasonable person can see she is behaving badly , calling on God for support, aggressive to the police ( they recognised her problem, handled it well and didn`t make it worse by confronting her), no acceptance that she was rude and in the wrong.
Saying it`s mental health is being kind ,she showed all the aggression of a drunkard.
I think they could have been more robust in their response.. These types can easily escalate to the point where they become violent and some innocent bystander will get hurt.

This type of thing is taking the police’s eye of the job of protecting the area.
I've yet to visit the UK, so I don't know if these videos give a false impression. That said, it surprises me that the area where the guards are posted, and move back and forth, isn't at least marked off on the ground, and that there aren't signs to say, "watch out when in the red zone" or something of that sort. It's awfully generous to let people get so close to see the horses or get photos, but I think it leads some dim people to misunderstand the situation.

I imagine that one day this display of the guard will be cancelled....not due to this, but from that it will be deemed offensive to all the new arrivals.... be prepared for that to happen.
The thing is this is not a display this is tradition and has been going on for hundreds of years. This will continue but tourists may have to be right across the road to see even a glimpse of it. Sad but certainly possible. Most tourists seen on here do not deserve such close encounters they have no regard for either the Guard or the horse, go buy a postcard!
