I bought the complete seat for my 2017 KLR from them, The Commuter seat and in my opinion it is harder the the stock 2017 seat. I ended up put the original seat back on after several rides.
Just did a 7 hr ride on my KLR. My tail bone was killing me. Stock seat right now but gonna check out their website. Coming off a Concours, I gotta do something!
I've always wondered about that Commuter seat. It looks crazy comfortably. I had a Corbin seat on my DR650, and it was surprisingly comfortable for all day rides. It felt like a solid piece of wood when you first sat on it, but as the hours piled up, I never really felt any hot spots or aching points. The Seat Concepts you went with just looks so dang nice. The seat on my new KLR is pretty cozy from the factory, but after 4-5 hours, I was miserable.
@@WanderingBeast yep flat as a board with a horrible forward leaning angle. Being 6 ft 5 it keeps wanting to push me forward which eventually will Jam my knees into the fairing. So I have to stay fairly tense to stay in position on the seat which causes fatigue and soreness. And I am just not going to lower the rear of the bike to make the seat level lol
how is it when you slide your butt back to shift the weight off the front tire? im worried about the saddle part being a little too far forward and crowding you against the tank?
its fine for me, but Im usually on the pegs not in the seat, but when Im on the road I dont feel crowded and Im a big guy. you could always just get the stock style and not the commuter
so pricey! and i have a 94 its holding currently at 28000 miles and my a$$ only has the last 8 on the stock seat, and its not the worst but definitely no where near the best. They are cheaper than ALOT of seats but still think $400 is a bit much
The Commuter looks almost identical to the Corbin that I have on my 02 ZZR1200. The Corbin is hard as Hell, you're right.
I did this mod on my f650gs and love it, my friend got one for his Triumph explorer. Well worth 170 bucks.
nice, Im currently putting one on my FJR

Same here!
Had one for 2012 klr...
Hard as a rock.. Paid alot of money.. Will half to replace the foam.. Can't seat on it more than 15minutes at a time.

Probably going to do this for my 2001 KLR. Might just drive to San Jacinto.
If you bought this set I know damn well you regret it.
Very informative "real world" instruction. Thanks
does this reduce the annoying forward angle of the seat while riding.
Haven't noticed. But the stock seat is flat as a board.
