You must be a class apart within the blacksmiths community, doing that fine work! And the good camera-work, the no-talking, the nature intermezzo's, and the magic from time to time, make your video's very enjoyable!!!
New smith here, well getting back into it after screwing around with it for a month 10 years ago (when I was 12). I also admire him a lot for always wearing FULL safety gear. It's a miracle some of these other guys, talented as they may be, can be brought to put on even eye protection, let alone ears and breathing.
Ok he is showing off now. And what a storm. It reminded of an ancient proverb: "It doesn't matter if the world is full of water, to ducks it only comes up to their ankles."
What really sets apart this channel I think, besides the entrancing production and themasterful crafting, is that unlike many others that focus mostly if not only in blades and weapons, Torbjörn demonstrates what a variety of things can be made by blacksmithing, you never know what he's gonna do next either.
Who would have thought the humble coat hanger could be made to look so elegant ! It would also have to be the strongest coat hanger ever made - you could hang a suit of armour on that one and it wouldn’t even flex ! It always amazes me what skilled hands and a focused mind can create ! Exquisite workmanship and a fantastic video as always !
That is such an everyday item. The difference is, that’s the most beautiful hanger I have ever seen! I never thought I would ever say a hanger was beautiful, but there ya go! Lol
I set here and think of what a wonderful treasure you are building now for your future generations. No doubt one day long after we are all gone your great great grandchildren and beyond will be able to hold a tool in their hands while being able to watch it being produced and learn about the man that they never got the chance to meet.
Nice work as always. This is what sets Torbjörn apart from other blacksmiths. He's the best blacksmith i've seen. When i saw his good work, i immediately knew that his TH-cam channel was worth subscribing to. He's the creator of the art we all call blacksmithing. It feels like he's been doing this for at least 1 million years
Its funny yknow i always forget what hes making so i sit there for half an hour on the edge of my seat wondering what hes doing and then he makes this great tool and im like 😱 its amazing!!
I have been blacksmithing as a hobby for a few years now. I have not been able to afford any classes or face to face training. I am however, a student of youtube university. I have seen many blacksmiths on youtube and in person as I am a member of a blacksmithing association In Missouri and I have never witnessed such work that is as beautiful and precise and made to look so easy. Your videos are well made and I can tell that you are one of those men that when you do something, it is phenomenal. Thank you for sharing you talent and hard work. This is what young people all over the world need right now, to see good examples of men working hard and achieving. So, thank you.
That was amazing. Really enjoyed watching you work. The way you used the big hammer with feather light touches to form the scroll on the hook. Great skill. Nice set up as well.
Once again we are fortunate enough to witness the fusion of superior craftsmanship , creativity (both with the variety of tools and camera work) and entertainment. Thank you for continuing to inspire.
Beautiful just beautiful, The ability you have has got to be a gift from God. I realize the hard work and countless hours of honing you skills you have gone through and at this point I truly believe you could blacksmith a birthday cake 🤣 please keep posting your videos, your fan in Alabama.
That's got to be the nicest coat hook I've seen. You never disappoint Torbjorn. It would be interesting to see all the ones that you made to get to this one.
When you realign the little wooden stick square with the others... That's why you're that good at this craft I guess. Method, care, attention to the detail. Great work Thunder Bear
OMGosh! I love this video on some many levels! What a master! So many techniques/processes to absorb and appreciate! From metal, to wood, leather to 3D printing, what an exceptional craftsman! Thunder Bear can do it all! Thanks for sharing! Much appreciated! :)
That's one heavy duty hanger!I've always thought of these things as mass produced items but then I thought of back in the day, after a hard day's work,a fellow would come home from work and need to hang up his suit of armour. This must have been a household staple back then! Thanks again for all you do,always enjoyable!!!
Always learn some new technique from you and your videos. The order of forging and the very clean forgings is a real credit to you. Thank you for sharing your skill.
Amazing coat hanger!!! Perfect as always . I pray no damage was suffered during the wind storm! Looked close to a bunch of wind falls ! Maybe some wood for handles? Be safe brother !
It is a totally different take on a hanger, beautiful workmanship. You never take the easy way out and l love it. Great job as always. Also noticed that the water is pretty high. I am in southern Ontario Ca.and the water is high here also but not for the same reason. Lake level are at their highest level ever and not from the spring thaw. We didn't get much snow and the lakes never really froze up much. Lake shores are getting beat up and lots of flooding. Some people don't believe in the global warming but l think that their head is in the sand.
Good day sir...please keep you and your family safe during this time of disease outbreak. Thank you for sharing us your masterful skills. I always look forward to seeing and learning from you. This would be gr8 to have...a closet full of these. Such beauties. Don’t want Joan Crawford swinging this at you screaming, “ No More Wire Hangars....Ever!” This would put a serious hurt on you...bless you all and again thank you...
Precise as always. Your projects are pure textbook old-school blacksmithing. Even, smooth texture, pleasant form and fully functional. Would really like to see you tackle something like a Chisel or a razor perhaps.
That is really awesome. I have something similar for my welding equipment at work. It is a old wood and metal hanger for suits, that has a squeeze clamp for pants. I have my jacket and glove on it for grab and go. My welding hood even hangs on it. I kinda want to build now that holds more and looks cooler like yours. Thank you for the relaxing video and cool project.
Beautiful work, as always! You make it look so easy.. and I'm so jealous of your beautiful power hammer! Keep up the great work and I hope you and your family are safe and healthy during these crazy times
Of all the things I have watched you forge, ( And you have done many interesting pieces... actually all! ) this is by far the most enjoyable and learning experience, who would think to forge a coat hanger? I particularly found clever the half round cross section, also the special effects...amusing. Your efforts are an inspiration. Your zeal for metal work I’m quite sure brings you much satisfaction. Thank you for sharing with us all.
Happy Easter Thunder Bear! Fairly new subscriber/viewer who is catching up by watching the older videos which are just as entertaining and informative. I can pretty much tell when it was made b y the level in the BLO jug! Really enjoy learning by watching your process. Thanks.
You Never cease to amaze me with your projects. Mind blown on this one with your skill and deft hand work to make a precision, perfectly symmetrical coat hanger from steel. Learned a lot more from these techniques. Thank You Torbjorn! Mighty Blustery interlude this time...Stay warm and safe...ATB to you and yours. PJ
I am Knife and Sword maker in my professional life but Believe me it would be a great luck if i ever get a chance to learn more blacksmithing from you. As well as Gardening i love ur satisfaction man. Greetings from PAKISTAN
It is always so surprisng to me how you treat the iron that it gets into the final form. But I would love your videos also, if you did nothing than showing us your great workshop. You have the most well equipped forgery I have ever seen. You have all the tools and jigs for every purpose one could imagine! Love it!
When I saw you using boiled linseed, I found some in my father's shed and have since obsessively wire-wheeled all of his and my hammers up and oiled them, along with a bunch of cold chisels and plastering trowels, which got left in a damp state and rusted. They look grand. Thanks.
This makes me want to start making hangers. I am very picky about my hangers. I would love to replace all in my closet. What I would like to add is a crossbar to hang my suit pants on. Wonderful work and thank you for your thoughtfulness on not talking your way thru it. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
I see the Christmas Elf's gift is still effective; if only I could split mild steel that easily. The care you put into finishing your projects make them stand far above most other blacksmiths work that I have seen. Well done! Thank you for the video.
I looked up the maker of your shirt and found quite an interesting line of work wear. There is a red and black plaid quilted jacket that I’m lusting over. Hopefully I will get one. Thank you for this marvelous channel and your beautiful work. As always, wish you and yours the best. Yours truly,Robert.
What an amazing man and your skills! I enjoy everyone of your videos, they are relaxing, comfortable, knowledgeable, and entertaining. All from someone with few words. So when you do speak, listen up, because I’m sure it’s important. The high winds and flooding looked cold and miserable, I hope that wasn’t your wood shop with the water lapping up to it.
Finally, a coat hanger for the real man of steel!

I wrote just the same sort of thing on another of Torbjorn's videos, they are an example to all TH-camrs.
hi everyone,Good Morning from Cambodia.Wish all dear friends have a nice Sunday
@@CountryLifeVlogofSORIYA HELLO fellow brother, I'm from Cambodia too.
That coat hanger will support any coat - and with the person still in it! Another fabulous video, thank you!
Ok he is showing off now.
And what a storm. It reminded of an ancient proverb: "It doesn't matter if the world is full of water, to ducks it only comes up to their ankles."
lol, I couldn't imagine that ancient proverbs are be so funny
Ive also heard one. That life is all about perspective. The sinking of the titanic was a miracle to the lobsters in the kitchen.
What ıs that substance you burned ?

You know he's a master when he just casually makes a half-round die in the middle of the project. Wish I had half the skill, but I'm still learning.
hi sister
That is such an everyday item. The difference is, that’s the most beautiful hanger I have ever seen! I never thought I would ever say a hanger was beautiful, but there ya go! Lol
Who would've thought a coat hanger as a piece of art , you Sir are one of the most talented blacksmiths I Have seen on youtube .
Thank you Douglas!
Only you could make a coat hanger a piece of art. Great video as always.

No doubt one day long after we are all gone your great great grandchildren and beyond will be able to hold a tool in their hands while being able to watch it being produced and learn about the man that they never got the chance to meet.
Yet another common item made to high standards, and beautifully done. Its a real pleasure to watch any video on this channel.
Thank you!
That's very very nicely done! Great little tip to punch a hole to mark the end of a splitt. Saves a lot of fiddling in forging that transition nice.
I can't imagine the amount of work to split that bar without a power hammer. Once again, a very nice work!
:) Thanks
I thought the same thing, but I still wanna try it! Maybe with a striker.... lol

Thanks again for these long-awaited minutes. As always great image quality and video editing. Impressive sound of hammer on the large anvil.
Truly artisan. Beauty in simple forms! If only simple items could be so tactile all the time.
"Just for fun", as you mentioned in the description. That is indeed the spirit.
Thanks for participating.

I honestly never thought that watching a coat hanger could be so satisfying, that is beautiful sir! I love watching you work magic with the steel.
It's something we take for granted but you turn it into a work of art.

the sound of a hammer is always pleasing! thanks!
finally a hanger strong enough for my wool coat
That could hold the whole sheep!
How in the world did you make making a coat hanger fun to watch? Enjoyed every minute of that. Thank you.
Now it's time I made one.
Expertly done as always! Nice..
Thanks Gary! Judging by the comments I need to make a chainmail armor to go with the hanger .... hmmm
Love it 😂... So much skill used to produce something we all own that is as cheap as chips.
I am always impressed how effective and universal the variety of smith's tools can be used... thumb up, man.
I am in no way a coat hanger expert, but that is without a doubt the most beautiful coat hanger ever made!!! 🇦🇺
:) Thanks!

Another simplest of items, and yet a work of art at the same time that should last at least 500 - 600 yrs, or more. Amazing.

Wow, beautiful work. I've wanted to do some variation of a coat hanger myself, and now I have a version to inspire me to try even harder when I do.

Awesome! An artist can be recognized when he creates simple things.
This is why blacksmithing must be considered as art. Great job and fine art of steel.
Wife: I need at least 50 of those for the wardrobe ! 😁😁
Wardrobe: Collapses.
Yeah!
cheaper to buy in Ikea and they will be lighter ))
That is when you learn casting. In my mind if it will work as mild steal and doesn't need to be very strong it would be wah better to cast it.
