- Here is my complete updated guide to Kafka! She is THE DoT unit to have in Honkai: Star Rail. Since her release in 1.2, we've seen new best relics for Kafka, indirect buffs to her signature light cone, new sub DPS, a perfect harmony unit, and more! I am wanna pull for Black Swan because I want my Kafka to be the best she can be (since she is my fav character), but at the same time am considering dropping some pulls on the LC banner to see if I can get Kafka's light cone for the same reason. Ideally I get both but trying to resist temptation to pull for LC
As much as more DoT would be cool, what I most want Black Swan to be is a Stat debuff machine. That's what I think of when I think of debuffers, not alternative DPS, and without SW only Pela and Welt really fit that on my account.
Used all my jades on Ratio LC so I will just pray for that luck to magically pull her 🙏

Kafka was right all along guys, patience was all we needed for her LC to become broken with Prisioner and Glamoth sets (and BS coming for those who know). Finally got her LC and now she's way too fast lmao.

I got her lc too. and I kept her speed to be 2 spd lower than Sampo to explode his dots, now she is way faster than him lmao
I would consider rolling for her lightcone if I didn't want Black Swan for dream DoT comp. Gotta save all for that...
Excited to see how Black swan changes the Kafka game. At this point I think I have more characters built to support Kafka than I have ready to make a second team 😅
You could do 2nd team with BS I guess since all your mats supp are meant for DOTs

Since the rates of the 5* LC is way for forgiving than genshin's it would be viable to save up for an lc when you got both or not interested in the current patch's characters
with the direction the game is headed and the expansions on DoT we have gotten, could definitely see DoT become the meta for the game in the future (if this keeps up that is)

In the same boat as you, friend. Her original run wasn't kind to me so that dashed any hopes of getting her e1 or s1 (although her cone wasn't as impactful back then before prisoner set and glamoth). Here's hoping we get lucky with swan and that her next rerun is in a better time.

really excited for black swan but I’ll miss sampo, I love his character and design. I auto cleared pure fiction 4 with 3 stars using loucha, ting yun, kafka, and serval. other side was fu xuan, ruan mei, herta, and himeko. I want the 4 piece of the new dot set but my kafka’s stats are so good and I’m getting unlucky with farming those relics rippppp

Thank you for the video. I skipped Kafka the first time because I had a JY and wanted to guarantee DHIL. Now I am more receptive of her because I rolled great Prisoner sets and her comps would take a load off the Follow Up and Hypercarry focus my other DPS need.
That said, I am disappointed that Luka is not a dream team partner for her. He's my favorite 4* aesthetically, and I have been trying to make him work without Kafka since his release to little avail.
What is the biggest reason Luka isn't as big as Sampo? The lack of Aoe? His larger need of element weak and Break DoT to get the most out of his uppercuts?
I would argue that is a mix of both, but especially lack of AoE. IT hurts him much because to go for a new target, he has to reapply his E, and if the target doesnt have physical weakness, it hurts his rotation between skills and empowered autos.

@guobacertified I have built my Kafka prior to this vid essentially the way you have described but I have a few questions.
1. Do I run my guanifen with S5 solitary healing or do I run her with S5 resolution as I am unclear which is better to use with this unit currently?
2. As my Kafka is E0S1, is it worth for me to pull for her E1? I very much enjoy playing with her but am wondering about the value of her E1 would be worth it. For context I do have a fully built Ruan Mei, Huohuo, pela, tingyun, and guanifen.
3. What speed is best for Kafka on glamoth when I am running her with her signature lc but I do not have an asta built? This is something that is unclear to me?
If you or anyone else can answer this for me it would be of great help as I am unsure.
Hello, not guoba here. But im gonna answer number 3 for you.
Generally to hit 160 speed on glamoth for that 18% dmg bonus, you need 146 speed on kafka since her lc gives her 14 speed at 3 stacks. Hope this helps 🫡

More speed is nice and the ideal would be like around 4k attack. I want to get my Kafka even stronger and reach 200 speed in combat with 4k attack

As of now, my Kafka is in the top 100 (171 speed bracket and 4k attack), my goal is to get to top 10. And then maybe aim for the top 1

I'm still in a bind whether to pull her sig LC or not. I have her at E1 by accident. How lucky. And still using Fermata. My GNSW still low superimpose and did not feel for upgrading. Any suggestions?
Loved the updated guide! I can't find the answer anywhere but is there any consensus on how her 4* LC compares to each other? e.g. at which superimposition does GNSW outperform S5 Fermata? And would Ruan Mei change the order because break effect would be more in demand in her teams?
Luka is absolutely the goat for this Moc for floor 11 and 12. With Gepard and the stunner on 11 and Kafka on 12

I’ve always used kafka as a hypercarry and she’s been my best dps since she came out. I can’t switch to prisoner tho because I got cracked roles on my lightning but my planar set was trash so I had no issues transferring over to glamoth
Kafka with PAYN day 1 riseee.
As i can said she bring so much fun to me because her kit synergies with so much characters i can use and you can bring her to almost all endgame contents without any much problems unlike some dpses( SU, GnG, Swarm, PF, MoC)

Hey, I got a little confused with the wording.
The Sig LC’s DoT is triggered per hit so recommended EHR is only 29%?
If I have E1 how much will I need 67%?
Is it better to have a 144 SPD Sampo and a 143 SPD Kafka or a 135 SPD Sampo and a 147 SPD Kafka. I have Ruan Mei so that will push Kafka to 160+ and activate Glamoth’s 160 Spd dmg bonus.

When she first came around i opted to get her e2 instead of her cone and she fell a little underwhelming. Then the game blessed us with the herta nihility cone and ive been using that on kafka ever since. If she is already at 163 spd do you think I still want her LC? Im thinking skip especially since her partner in crime BS will have no problem maintaining the 3+ dots

I didnt get what all the fuss with kafka was about, but I LOVE HER! Ive been laughing all day watching dot damage tick. Absolutely love it. Problem now is, i have no jades and a black swan on the way!?
I mean with penacony being released in 2.0, the amount of jades we get will be higher than usual if you consider all the chests, quests and stuff

I was able to get E1 Kafka, and settled her on 2pc Lightning/2pc Hackerspace with SSS ornaments for the moment. Working on getting Sampo and Lil Gui leveled up before focusing on getting her the DoT set and some Glamoth. But so far, she's crushing the opposition. And Black Swan coming up is only making me more excited with DoT team experimentation.
I pulled for kafla and I have Sampo e6 and Guinafen e0 both unbuilt. I assume E6 Sampo is better but is there any way Gui is actually better even at e0?

I started playing recently during huohuo's banner so i dont have many 5 star characters and was really lacking good lightning damage, so i skipped blade for queen kafka. Got her and then in the first 8 pulls ever on the weapon banner i got her light cone! Really hoping for E1 now

So, do you recommend ultimately pulling for kafka's lightcone if I already have gnsw s4? I do have ruan mei to easily hit 146 spd and all the other dot units to cover for weaknesses. Or do you think it's more worth to pull for something a bit more useful like Topaz' lightcone? I think i have the jades to spare so I want your honest opinion.
Thinking about it now, it's crazy how many characters I built around kafka (built Asta and Serval too with the original intent of using them with her) and I just haven't noticed. Maybe she used her spirit whisper on me idk LOL
If you're not planning on stopping using your Kafka, yes I would recommend pulling for her LC. I had a dream it will gain a lot more importance when Black Swan releases, hint hint, nudge nudge, as having multiple different DoTs from one unit at the same time might beneficial... You'll see what I mean when the 2.0 version preview stream rolls around.
Of course Topaz LC is also now more important to get for her because of Dr. Ratio - an extra debuff for him is highly beneficial and if you manage to get topaz both E1 and S1, that's 3 debuffs she provides by herself automatically, which makes her basically inseparable from Ratio.

Really wrestling my brain here if I wanna get PAYN or Ratio cone, honestly, or if I'd rather just skip the cones entirely and just guarantee black swan and maybe try my luck at her cone. I wanted e1 kaf back in 1.2 but had terrible luck and had to go to pity twice just to get her e0 and I'd rather not risk a 50/50 since I'm willing to bet swan will be better than any cone or eidolon for dot teams. Atm I'm pulling for ratio cone but I'm still about 25 pulls away from pity so I could maybe try and get kafka's instead still. Man, Honkai banners are pain. Regardless, great video as always Guoba and I'm glad to see that recent events haven't affected your quality at all. Keep up the good work, mate.
Sadly got no rolls for her LC and I want to save for BS and Jing Yuan LC. Will get her signature during her next rerun though, shes fun to use and seeing enemies melt from dots is nice.

Ruan mei improve my kafka very much back then i only deal 50-70k with ult rn like 150k-250k and the fact that its not with black swan i have kafka and ruan mei both at e1 + lc so lets see how much impact kafka will deal with black swan or the real question should be how much black swan impact black swan gives
Hey Guoba, hope you're having a good day! Do you think getting her E2 or signature lightcone is better? Personally I like Fermata or Welt lc so I'd rather go for E2 not only for her own damage but the team.
I prefer S1 over E2
Her LC is amazing because it lets her skill put erode dot on 3 targets. It's also a nice stat stick as it has over 500 atk.

I got Kafka on her first run. I didn’t have any other DoT units built, so I equipped her for direct damage to use as my 2nd DPS (after Blade). After getting Guinaifen, I gave Guin all of the DoT set, so Kafka was left with the otherwise unused FU pieces. Kafka is using Fermata. (I like everyone on LCs with their pictures on it. Yes, I know you can’t see them in battle.) I hope this is OK.
I guess this is a “kritka” build. I heard that out of DoT or direct damage, the best build is technically hybrid, but that requires godly sub-stats.
I'm pulling for Kafka but got Yanqing, so mad right now. Hopefully I'll be able to get the jades for the last 20 pulls I need for hard pity before the banner ends.
Kafka has been my main since her first run, and I was excited to get a chance at her E1 with this return. I like the logic behind Ruan Mei being her support, but the thing that makes it difficult for me to slot her in is that Silver Wolf is just such a difficult support to replace. Sure, if I'm up against enemies that are already lightning weak, I can make the swap, but if they're not, it's just so much more of an uphill battle to fight without that toughness break. Is it still worth running 2 DoTs + Ruan Mei in those cases? Would I be better off subbing SW instead of the second DoT?
If you can guarantee Lightning weakness with SW that is a tough call I think. Ruan Mei prob favored vs 3+ enemies (AOE) while SW may be best vs 1-2 boss enemies (single target) with no side mobs or side mobs who don't respawn. Ruan just has a ton of damage boosting effects including RES PEN which helps with enemies resisting Lightning damage, so I think she would prob overcome SW in AOE with 3+ enemies pretty convincingly even with no Lighning weakness. If you ran Ruan Mei with Kafka and there is not Lightning Weakness, you would prob want to at least bring a DoT sub DPS who enemies are weak to for general damage as well as weakness break synergy with Ruan Mei. It's worth testing though, I cannot say for sure who would be better and I see benefits to both picks.
With Kafka on my account now, im officially 3 for 3 on winning Stellaron Hunters on 50/50 on their reruns lol. Saving for Black Swan now, and hoping to put them together for a cracked team when 2.0 comes along

my main carries are jingliu and kafka, wondering which ruanmei would support better (i also have silverwolf (+ gepard for a mostly ice team), tingyun, and pela). also wondering whether guinaifen or sampo are typically better in dual dot teams if the enemy does not break to either
As a Kafka enjoyer who is the exact same as you with my other carry being Jingliu, I reccommend Ruan Mei be with Kafka generally. Jingliu has other very strong supports like Bronya/Pela/Tingyun/Silverwolf, and I think Ruan Mei increases a DoT team's damage more dramatically than she does a typical crit team.
Guinafen is 1000% the pick over Sampo if they are not weak to wind, especially in AoE. I favor her way more than Sampo in general. I only pick Sampo over Guinafen if the enemy is weak to wind but not fire. That being said, when Black Swan comes out she is going to be heavily prioritized over both of them most likely. My planned comp is Sustain/Kafka/Ruan Mei/Black Swan.
If I run Kafka and Jingliu at the same time in MoC, I usually run something like this
Sustain (Gepard) - Ruan Mei - Kafka - (Guinafen/Sampo/Luka)
Sustain (Fu Xuan) - Bronya - Jingliu - (Pela/Silverwolf)
If you don't have Bronya, you can run any 2 together with Jingliu between Pela, Silverwolf, and Tingyun. They all synergize well IMO. Sometimes I run Jingliu/Fu Xuan/Silverwolf to have a duo element comp so if enemy is weak to quantum I can guarantee ice weakness with Silverwolf.

I lost pity to welt lightcone again. it is s2 now. I was wondering how it compares to my gnsw s3
i pretty happily skipped her debut banner and was going to do so again... but black swan won over my heart, and thus i pulled the dot queen herself to enable black swan to pop off. i would've skipped again if it weren't for black swan, but i have no regrets getting kafka. even with what little i have invested into her (since i wasn't ever planning to get her), she still manages to destroy enemies- dot in general has just been super fun, haha. it's so satisfying watching them take a turn, just for their hp bar to get insta-deleted
I just don’t get why kafkas skill dosent applt a DoT. And we have characters who do it with basic ATK her Dot shouldn’t only come from her Ult.
So, does the debuff from the Resolution LC count as a DoT? I was thinking of putting it on Sampo in a Kafka/Sampo/RM team

Guoba, Would you be so kind as to explain just quick, the technical attributes Between, Glamoth and Space Healing Station, obviously my reasoning dont make seance! I understand it that if you Get 120+ Speed on Kafka on SHS your attack will increase by 12% for having SHS and +12% for having 120+ Speed = 24%? Where on Glamoth you Need 160 speed just to reach 18% atack boost? Thank you for your time, appreciate your Vids!
