Hi. Thanks for all the very informative videos regarding pool maintenance. What do you think about waterguru sense?

That’s the one of most interest to me because it sits in the skimmer, doesn’t need a subscription and connects to wifi without a bridge.

I've heard good things about it. Seems to be a solid product.

I did a lot of research on the WaterGuru Sense as I was interested. I'm not anymore. I've learned it DOES require a subscription, or more accurately, a lot of consumables. A ribbon cartridge is required to be purchased which I believe is about every 2 months. The unit then uses internal color sensors to read the test on the cartridge for you. Given the cost of the cartridges, the upfont cost of the unit, plus constantly changing batteries and cartridges plus the fact that color strip testing isn't particularly accurate, I've decided the unit is not a good choice, at least not for me.
BTW, several of the (additional) "tests" the "Sense" can do are not automated, but need to be sent off for a lab check. They include those in the price to some degree, but they are not instant. The tests the Sense can do with its own cartridges are quite limited, and easily duplicated with a 6 in 1 test strip (at WAY less cost).

@@LFTRnow I’m still thinking about it. I don’t this this is the same color strip testing that you are thinking of and the reviews i’ve read say it’s quite accurate. as far as for consumables they all require them but you get to buy just what you need and don’t have to have a subscription even one that you out on pause. Batteries are needed in them all but this one uses regular C cells and they make rechargeable ones so again not an issue. The big win is that it is hidden in the skimmer, requires no wifi bridge and also measures your water flow through the skimmer although that’s not a big deal for me as i plan on an inline electronic flow gauge.

Be nice if it also tested ph.

They have one that does pH. I prefer to use one specifically for salinity.
