Yes yes yes, bulgarian lavender! The region they grow them - the Valley of the Tracian kings as we call it (or the areas of The towns of Kazanlak and Karlovo), is where my Mom is from. It is believed that this area is one of the few in the world where the climate and the soil are perfect for growing it. We produce the best lavender and rosa dascena oils and we take great pride with them in my country. Rose is one of our national symbols. I don't know why I got so excited hahah 😂❤ Thank you, Emma, for accidentally making one Bulgarian fangirl of yours so happy 😊

Future Primitive Soap seems to choose the ingredients very carefully ❤️ it is a shame that it is not as popular anymore for people here to grow and sell lavender and Rosa Damascena products as it once was when my mom was a little girl. She told me how during harvesting seasons for the roses, they would gather students from the local high schools to pluck them by hand. And it is a very specific time of year and time of the day when early in the morning the sun is not yet fully risen to preserve the aroma of the flowers. It very magical the way she tells me when she went on such harvests.
