Actually, the first time I saw a diamond painting it was a finished one my friend had made and hung... I thought I would never ever try it... I thought it was unnerving, too time consuming and even frustrating... Fast forward some years, my 5 yo gets a basic, cheap kids level diamond painting set for her birthday, and I get more enthralled than her... My first proper adult level kit is due for delivery tomorrow and I can't wait!
It's quite the opposite for me 😂 I wish I could call out of work and diamond paint all day, it's incredibly relaxing and satisfying when you finish different sections. I'd compare to people coloring a picture or doing a puzzle :)

I assume the translucent paper that you put on over the entire surface before beginning and then cut through in little sections is to protect both the adhesive and your hands. Is that something that comes with the kit or a trick you devised? What is it exactly? It looks like vellum or parchment, but obviously it doesn’t stick to the adhesive.

It's like doing puzzles - you have to leave it out on a table and work on it bit by bit. I don't have any place to do it though.
Try having a pillow or cushion behind your back, that always helps🤗and also stretch every now and then during long sessions!!
