  • if you own a 2007 mazda 3 and your ( AT ) light on your dashboard has come on then more than likely it'll be your tcm whos the culprit. This video was in no way a how to video since i am not licensed to do these types of works. Please ask help from a professional. I just wanted to make a video on how I replaced the tcm is all. I will not take responsibility for your actions if something or someone gets hurt. Thanks for watching !!

    Anyone watching this in 2020, a few things to note. This guy pulled this module from a scrap yard. Nothing wrong with that - but be aware that the most up-to-date module is the rev E, it ends in the E code. Also, mazda has said that the reinstall should no longer be placed above the trans as the heat was part of the issue. Mazda 3's have break lines that are behind the battery box, and it is now recommended to mount to those with zip ties. I never thought I would write something like that.... But the heat coming off the transmission was part of the problem with the internal design.
    I have to do this to my car (2.3L 08.5), I am looking for a better place to mount it. Possibly on the base of the battery box. We will see. GLTA and if you don't know what you're doing, see a professional!

    I also have a 2007 Mazda 3 with a 2.0 engine. I thought I was crazy because I could not find the TCM. I made a call to three different Mazda dealerships. Two of the dealerships could not explain why my Mazda didnt have a TCM. The third dealership told me right away that it would not have a TCM and explained that the "TCM" was intergrated with the Egine Control Module. This makes sense but it complicates things because the ECM is a much larger computer. On my to look for one at a junkyard.

      dude i have the same problem, and need to pick your brain if you dont mind....
      I have the same car, have been getting different AT codes, Solenoid B and C stuck on, was thinking it could be TCM because overheating and burning out computer seems like a common issue, but our TCM may not experience the same burn out rate as it is not affixed to hot transmission. any and all info you found would be great
      The problem im experiencing now is rough gear shifts, it gets stuck in 3rd, and I can shift into reverse, but the car does not roll backwards as if it was in neutral. So no reverse and rough shifts in drive, with limited gears. any help would be great

    Did you install the tcm back to original location? That spot on top of the tranny becomes hot and that's the reason why the tcm is fried, a few years of driving and that used tcm will go bad again. My mazda5 tcm is still good and I just move it away from that spot and zip tied it to the brake lines.

      @@axattackk ive heard the same. You might want to see what's best suited for your situation from a professional before deciding on that. A flush or change would be more financially friendly compared to installing a new or used transmission. Great video bro.. i have the same problem on my 2006 Mazda 3 also.. I'm almost certain it's the TCM... It's been acting up really bad lately.. almost daily. I been running it like that for a few months .. but in LA traffic I would pull over and wait a few minutes shut the car down and start it up again the check engine light would shut off but the AT light will stay...eventually tripping the check engine light again followed by stuck in 3rd gear at high rpms...some days it will trip others it won't but now I'm noticed the AT light staying on. I had a oil change about 3 weeks ago asked the mechanic to check the transmission fluid he told me the Transmission fluid was super dirty. I plane on having him flush and replace with new filter..for about $150.. something that has to be done.. but have a few questions..
    1: Hows your car running now..? I know it's been a few months has the light and issues come back?
    2: Do you think I my have damage my transmission by letting this problem go on for so long...?
    Also thank you for video I been doing a lot of research about this typical issue and its mo9of the time TCM... hope to hear from you soon
    Thanks Dave.

    • @Highway94
      @Highway94  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What's up Dave, I'm almost certain in time you might cause damage to the transmission. I changed mine months after the problem occured however I would only drive to work and back ( about 15min ) ask your mechanic diagnose the Mazda properly to find out wether or not it needs a new tcm or the transmission to be flushed. I'm certain it's the tcm based on on your description but it's better to be safe then spend extra money when you don't need to am I right? I would say since your is 2006 the tcm might be of a different part number. make sure your tcm has a compatible part number so IF YOU NEED to replace it you can swap them with no problem
