FYI: If you fill the empty space in your fridge with bottles of water (especially the freezer), your fridge's compressor will kick on less frequently, use less power, and will hold the cold longer. In other words, a full fridge is a lot more energy efficient than an empty one. That alone might be enough to keep it from thawing out in the middle of the night, and even when you get your generator fixed, it will still be a good idea to keep your fridge full, even if it's not full of food.

A piece of land with a Tiny Home on it would be absolutely incredible idea. Keep your van as well so you can still have other travels. I've noticed a lot of full time RVers have been doing that and it's been incredible for them to have that change, but also maintain the miminalist lifestyle.

Nooo it will leave the odors on the pots, i did it once and Jesus the after taste on food dint go away 😢😢 and advise you can found the collapse basket they are more practical and 0 space... Hey you like cause Way Dunedin.. it it's a beautiful spot. Sad that after pandemic the now kick everybody at 22:00hr it was used to be 24hr place to sleepover or camping

I’m starting that minimalistic approach. Took over 24 bags to Goodwill and Women shelter this weekend from clothes 3 years ago. Just trying to purge things I no longer wear and use thanks to you Noni. Hubby cleaned out garage and added more shelves to house our garden accessories.

Just make sure the storage facility does not have rodents or water leaks. Walk the whole property and check for bait boxes. I put my stuff in storage and most of my things got contaminated with rats. I had to throw away a lot of my things. Get the storage insurance and ask if they cover rodents and leaks.
Yes I live in Florida, you pretty much need a air conditioned storage, without it, things will mold and mildew because of the humidity, I have had things ruined because I bought the units without alc.

Retirement communities have people on golf carts. Also, in Orlando, every neighborhood has a name and HOA. People use golf carts in those also.. I would love to live in a van but, am mobility çhallenged. I'm almost 71, so maybe the dream to travel is just that a dream. I have had a very good life and have traveled a lot! Former MI girl here and Florida nomad, too. Be very careful when you put your stuff back into the van from the storage unit. We did the same and ended up with Florida palmetto bugs In our camper. (😧they have another name that rhymes with coach🤢)Horrible experience!!! They came from the storage unit we rented.
After they remove the shower, will they let you see what it looks like “bare,” so you can reassure yourself there is no hidden water damage? Just curious. We had a leak in a molded tub/shower in an rv and we’re glad we looked because the floor was beginning to crumble.

Smart, smart, smart. I rented a storage unit for 1 month about 1 1/2 ago, got rid of a lot of stuff from my minivan. And I'm about to do a summer cleaning and get rid of everything I haven't used in year. Although I haven't added much I have a bunch of cloths I don't wear, and gear I haven't used. Hope you have a chance to visit Siesta Key Beach. . Not far from where you're at. It is recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in the U S. The sand is white and the water is emerald. . . beautiful sunsets. Love watching your channel from a sub in Indiana.

Gold carts are an actual mode of transportation in the south. I know they are popular in Jacksonville but the aren’t plain carts they have seat belts, stereos and all the car bells and whistle’s

If you are near Naples anytime before you leave Florida go to "seed to table" its a fabulous grocery store, a sight to see. There are some TH-cam videos about them. I went for the first time the other day. I absolutely loved it. It's about 1hr30min drive for me. They have many homecooked meals that you can get. That is where most of my money went to😃. I'm no going to have to cook for a month. They are delicious, with good ingredients.

I was updating hubby in your travels -broken strap. He said you WANT a strap for the flexibility when the vehicle vibrates so it can move. If there’s no slack you will cause problems elsewhere from the constant vibration. Hope this makes sense. If not..message me.

He went on explaining that all vehicles have rubber parts because the engine shifts as we drive and hit bumps etc… I found myself smiling and nosing with such pride. Your lifestyle is one that mostly men dare to do or consider. You all are having shared interests conversations and that’s always a good thing! Have you ever heard of the term: ambivert? I only just heard of it from Pastor Jamal Bryant. It’s someone who is both introverted & extrovert. I believe that’s me. Needing more time to myself to do the things I enjoy and having my own thoughts without outside influences. But then there’s times when I want to be around people. For a short while anyway, until I feel the need to escape again!
My suggestion regarding purchasing land. If that is your plan you should purchase soon rather than later. My husband and I bought a one acre lot in Georgia in 2018 for 18;000. It’s now worth $55;000. All other one acre lots in my community are $ 80,000. Just a suggestion.
I designed my part-time van is taking pics of all my van items and pinning them on a whiteboard. Then I used vanspace to get a 3d visual of my space and where my items are best stored. This type of software is inexpensive and easy to use. I basically organized everything so I am able to live out of Bug-Out bags. This helps to train for overseas travel where the less you have, the better your travels.

True, I’m in Olympia. Working on my full time RV plan. If you were a resident previous to going full time you can continue to claim WA as your residency. I would like to have a lot or some land in the future and summer in the Northwest.
Great idea. And if Nomi buys some land, she can have a tiny home on that land. Still have her RV for other adventures. But still have the Tiny Home for times where she can't travel or wants a break. I've noticed a lot of full time RVers have been doing the Tiny Home/RV situation. It's been cool to see.

I had a friend that his stuff wasv all molded and mildewed. He had to throw his stuff away.

As a Native Michigander, having traveled all over the world I would not live anywhere else. Yes it snowed a little today but this to shall pass. There’s no place like home and she can travel all she wants but still have an affordable home base.
Gold carts are an actual mode of transportation in the south. I know they are popular in Jacksonville but the aren’t plain carts they have seat belts, stereos and all the car bells and whistle’s

If you are near Naples anytime before you leave Florida go to "seed to table" its a fabulous grocery store, a sight to see. There are some TH-cam videos about them. I went for the first time the other day. I absolutely loved it. It's about 1hr30min drive for me. They have many homecooked meals that you can get. That is where most of my money went to😃. I'm no going to have to cook for a month. They are delicious, with good ingredients.

I live in Phoenix. Arizona is dry heat, little to no humidity. I still don't like the heat between June and August though 😊 very hot.

I was updating hubby in your travels -broken strap. He said you WANT a strap for the flexibility when the vehicle vibrates so it can move. If there’s no slack you will cause problems elsewhere from the constant vibration. Hope this makes sense. If not..message me.

He went on explaining that all vehicles have rubber parts because the engine shifts as we drive and hit bumps etc… I found myself smiling and nosing with such pride. I am truly blessed being married to him. Heaven sent that’s for sure.

Have you ever heard of the term: ambivert? I only just heard of it from Pastor Jamal Bryant. It’s someone who is both introverted & extrovert. I believe that’s me. Needing more time to myself to do the things I enjoy and having my own thoughts without outside influences. But then there’s times when I want to be around people. For a short while anyway, until I feel the need to escape again!
I love Southern Ohio. We have mild winters. In this part of Ohio, we have rolling hills and lots of farmland. It beautiful just like Michigan.
My suggestion regarding purchasing land. If that is your plan you should purchase soon rather than later. My husband and I bought a one acre lot in Georgia in 2018 for 18;000. It’s now worth $55;000. All other one acre lots in my community are $ 80,000. Just a suggestion.

I designed my part-time van is taking pics of all my van items and pinning them on a whiteboard. Then I used vanspace to get a 3d visual of my space and where my items are best stored. This type of software is inexpensive and easy to use. I basically organized everything so I am able to live out of Bug-Out bags. This helps to train for overseas travel where the less you have, the better your travels.

I find your videos very relaxing. Love your philosophy on life. Van life has really taken off here in Australia too. Fancy caravans have become a thing for folks who can afford them as a holiday/weekend getaway choice. Costing $70k + Australia is pretty easy to travel around that way. ❤ Mel

True, I’m in Olympia. Working on my full time RV plan. If you were a resident previous to going full time you can continue to claim WA as your residency. I would like to have a lot or some land in the future and summer in the Northwest.
Great idea. And if Nomi buys some land, she can have a tiny home on that land. Still have her RV for other adventures. But still have the Tiny Home for times where she can't travel or wants a break. I've noticed a lot of full time RVers have been doing the Tiny Home/RV situation. It's been cool to see.
