Man, _What If_ is really showing us many different ways how Thanos could've easily been defeated. S1 showing us "Ultron-Vision" bisecting him with just one beam from the Mind Stone, and now this with the Sakaarian Melting Stick.
He is easily defeated because it happens way* before he got any Infinity Stones. Keep in mind that Strange looked into 14 million futures after* Thanos already has three* stones. it was already inevitable for him to win
Not killed but disabled which for him is defeated since he cannot fight now. Thanos and the Grandmaster are celestials meaning it they are hard to kill. That rod liquidizes you. If you are not powerful you die. The Grandmaster was still alive just not solid anymore so Thanos is in the same situation. What they could do is have a Bio-Thanos episode like Broly had.😅
21:52 The cartoon that Aaron is referring to here is the last four episodes of Season 3 of the “Ultimate Spider-Man” animated TV show, known as “Contest of Champions” arc. The arc came out in 2015. In it, the two brothers, the Collector and the Grandmaster, are Elders of the Universe who play a game against each other for dominion over the planet, with the Collector using the Marvel heroes and the Grandmaster using the Marvel villains.
Can we talk about how good Mick Wingert’s Tony Stark has gotten? He wasn’t bad in season 1, but I feel like in season 2 there are some lines that I could believe are actually RDJ speaking!
Mad Max meets Gladiator set in the MCU, I dare you to think about that without smiling ear to ear. And while I wish we had RDJ and Zoe Saldaña back as Tony Stark and Gamora, I honestly think that Mick Wingert and Cynthia McWilliams absolutely lived knocked it outta the park.
I wish we had RDJ voicing Tony also but Mick does such a great impression I'm okay with it, the reason Mick is so good is because he has played Tony in SOOO many different Marvel cartoons so he's had practice with the character and yes he does always sound close to RDJ's voice in every appearance
Mad Max meets Podracing meets Gladiator meets Transformers meets Ragnarok in the MCU. This episode gave us so many greatness with Tony. We miss you, Iron Man. Love you 3000.
Had Avengers 1 happened when they had already introduced the space element of the MCU then I could imagine this totally happening, Tony not making it home.
Even if you weren't sure whether it was Jeff Goldblum or not, the completely insane ad-libs should have given it away 😂 It's hard to be as weird as him... he's a unique mind for sure.
Yeah, this was the episode missing from last season. After Tony and Gamora take out Thanos, The Watcher shows up to grab Gamora as part of the multiverse team and leaves Tony saying something like, "Not you, Stark." Iirc, Tony was back in his Sakaar Armor, but I might be misremembering that aspect.
I really enjoyed this episode! It definitely had its fair share of flaws like how its entire story wraps up in like the last 45 seconds of the episode and how Tony and Gamora effortlessly kill Thanos and how this episode doesn’t end with Tony and Gamora needing to make an Infinity Stone Crusher or having to go to Eitri to destroy the Infinity Gauntlet, which was how their story was picked up in the end of Season 1. But as a whole I still really liked this episode and found its story to be really interesting and entertaining. I think that everything about this episode is what the What If series should be. I loved the story, the score, the cinematography and I really liked how they used the animation to do things they couldn’t normally do to with a live action movie or series, especially with those Mad Max style races. I honestly feel like this episode’s writing and overall atmosphere gave it this perfect blend of Iron Man (2008) and Thor Ragnarock. I think that they wrote Tony perfectly, he felt just like he did back during that time in the MCU. I also just really enjoyed getting to see Tony interact with this new environment for him and with these characters such as Grand Master, Valkyrie, Korg and Gamora, I felt like it was a lot of fun. Also I loved how well this episode was able to establish parallels between Tony and Gamora. With how they had both lost their parents, both their planets fell victim to one of Thanos’ attacks and how they both wanted/needed to break away from the shadow/role put upon them by their fathers. It’s actually kind of sad that these two characters never had the chance to meet in the MCU because I feel like they would have had such a great dynamic together with how similar they are. Not to mention I loved the races throughout this episode, especially the second one that Tony participated in. It was super exciting, engaging, intense, entertaining and super thrilling and overall I was on the edge of my seat with excitement throughout the entire thing. I also liked all the different “chariots”, they each had their own unique designs, looks and colors. I definitely feel like this story could/should get a second episode to show or explain how Tony and Gamora got to the point where they were introduced in that final episode of Season 1. I just had such a fun time watching this episode.
Oh shut I just realized the reason grandmaster said ok I'll stick to that story when gamora said daughter of thanos, it's bc grandmaster knows that that thanks is an eternal and that ain't his daughter
I’ll really never understand the “Reaction “ train ….its like people watch people watch movies / tv shows for what ? Do people get enjoyment outta this kinda stuff ….blind wave seems like their reactions are not authentic with them being kinda over the top just for show …it’s Deff a weird weird time in history right now
The writing for this episode is very poor. Keep in mind in Avengers 1, that was their first experience with aliens pretty much.. and then Tony just gets blasted into this world full of nothing but aliens and creatures, doesn't seem to care, doesn't worry about his friends back home, doesn't worry if he saved them, he's just like "ah okay I'm here now". They definitely went for gimmick episodes over thought out and well written episodes for S2..
I agree that that the writing is poor & that the episodes are goofy instead of well thought out but they litteraly showed that Pepper and Earth was fine in this episode
I mean, She-Hulk looks bad because it's low quality lol. She's not the only thing that looks mediocre in the show, when they break walls or rocks it reminds me of xbox 360 games.

They really took Tony asking "Who is Gamora?" in Infinity War, and made a What If episode out of it, huh :D
OH MY GOD I COMPLETELY MISSED THAT
Aaron: “Oh no he doesn’t have a car!”
Eric: “He doesn’t need a car!”
Calvin: “He…is a car?”
Me: ding ding ding!

"Easily"? Thanos had already killed millions before his plan to get the stones played out.
He is easily defeated because it happens way* before he got any Infinity Stones. Keep in mind that Strange looked into 14 million futures after* Thanos already has three* stones. it was already inevitable for him to win
Funny part is this episode was meant to be in season 1.

@@hamhockbeans Correction: Thanos is a Titan, not a Celestial. The Grandmaster and the Collector are Elders of the universe*, not Celestials

Tony Stark built this in a cave, he build that on Sakar
Jeff Goldblum did voice Grandmaster in this episode, haha. Same for Valkyrie, Korg and Thanos all of whom the original actors voiced in the episode
15:54 Surely he must be talking about the illustrious Wendigoon from the hit podcast Creepcast
Can we talk about how good Mick Wingert’s Tony Stark has gotten? He wasn’t bad in season 1, but I feel like in season 2 there are some lines that I could believe are actually RDJ speaking!
“poodoo”😭😭 i love you eric 12:58
They brought in Mick Wingert to voice Tony, after he has been voicing him all over the animated Marvel Universes
Nick turned out to be a What If? mvp.
Rachel House is indeed the original actor for Topaz. She’s also the grandmother in Moana and is in a few of Taika’s other films.
Mad Max meets Gladiator set in the MCU, I dare you to think about that without smiling ear to ear.

I forgot that wasn't RDJ at times cause of how good he is

This episode gave me the vibes of when Tony Stark joined the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics a few years aho
Accept this time it was cool, I hated that run because it just erased everything cool from Abbots guardian run.
Jar of Thanos is a wild concept
Another amazing video
Erin’s talking about Contest Of Champions in Ultimate Spider-Man
I love these episodes and am so glad you guys are reacting to this series
The purple Hulk in the comics was known as THE FREAK.
I love the nod to the barbarian Minsc and his hamster Boo from Baulders Gate lol.
You guys are the best.
Even if you weren't sure whether it was Jeff Goldblum or not, the completely insane ad-libs should have given it away 😂 It's hard to be as weird as him... he's a unique mind for sure.
From here on out, it’s all bangers!
A friend of mine had a vinyl album from the 70's or earlier of the race track sound you were talking about!
This is the only episode that felt like old school marvel to me
Old school like the MCU, or like the Comics?
Yeah, this was the episode missing from last season. After Tony and Gamora take out Thanos, The Watcher shows up to grab Gamora as part of the multiverse team and leaves Tony saying something like, "Not you, Stark."

I love how you guys avoid the credits like the plague, and then spend 5% of the reaction trying to guess names… just WOW
I think pretty much every character is voiced by their actor except for Stark, Steve, Quill and Gamora
nat, ultron, odin, carol, parker
Basically OG Avenger character who is out of contract with Marvel after Infinity War is not voice their character in What If
well, given what we see her doing in the guardians of the multiverse episode, i don't think the melty stick worked too well
The race was a reference to spykids
Tony Stark builds this at Sakaar! With a box of scraps!
Mario Kart on Sakaar
It is him
This hulk buster like aremor can be called to him and then it transforms into a racecar...
im def getting tron vibes mixed with death race
They can bring back Jeff Goldblum anytime. Love him as the Grand Master.
lol. Thinking it’s an imitation of Goldblum.
I really really thought valkyrie was a bad impression till I decided to look it up halfway through the ep. Not sure what happened there.
Would have been kinda cool if this episode showed us Beta Ray Bill one way or another.
Goldblum overload for me...

This one was confusing because it said in the beginning it was going to be an episode about Gamora, and yet it was about Iron Man?! Makes no sense
2:02 this is why ps4 spider-man looks better then the remaster and following games
The first episode this season was the one cut from the 1st season
This episode. Gamora and Iron Man on Sakaar, was originally intended to be in season 1.
It was this episode, not the first one. A S2 episode also got pushed into S3.
