The Beatles' Classic 1967 Feature Film Restored For Worldwide DVD and Blu-Ray Release on October 8th
In September 1967, The Beatles loaded a film crew onto a bus along with friends, family and cast and headed west on the A30 out of London to make their third film, this time conceived and directed by The Beatles themselves.
"Paul said 'Look I've got this idea' and we said 'great!' and all he had was this circle and a little dot on the top - that's where we started," Ringo
In the wake of the extraordinary impact of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album and the One World satellite broadcast of All You Need Is Love, The Beatles devised, wrote and directed their third film, Magical Mystery Tour, a dreamlike story of a coach day trip to the seaside.
The film features a fabulous supporting cast of character actors and performers, (including Ivor Cutler, Victor Spinetti, Jessie Robins, Nat Jackley, Derek Royle, and the inimitable Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band).
Apple Films have fully restored the long out-of-print, classic feature film for October 8th release worldwide (October 9th in North America) on DVD and Blu-ray with a remixed soundtrack (5.1 and stereo) and special features.
A special, boxed deluxe edition will also be available, and, for the first time ever, there will be a limited theatrical release from September 27th.
This new release also feature three new edits of some of the song performances, as well as scenes that were cut out of the original film.

only the beatles can turn a circle into a movie
I mean they were stoned off their heads
Actually The Hero's Journey is a circle and a lot of movies use it to make stories like Star Wars for example.
But yeah, The Beatles did it before.
On Facebook especially on Paul's page they love the Beatles
As they go round and round, in Circles....
Good move
They sure were pretty high!!!
Happy, gifted, richish, famous, critically acclaimed and loved by many. That was their greatest high.
what do you mean "roll up" stands for?
Alexandre Pinheiro ... Hahah, exactly.
Oh dear heart....they were more sober than you think.
I know, i lived it
John, James Paul, George, Richard Ringo Starkey "Star" , were more intelligent than any artist!
They just led the personna.
Sure...
they had their experimentation with drugs..
But only to increase the understanding of the 1960's populace of,
a new and young generation.
In the turmoil, of the changing to the governmental estabilshment . That in some U.S government departments, was hindering SO MANY!
Look beyond their songs..
THINK for yourself!
You Will find great meaning!
My favourite beatles album
I've still got the original vinyl.....
Another very good album by The Beatles!
I Am The Walrus is the Greatest song in the world and possibly the universe!!!!
Apart from Across the Universe?
Wasn't made as an album, but an 8 track extended EP. Capitol, in the US, added 3 songs and called it an LP.
I know this is sacrilegious, but this album (US compilation) contains 6 out of 11 absolute classics therefore a tiny bit better than the previous album (Sgt Pepper) - to me 1967 is their absolute pinnacle. Sgt Pepper, though, is still an incredible album - a real album all 4 members cohesively created. Apparently, the Beatles weren't involved with Capitol (US) tacking those 5 extra singles to the original EP. Still counts as an album to me, though.
@@boke75any collection of songs counts as album if a company releases it. Japanese or Dutch collections often have a great collection of songs on them, they’re albums too just like the American releases but none of them were released by The Beatles themselves as albums. The Beatles would never have released an LP with songs from the movie on side 1 and a greatest hits package on side 2.
I saw this movie in 1985 on the USA cable network. As a little boy I would rummage through my dad's record collection and look at the inside of the album cover. I actually thought my dad when he was younger went on the bus for the magical mystery tour. Never asked my dad I just thought him and his high school chums did this.
This sort of thing should be a rite of passage, but it's been forced out of our lives.
To our shame.
To our detriment.
Maybe one day .... we'll get it together....
What a Kool memory of your childhood days..🔙😁
One of the best movies to watch on LSD 🤩
Try watching the static in between channels, much better!
Don't use drugs guys, they're bad 👍👍👍
I don't care what people say about this film/album, it's the height of psychedelia to me.
Listening to Ringo's performance in this one---amazing!
For years, I would read that great comic book that came with the album and wished I could see the movie for real. When I finally saw it, I realized it worked much better as a comic book. LOL
These guys have some potential, they sound really retro, they could get a record deal someday. Guitar music is going out of style though
Go watch "Yesterday" if you haven't already, and laugh at how someone kinda turned your joke into a real movie, and it's great!
@@ulengrau6357 I love that movie
@Jaxtyn Maddox Yup, I have been watching on Flixzone for since november myself =)
@Dennis D r/woooosh
@u/DaviddGilmore are you sure his one is a joke? how could you know that?
The Marijuana Mystery Tour.
marijuana........ lol!
More like LSD and heroin.
Magical mystery tour is a drug in of itself.
They were not doing heroin in 67. Three of them never did heroin at all.
Nothing wrong with Pot
@@th3gps223 Right bro!!!
It's been 54 years and the album is still a big banger!
I love this film, and when I showed it to my two sons, they loved it too. My youngest son has watched it repeatedly for a year or two, together with the Yellow Submarine movie.
Brainwashing
The Beatles were very special to me I've been listening to them forever since 1963 it's no mystery to me why they were so popular the best damn group in my time or any other time their songs take you on a journey sometimes very complicated Journey but for the most part they were about love The Beatles will live forever.
The greatest band in the history of music, blew Elvis out of the Elvis out of the water
Blew Elvis out of the Elvis out of the water? That must be an in-joke that only obsessed Beatles fans get 🕳
@@chiefscheider LOL ! No, not an in-joke just the brain stuck in repeat mode !
@Nick Green. Absolutely!! There's not single act as monumental both creatively and commercially as the BEATLES. And that includes Elvis..
Elvis was so upset about the Beatles usurping his position at the top of pop music that he actually went to the FBI to get them to investigate the Beatles.
Who's here after the Minecraft movie teaser?
How did you know???
Me
Heree
Nah I watched the magical mystery tour movie when I was 7
"It's a mystery to me da da da da"
In film terms, The Beatles were Monty Python before Monty Python existed. And Monty Python themselves say it's as if the spirit of The Beatles passed to them.
George Harrison even funded the python film Life of Brian in 1979
python and beatles humour was inspired by the goons
George Harrison appears in the life of Brian as a background character and worked a bit with Eric Idle
WERE BEATING THE ENDER DRAGON WITH THIS ONE🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🟩🟩🟩🟩
Nahh mojang literally shitted on this masterpiece, shame on mojang
A truly Magical time. Wish i could go back to 1967. Epic music & Good Vibes. 😀🌠
great album...great movie...fantastic freakin band!
We all need more of this good stuff thanks
The documentary which aired on PBS in the states last year was really good, because few Americans actually had seen "Magical Mystery Tour," and others thought it was a just song or an album.
Long ago I had seen a film print that was blown up from video. It was terrible. To those who have never seen it, this DVD is quite a piece of '60s memorabilia worth watching. The commentary by Paul, Ringo, George on film, and others is insightful. A better edit would have made a classic. I loved it.
"A song"
What's next on the agenda?
1:45 I don't have numbers on how many times I have replayed this. I just love Paul.
LARRY TURN IT DOWN
TURN IT DOWN
After watching the film, you get the feel that the movie makes you experience tripping. They show all sorts of things that come from dreams, visions, or hallucinations.
It was the most wonderful and also most awkward film I ever seen
Are you saying to me that Michael Jackson's abusive father and accomplice brothers hold the rights to this awesome art? Screw this world, man.... Enough....
Not anymore-Universal now owns it.
@@duffbaker9554 :))
Roll up ,roll up for the magical mistery tour, come on guys
Man do I love the Beatles.
This is pure gold
Excelente música, como documental histórico es invaluable, pero hay que reconocer que The Beatles como cineastas, eran excelentes músicos.
This is a film of absurdity, and it's amazing how The Beatles are able to pull if off out of a circle 😂
MUST. HAVE. IT. IN. MY. COLLECTION!! BEATLES. FAN. MUST. HAVE. IT. ASAP!!🎶🎤🎤🎤🎤🎶
Still have the original record set and one in a frame that my brother did me for a birthday... Happy days
Best beatles' album
I'm already in tears trying to watch this movie for free since my parents will refuse to buy it for me
iTunes... you’ll have to pay for it
We need an update, did you get it yet?
That remastered vinyl is really tempting. I'm pretty sure it's technically the first vinyl remaster for The Beatles.
The video and audio quality of the restoration demonstrated here is infinitely superior to any previous format version (whether 16mm, VHS or DVD). This release is clearly an act of true love and respect for the memory of John and George, as well as Ivor Cutler, Vivian Stanshall, Victor Spinetti and Jessie Robins - and a tribute to all the other beautiful people who breathed life into this hour of musical magic. One of my favourite films - and certainly the one I have watched more than any other.
Fantastic visually and incredible music.
Thanks to the Beatles! long life the beatles
May the Beatles live forever!
"LARRY TURN IT DOWN!"

In January 1968 we`ve heard that british critics destroyed Magical Mystery Tour, but public replied with sales, and reached 2nd position behind Pepper. I ran to the most extravagant music store in Buenos aires,Argentina, in Alvear Street ,and bought the english original album, cos producers doubted to reproduce LP locally . Can you imagine ? Objecting Beatles ? Critics were crazy. Time gave reason to the Fab Four !
"Please bring it back" When the music movie ruled
2:01 GEORGE IS ALIVE!!!!
'-' Stop it,get some Help!
Im gonna cry.
If only...
It was commentary from the Anthology series
@Spirit Miracle no
Magical !
Time has been kind to this film.
I don't think I can take enough drugs to sit through this. But just from the clips I can see how it reminds me of the Monty Python sketches/movies - especially the food shoveling bit and all the Yes Sir Sargent Master Sir Sir! bits. And...someone who looked like Stevie Winwood...... Fool on the Hill is a great song though.
I love this.
On this day in Music - 03 Nov 1967
The filming for The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour was completed finishing with a sequence at Ringo's country house in Weybridge, Surrey, BBC television bought the rights to broadcast the film twice, the first broadcast, in black-and-white was scheduled for December 26, 1967. The second showing, on the color channel BBC2, was not yet available to all Britons, was set for January 5, 1968.
Born as Sun moved to Capricorn
I wonder how The Beatles would react to their song in that dorky Minecraft film.
Yes a circle is a very good idea lol
Edit: a circle with words on it it's very revolutionary
And that was a Magical Mystery Tour. I told you. Goodbye.
I agree, but just tell them the movie is still wayyy ahead of its time ;)
this promo makes me so f'ng happy!!!
This was the beginnings of music videos
Thank you : )
You gotta love the interwebs, last time I saw this was when I was 7 or so...my grandpa had the movie in Vhs offcourse and I am 20yrs of age right now, I only listen to death metal and for some reason I started looking for this here I didn't know what it was but something inside me just wanted to find this again and am happy I found it :)
On the VHS version it was a PG but now on the DVD version it's now a 12+.(Probably Jan Carson had something to do with that)
We where just talking about how we all hide behind a wall of illusion never really glimpsing our true selves, the time they realize it, if they relize it its to late and they pass away...
Need itttttt😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
still have this on DVD. eating is cool.
I just got the rerelease of this on DVD! Its better then the last time I seen it.
Can't wait to go see this at the cinema
QUANDO COMPREI ESSE DISCO, TINHA 16 ANOS, OS BEATLES JÁ NÃO EXISTIAM, E NESSE DIA,TINHA TINHA SAÍDO DO DENTISTA COM MUITA DOR, PRA MIM É UMA LEMBRANÇA INESQUECÍVEL PORQUE O ÁLBUM PASSOU QUALQUER SOFRIMENTO QUE TIVE NO DIA. QUANTA EMOÇÃO !
I wood love to see the Beatles let it be film on blu-ray n dvd with the deleated things n bloopers n so on just like they did with the magical mystery tour
I can't believe I just saw Steve Winwood looking in the mirror at himself - WOW
It’s Paul’s fault 😜 never give him a crayon and blank sheet of paper again
🌌🌟💕💜💕🌟🌌
I'd like this 100 times if I could.
Brilliant
Magical Mystery Tour
Wow, that's really high-quality!
Damn if only I had waited for this version.
I remember watching it when i was 12. I still couldn’t understand how did i manage to have a good laugh while it was kinda absurd 😂
Because its absurd humor, nothing has to have meaning
I'm as big a Beatles fan as there is, but this was not anything special.
The music from the album is fine, with some top notch cuts for sure, but the movie production was sloppy as hell and went nowhere.
Still...it's the Beatles, so I always have interest.
The Beatles career was nothing but phenomenal success no matter what they did. The one exception is this movie. But even though it isn't great, it's still pretty good.
@blob darkass you want a link to the movie.
I grew up in my teens with The Beatles and they dominated my taste in music because, along with George Martin, they were more than brilliant. This movie was a HUGE mistake. It was and is absolute garbage.
@G&MM I think Martin Scorsese was inspired by what he was smoking and snorting.
