Iman ....Both Raw and Ripe Papaya can be used for making a sabji . Ripe papaya is used to marinate mutton. Similarly Raw Banana can also be used to make a sabji . This is normally eaten in Orissa/Bengal/Assam region.

You can prepare ' dalma' in your kitchen. Add dal into boiled water and then add all types of vegetables to it. Boil it. And then take a separate pot on the stove, take one or teaspoonful mustard oil init heat it and throw into it some mustard or cumin. It will make a sound. Then add the boiled vegetables in it. After two minutes it is prepared. Finally add cumin and chilly powder to taste.
2 types of rice comes out of Dhan. White rice and faint green rice. White rice is called arua,used in temples and home. faint green rice used in home only(also known as boiled rice).While Dhan in it's yellow jacket, from white rice dhan,comes chuda(Poha) of white and red with big,small size. Also lia and ukhuda which is shown in the video. That yellow ukhuda is made from sugar. When made from gud, its colour becomes brown which is more taste and costly. Bhubaneswar is famous for kora khai. Kora is a ladoo made from powdered sugar, costly version includes ginger juice and grated coconut. Khai is mentioned above made with gud,ginger juice and coconut slices. As for faint green rice, mudhi(bhel) is made. For cooked rice, there are many varieties of authentic Odia style- plain rice known as aanna(arna),then oria rice(rice cooked in temples with kaju,kismis,dhania leaves,pudina leaves,ghee,ginger etc.) One can eat that plainly with nothing added. Then mitha kanika(sweet rice made with ghee) and sweet khechudi (kichdi) that is offered to Gods in temple. Sweet dal is also made temples.

In November, 4 Thursdays(In Odisha,Thrusday is the worshiping of Goddess Laxmi where as in most parts of India, its Friday as Friday becomes to Sukra whose worshiping diety is Goddess Laxmi,one of the 10 mahavidya or prime goddess. There Goddess Laxmi is known as Kamalatmika.) are considered as auspicious and Goddess Laxmi is worshiped with great care as it is believed that she visits every house in early morning and if she is impressed by the decoration done and cleanliness, she will bless that house. That is why women in night 3-4 AM decorate the house,put on the light and also make chitta,jhoti on ground and walls(these are different from rangoli. In rangoli, they use colours where we called that muruja using same colours but different design like peacock,elephant etc. where rangoli is normally flower design).chitta jhotti is made from soaking the white chawal in water and making a paste from it. The common design that are drawn is shape foot,lotus flower,elephant associated with goddess Laxmi. Even Laxmi puran a book is read every Thursday in every home especially in November and even the movie Sree jagannath movie made in Odia in 1950 while Jai jagannath movie made in 2007 in Hindi and 15 other languages which tells the story of Laxmipuran.

In India Handloom sarees are very expensive whether it's of the state of Orissa or any other state...Handloom means handwoven...a single sari takes lot of time and effort to be prepared ..hence it's expensive Here people who love sarees....they don't mind spending on it...These type of sarees are passed down the generations....Like how people spend in gold jwellery....they like to spend in a good sari.
Dalma- it is an authentic Odia dish made in temples and homes. In ancient temples they do not use round potato and tomato as they were brought by the british,even dry red chili are not used because they were brought by foreigners to India. So, they use yam(sooran),dates(khajoor) and black pepper(kali mirch) and the dalma is prepared in ghee I mean ghee used for tadka which enhances the taste. In dalma they use- Baigan,sooran,kachaloo,raw papaya,parwal,pumpkin,green raw banana etc. One can also add other things. It's totally different from shambar where they use other things. Ghee tadka makes dalma more tasty. It can eaten with rice and roti and even chakuli which is another authentic Odia dish(different from uttapam,pancake,dosa etc). As per papaya- raw papaya is used in Dalma, Santula and also sometimes boiled and tadka added(pancha phutan- sarso,dhania,methi,kala jeera, and jeera).Eating papaya clears your stomach but pregnant ladies are advised not to eat boiled papaya as it will harm the child. N:B- You will be surprised to know my late mother used to make sweet tangy jelly from raw papaya using lemon and sugar.

In the state of Orissa...3 types of Handloom sarees are famous....Sambhalpuri...Bomkai...and Ikkat..All are superb and looks very classy and elegant.
