I was at this game and the funniest thing that happened during this game isn't even mentioned. Anand had been instructed to start Kasparov's clock when Anand pointed out that the clocks had not been reset after game 9. A little laughter over the over sight, no biggie. Then Carol Jarecki grabbed the clock to reset it and she dropped it! It hit the board, then hit the floor. Everybody was cracking up over this--the commentators, the fans, Anand, and even Kasparov, who came in with his fierce game face on, turned his head to the wall and laughed out loud. After the clock was reset, Kasparov took a minute to get his game face on again, then played 1.e4. An entertaining start to an impressive game.

White and blue squares are so relaxing, it makes you feel like the game is in your home with your family where kids are running and everybodys happily messing ;)

Amazing how players of this level have such crushing technique that even with an extra pawn and bishop vs knight on an open board is game over, no questions asked.

Extraordinary play by Kasparov. His way of crashing out slamming the door was not nice.Anand defended well but Kasparov sealed it.Great video.Thanks.

I'll take GM King's calm analysis over the loud mouth American claptrap any day. And I AM an American.

Lucien Henry They played 2 games if im not mistaken at this tournament.. the famous game that most people know when magnus draw the first game.. but the second game magnus was really 13 years old playing Kasparov and magnus lost rally badly.. Even after the tournament Kasparov visited youn Magnus at his room and Teached him some chess.

If Kasparov in the computer time and easy chess playing, analysis and training time he would likely be 2900+

Lucien Henry grades have inflated since then, do you really think fischer was only 2700 player ?

Great game but I dislike how Kasparov uses a team of analysts to help him. It is really disgraceful.

Anand also had a team of analysts, it's absolutely standard in world championship matches. When Vishy played Kramnik in 2008 for example, he even had help from Magnus Carlsen.

Bobby was right. Chess is dead. This is all prepared variations and prearrangement. Pure memorization, not creativity over the board.
