The loss of tactile feedback while wearing gloves means there’s more risk of damage (tearing, etc.) to the book. Cotton gloves, when reused, also absorb dirt/dust from what is being handled as well as oils from your hands over time and these can transfer to the book. For items where fingerprints or natural oils produced by our skin would cause damage (negatives, printed photographs, metals, etc.), then nitrile gloves would be worn. But here clean, recently washed hands are fine for handling.
Informative and relaxing. whoever came up with this video deserves a massive bonus

No gloves!!?? 😮
Because they can rip it with the latex gloves, these pages need extreme and precise handling and that can only be achieved this way.
Why do we have to wisper ?
I don't have headphones.
Why are you whispering??
ASMR : autonomous sensory meridian response :/
You’re always supposed to whisper in the library….
