I love the part where everyone cheers for the dog finally getting up and he starts wagging his tail in excitement in reaction to them. He was clearly playing the crowd, and it was adorable. He's not the first dog to play that move at the park, and he won't be the last.
I watched a K-9 unit dog on TH-cam and he didn’t want to go to work so he was laying in the front yard. He got a belly rub and then he was better. Positive reinforcement.
Lol, I can totally relate. My goldendoodle Barley Barker used to do this to me when he didn't want to leave a place. He was a therapy dog, and it was especially hard if he decided he didn't want to leave a facility we were visiting. Awkward for me, but people were happy that he didn't want to leave them. He was 90 pounds, so I couldn't pick him up. I had to use the same tactics as this guy in the video (i.e., drop the leash and pretend to leave him). It was always kind of alarming to walk away from Barley, but he'd eventually follow me. He died this past July from hemangiosarcoma, and he would have turned 14 next week. I miss him so much, though I'm grateful to have had nearly 14 years with him. The blessings from dogs outweigh the occasional embarassment.

But even if the dog didn't want the owner to be mad, there could be two reasons. Aww. I have social anxiety and GAD, but it seems like my mental health evens out whenever it comes to my dog. She's helped me a lot in terms of interaction, even if she's being hilariously difficult. She's a dachshund mix and their notoriously independent and stubborn. She HAS done this to me before and I've had to carry her a block before she was willing to walk again :')

Sweety wrappers is what you need. Give them treats and make the wrappers make a noise a few times and you have sweety wrapper enabled dogs! It's a high frequency sound too so you can rustle the wrappers at a hundred paces and that dog is after you like a cannonball 😆

I personally have suffered from anxiety and social dysphoria for my entire adult life and, in my worst days, when I had the attention of a crowd that I didn't want, the anxiety would kick in to the point that my body temperature involuntarily rose to horribly uncomfortable extremes which in turn made me really dizzy, light headed, nauseous and bodily weak and in the worse case scenario I'd vomit or collapse. I had no control over it. My dog also does this but thankfully I'm never around crowds big enough to see it and cause issue.😂
I probably would have picked the dog up too but it looks like the owner is just determined to get him to follow obediently. Strangers staring in a situation like this doesn't matter to lots of people because it's not a form of negative attention. They just love the dog.
I have a golden retriever, her name’s Firefly. When this happens, I just have to accept defeat. By that I mean, pick her up and carry her the rest of the way.
Awh love her. They they great dogs. My mum lost her lab last year in September. He was only 8 years old he had cancer and none of us have ever got over him. He was a great and always follows my mum.

Aww. I have social anxiety and GAD, but it seems like my mental health evens out whenever it comes to my dog. She's helped me a lot in terms of interaction, even if she's being hilariously difficult. She's a dachshund mix and their notoriously independent and stubborn. She HAS done this to me before and I've had to carry her a block before she was willing to walk again :')
Probably the best part is the eruption of applause from the people in the park once the dog actually moves to follow its owner

Or (and it's a rare occurrence I grant you) what if you have to leave an area because the police got a tip about a bomb or something? Or something more mundane, what if a guy that's visibly ill and coughing is walking near you, he is not strictly dangerous but you want to get away ASAP for obvious reasons. Will the dog understand the danger? I love dogs but sometimes they need to listen because they don't understand stuff as you do.

Sweety wrappers is what you need. Give them treats and make the wrappers make a noise a few times and you have sweety wrapper enabled dogs! It's a high frequency sound too so you can rustle the wrappers at a hundred paces and that dog is after you like a cannonball 😆

@@akale2620 average weight is about 30kg, males can be 40kg. Carrying isn't easy but doable and I had to carry my stubborn female on a few occasions. Luckily I've never had one be as bad as in this video.

I personally have suffered from anxiety and social dysphoria for my entire adult life and, in my worst days, when I had the attention of a crowd that I didn't want, the anxiety would kick in to the point that my body temperature involuntarily rose to horribly uncomfortable extremes which in turn made me really dizzy, light headed, nauseous and bodily weak and in the worse case scenario I'd vomit or collapse. I had no control over it.
My dog also does this but thankfully I'm never around crowds big enough to see it and cause issue.😂
I probably would have picked the dog up too but it looks like the owner is just determined to get him to follow obediently. Strangers staring in a situation like this doesn't matter to lots of people because it's not a form of negative attention. They just love the dog.
I have a golden retriever, her name’s Firefly. When this happens, I just have to accept defeat. By that I mean, pick her up and carry her the rest of the way.
Awh love her. They they great dogs. My mum lost her lab last year in September. He was only 8 years old he had cancer and none of us have ever got over him. He was a great and always follows my mum.
